I definitely had a trip down memory lane when I went through all my UFOs at the end of the year! Your granny square sock yarn blanket is something I've been wanting to start with my own leftovers. Here's to lots of making this year!
It was a little crazy pulling everything out! I have never gotten everything out like this! I love the fingering weight granny project! It is so easy, but satisfying. I am thinking about taking my 10g minis and making a whole blanket for the Summer in solid squares and taking the leftovers for the shawl.
Carrie, you are fabulous and your thumbnail was hilariously funny!😂. That brick sweater is calling my name. Everything you showed us today is beautiful. I really hope you don’t have to frog that shawl. Once finished and if you happen to so frustrated that you never want to see it again I will happily receive it as a gift (😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣)! I have every bit of faith that it will be beautifully finished soon . ❤❤❤❤
When your ready to tackle the hexi’s Becky Simmons has a ‘join as you go’ for them called All Hexed Away. The pastel shawl is one of my favorites. I’m glad it’s on the short list. I have a few December projects still on the needles but to many gives me anxiety and all the fun is lost. Now my queue of ready to start projects is another story.
Awesomesauce! Thank you!!! The half circle shawl is already on the last row now. I end up with a lot of random projects that get hidden so if it weren't for my journals, I would just forget they exist until we move again.
Hi, I have an idea for your Granny square blanket. Make the middle join as you go but on each end place one of the finished strips you have made already. I think it will look really good. ❤
That is a great idea! I would want to make it like sashing if I did that and boarder the center in a different color. It might make it too large though. I will have have to ponder this one! Thank you!!!
Making an adult-sized multi-strand blanket for charity is on my 2025 project to-do list, but I had not chosen a pattern yet. C2C block is perfect; thank you for the inspiration.
Grady thumbnail!! You’re a real trooper to drag all those out. It would make me crazy to have all those WIPs. I have a 3 yr old advent project and that one thing drives me crazy! Not crazy enough to actually work on it though. 😂😂
I figured I should pull them all out for myself. If I were going to do that... I should share right? I have an advent that was a bad experience, the yarn is great, but I don't know what to do with it at this point.
Hi Ms. Carrie! Wow, that's a lot of WIPs. I haven't been brave enough to count all of my UFOs, lol. You are very brave pulling all of those out. I know I want to try and get at least four to five of my old WIPs done this year. But still, to actually count all of them-now that deserves a medal! Haha! Hugs and love to you, ma'am. 😘🤗❤️
I totally understand not wanting to print in color on certain printers. I got an eco printer 3 years ago and the amount of $$ saved on ink, even b&w printing, it has paid for itself twice now.
Hahahaha. Girl!!!! You KNOW I’ve got you!!! lol always!! Ask me how many years it’s been since I’ve touched that peppermint swirl blanket!!! I’d say about 7 or 8 years. lol but like you said…I really want the blanket!!! It’s so gorgeous!! Infamous is right!!!!😂😂😂 I need to pull out all my UFOs and frog or complete. I finished several at the beginning of last year. And then I caught the amigurumi bug and have been busy making gifts. Gotta get back to it and clean stuff out!! Thanks for the accountability and inspiration!! I can’t believe it’s been so long since you started that Carrie colors hexi nap blanket!! Feels like yesterday!! Dang!!! Happy new year, my friend!!!🎉
LOL!!! It is so pretty, but needed the video to start each block does make it harder and now 7 years later I need to figure out what I have and what needs to be made still... There are more peppermints in my bag. I think having your babies has shortened time for you 100%! You are marking time in baby growth and it FLIES by!!!
I have 3 sweaters that need finishing 🤪 I have a stuffed tooth I was free handing that I started before having the experience to finish. I think I could now finish it but my daughter isn’t losing teeth anymore 😂
I feel your pain😅. Now I know I'm not the only one who has a long list of not quite finished projects. I haven't checked my project notebooks to see the not finished yet projects. Thanks for your bravery😍. At last count I was in the twenties😮. It's amazing when you loose steam for something. My new goal for 2025 is to clear the space around my work table so I'm not kicking the boxes things are sitting in!😂 Two totes, a shrug, a potential twin size blanket/lapghan (final size yet to be determined), weaving in ends on a mostly complete bedspread, basic knit cardigan, two travel blankets/lapghans, buttons on a chunky sweater, a crochet sweater, and two spring mesh tops. 😅 I think that is everything piled at my feet😂. Prayers to us all for finding our way through all these projects, frog or finish. We Can Do It!...the struggle is real (insert dinosaur emoji here😅- my device doesn't have one). I hope you are going to have an excellent year❤🎉.
It was bonkers pulling everything out! It took me 3 hours to round it all up and pull it all out! I am really bad about putting things in the closet for a weekend and forget about them 100%! If I can't see it, I won't work on it. I found it a success a few years ago to not have piles in my way anymore. I think a few years ago I had 47 UFOs at the end of a year. It was driving me crazy to have to stuff shuffle to get to what I needed.
lol love the “drowning in wip’s” thumbnail! I’ve got like 20 I’d like to see done and dusted, but probably 10 are actively bothering me that I didn’t keep at em. Like oh sure, start a new shiny sweater when this one just needs 1 sleeve and some hem ribbing…why just 1 mitten again? That linen shopping bag looks fabulous w just half a strap…lol some are ridiculously shameful put aways. I have 3 sweaters w necks and sleeves done that are just inches past sleeve sep when that ball ran out. I guess I’m making some kind of activewear shrugs now. Boob shirts?!? Anyway, lol we will persevere!
Not sure how many UFO's I've got ... I'm trying to keep only 3 active WIPs with 1 crochet, 1 pair of socks and another knit project with larger needles so my wrist doesn't complain too much. Delaying my re-org. Crossing my fingers I don't find too many. Your year long MAL is going to help me out alot with down sizing my stash. Want to be more intentional with yarn and hobbies.
Hi Carrie, I just found you today and I'm in awe of all your amazing projects! Can I ask you about the pattern (or at least what stitch you're using) in the "Corner to Corner Double Stranded Scrap Blanket"? It's beautiful and I'd love to make one like it. Good luck on all your WIPs and UFOs this year!! I have two sweater UFOs - one only needs the sleeves and the other just needs me to finish the yoke, so I have zero excuses not to finish them this year, and you've inspired me. Much love!
There isn't a pattern for the C2C. I am just using 2 DK/Sport weight yarns held double and when one runs out, I add the next one in. I do have a tutorial for C2C and how to boarder I use Crochet Crowd's method to set it up.
What a great bunch of projects Carrie! 💜

So many lovely WIPs! Best wishes for a very crafty New Year!
Happy New Year!!! They are all wonderful projects!

LOL! I am not frustrated by it, I am afraid to go back to though!

I love playing with corner to corner! Especially with all of the scraps I keep making.
Hi Carrie! I have a few wips to finish and some to frog too 😄💙
There will always be a few here.
Happy New Year to you and Troy
Happy New Year!!!

I have never pulled them all out before. It took me like 3 hours (with interruptions) to get them all stacked up on my desk.
I totally understand not wanting to print in color on certain printers. I got an eco printer 3 years ago and the amount of $$ saved on ink, even b&w printing, it has paid for itself twice now.
Our Black and White is eco, but the color is meant for photo quality printing so I could print pictures out.... So not nearly as eco friendly.
Oh my lol that's a great thumbnail 😅 that's also a lot of WIPS ❤
Thank you!!! It is a lot but 1 is done already!!!

LOL!!! You know there are always things like that that happens to crafters!
I am doing granny striped shawls with scraps right now and loving it!
That is so much fun!!! I just love scrappy projects! There are so many ways to makes them!

I finished a lot of little projects last year that just needed something small to finish. This year, they are all more than a week of work.
Not sure how many UFO's I've got ... I'm trying to keep only 3 active WIPs with 1 crochet, 1 pair of socks and another knit project with larger needles so my wrist doesn't complain too much. Delaying my re-org. Crossing my fingers I don't find too many.

I just get all kinds of distracted. I am working on reorg of stash and there are so many things I want to play with in there!!!
I realy need to go and look over allmy wips too.
Pulling them all out together was a little eye opening!

@@HappyCraftyHomemaker Where can I find your tutorial? Is it a video here on UA-cam?
Not so bad. I was worried for ya with the thumbnail lol. Under my bed is the ufo home here. I'm scared to look under the bed...
😂😂😂😂😂😂❤
DROWNING in UFOs!!!
I have about 6 active-ish WIPs right now and maybe 4-ish lingering WIPs. I’m way down from my usual 20-30 WIPs in the past. 😂
That is GREAT!!!
Search and check out Arriving UFO by YES! A masterpiece of music!
I'm trying to finish WIPs, but I get distracted with new projects. My husband says I have a problem.😏
It is a real problem! I am always starting something new!
@HappyCraftyHomemaker One of my New Year's resolution, is to finish many of my WIPs.
