I was homeless from 17 years old all the way to the age of 30. It's been 5 years since I haven't been homeless on the streets anymore and no one came to save me. My life basically just started and it took me awhile to realize that no one ever gave a damn about me.

thanks for telling the truth about this man I've found this out the hard way.... grew up in a family of mostly women ....father and I have no relationship..... I'm one of over 10 kids.... my grandfather was my male role model he had schizophrenia and Parkinson's so certain things he couldn't help me with and was still young at that time he died when I was in high school right before that 18 year sweet spot I was scapegoated by family I tell the truth I'm kind but I've learned that people take it for weakness and that's made me colder and I'm trying to navigate that I'm trying to stay who I am and who I want to be but it IS cold and cruel out here never was like this when I was a kid and I don't think it's just that I'm older something is in the air I can't put my finger on it's just different now and keeps changing everyday but that's another topic....

That is true so true and I can really relate to this. I’m kind and I’m really honest with people. One thing I’ve learned with working, and dealing with people is not everybody is good. If people can find an opportunity to make themselves look good and destroy your reputation they WILL. Not everyone is like that, but from my own experience is don’t trust people based on what they say. Look at people’s actions. That’s what truly will tell you everything you need to know about a person. Be careful out there Jarrell. God bless!

Videos like these are why there was an attack on the “family unit” , particularly removing the man of the house. Nobody their to look you in the face and tell you what it really is out this mf early. But, when you have a multi billion dollar prison system , it doesn’t benefit you to attack and remove the men from the home . Thanks OG much love let’s get to it 💯🤝🏿.

Only one teacher in high school gave us this talk. He was a refugee that came to the United States during the Vietnam war. Starting with literally nothing, he became a math teacher and was working on another degree at the time. It was nearly 30 years ago and I still remember him telling us how once we are out of high school no one cares about if we fail or succeed in life. It is absolutely true. Young men need to understand the rules of the game to win. The huge positive is when you go through the struggle and reach the goal of whatever it is you want to do, there is a complete shift in your mentality. You appreciate what you have so much more and develop a maturity that is built around self confidence where you completely do not care what other people will think if you drive some kind of car, wear some type of clothes, or even state your opinion about something. It is one of the rights of passage in life that is hard to explain but you know it when it happens to you.

I am a 58 y/o Black man with two sons ages 28 and 30. I have been saying EXACTLY what you said in your video to them since they were in their late teens. I also have lead by example, by always being gainfully employed, and always involved in their lives, despite being divorced from their Mother. I have found that as adulthood has smashed them over the head, they ask me for guidance now, more than they EVER did. They have come to realize that this world is a cold, cruel place that will swallow you up and spit you out, if you don't love yourself enough to protect yourself with integrity and determination. Both of my sons are gainfully employed, have never been incarcerated, and are responsible young men. With no children out of wedlock I will also add. I consider myself fortunate and blessed to have my sons in my life, and I am proud of them.
