4 days of waiting for the warranty to be considered, and a new cassette to be shipped. This is exceptionally good customer service. Well done Garbaruk :)
@@COOLBIKEyt ahhh, I thought it was irony of you waiting 4days with no response, hahah! Indeed, I was surprised by such turnaround - and probably mostly by shipping time - it was before-christmas period, deliveries usually are busted in warehouses like hell:))
Mistake - Garbaruk cassette is manufactured from the hardened-steel monoblock not aluminum! That is huge difference. Only the 52-teeth cog is from aluminum alloy.
I had problems with that cassette too. In last models they have rework gears for flawless shifting. I just received the new cassette from warranty.but i have not mount it yet.
Was it also bent in some way like here, or else? I wonder if this comes as a result of power/shifting on load, or something else:)) Purposefully I don't do that for certain, but... We all been there:D
I'm not sure but I've not manged to bed this cassette. Everything is straight. So far bes performing cassette I've had. But I will see how it does after lots of riding. @@tom10crafted
Thanks for this video. I have had this issue with a Shimano SLX 12s cassette. Could not index the gears correctly, and spent hours trying EVERYTHING, with same symptoms as you stated. After switching out to the OE Sunrace cassette the problem went away. Just checked the SLX cassette and it has a slight bend to it, similar to the black garbaruk you have.
I've had issues with 2 of the 6 I've used. 1 cracked between the bottom 3-4 cogs on the carrier after 1 ride (material/manufacturing defect?) and 1 had the 2nd smallest cog that wouldn't stop clicking even when all other cogs were flawless and derailleur and hanger were straight. Both were warrantied. The other 4 I've ran well. 1st one died after about 2700miles, the other 3 are fine still. For the bolts, I've Loctited them all from the get go and never had an issue.
I built up a gravel bike with a Garbaruk 11 speed cassette, sram force derailleur with a garbaruk long cage mod and it simply didn't work correctly no matter how much I tuned it. I ended up replacing it with sram eagle and a 'ratio' shifter mod, it fixed and now my bike was rideable but still not 100% right under high load, ended up being the derailleur hanger got bent in shipping. It still shows that sram eagle could handle the slightly bent hanger but the Garbaruk cassette couldn't handle it and the setup needs to be perfect.
The funny thing is that when you don't expect that there are bolts, you don't even look for them to be checked, haha! but yeah, this might also helps to make colored versions more easily. Yet, doesn't seem that they would be selling biggest sprockets separate
I have the same problem with my Garbaruk cassette. I suspect it is from the first installation. That spacer through the middle of the cassette is initially a bit loose, maybe more on some cassettes than others. The first time the lock ring is torqued the spacer is not loose anymore. I believe the slack is not taken up evenly through the cassette so the derailleur can only be tuned to half of the gears.
Recently bought a microspline Garbaruk 10-52 cassette. Had problems day one when shifting from the 12th gear to the 11th gear. The chain just didn't engage to the cog a bit randomly. Replaced three chains but nothing. I've opened a ticket to the seller and we started a very big back and forth troubleshooting sending videos. Garbaruk at first tried to evade the claim by saying that my hanger is bent, the B tension is wrong my cable is lose etc etc. Took me about 20 days to prove and push that the problem is with the cassete and I've spent money buying new shimano cassete since I couldn't train or race on my bike. Sent videos to the seller with other cassette working and eventually the claim was accepted. Now I am waiting for the replacement. Note: I went through all that using my own bike cave and tools and I also visisted and consulted my trusted mechanic that he also concluded that the problem was the cassete. Imagine being someone with limited mechanical skills. Someone could have ended up swapping the entire drivetrain and spending tons of money due to the negligence of garbaruk accepting their fault. Bottomline: Garbaruk cassette never again.
Thanks for sharing! The issue I faced look very much like you described - chain was not going off 12th and was being stuck at some sections. Did you happened to find out whether it also had swing once removed?
@@tom10crafted No, actually it never crossed my mind to check the cassete for this wobble that you did. Possibly the problem was this because my cassete was randomly engaging and in my mind this could have caused the problem. I have returned the faulty one back to the seller and I am expecting the replacement one that I will perform your check before installing. Hopefully it will be ok this time but it seems that this one is a known issue for garbaruk that they are trying to hide.
