I remember getting into this game about a year ago with 2 of my friends, and I like how there wasn't AT ANY point whatsoever (not in the tutorial, not in the videos online) mention of the fact that you had to finish your build at all, let alone by night 1. And we played like a good 50 hours of it at the time as well. Getting back into ER has felt so good, since there are so many good content creators like you now, doing what the devs couldn't. Big ups to you, I hope this game will get the popularity it deserves
Agreed! I love this game so I feel the same way and unfortunately when I took a look at the game it still doesn't really encourage people to speed run their build before fighting.

In the end, I decided I won't be playing ER on my PC anymore, since I'd have to play at around 13 fps so that was making it much harder to play at a decent level or improve. Tried reinstalling the game, but no luck unfortunately. My friends and I got into this game earlier this week. We're awful but I really love it so far. However I don't know if it just comes down to fully understanding a character or just skill level, we CANNOT win any engagements unless we outnumber them. Seeing other players at any point is like an instant loss even if we are full build. I'm pretty bad at this style of game but my friend has been a consistent Plat-Diamond LoL player for years now and even he's getting mollywhopped.
hmmm I'd go back into a match replay and see if you guys are behind on mastery! Fights feel pretty rough if that's the case! If that isn't what's going on I wouldn't mind taking a look at the vod!

If you are trying to duo in Asia you have to play in the morning 6am-4pm cst, for squads same time except it ends at like 12 pm cst then you get way slower queue pops

Congrats on the W! But yeah they aren't going to be in exactly the same box, but each distribution of items are going to be guaranteed a certain amount of items. So the best bet in getting your full build asap is hitting your distributions!

I picked up the game a few months ago (around when the league season started last year) I didnt play much got to lvl 20 or such, I dropped it and went back to league at the time but I came back a few weeks ago, I did my placements yesterday and its my 1st experience into ranked and I'm grinding hard! Recently got into Eternal Return and have been watching a few beginner tip vids alongside playing Normals (solo and duo), and I've gotta say that the game being a cross between MOBA and Battle Royale does a good job of hiding that Eternal Return is actually a speedrunning game. I like going fast, DIYing, and routing; so I spent a ton of time working on my own loadout and route (playing AI to practice and refine) before even jumping into actual games. I'm glad to see that my first instinct with the game wasn't completely off-base. Now I just need to work on not falling behind in mastery in the mid-to-late game. I assume I just need to be more proactive on farming everything I can.
Yeah getting your build online is essentially speedrunning but I kinda feel that way about jungling in league or macro in other mobas too it's just super amplified in this game because it matches you against players who have already optimized everything!
Yes. This is what I wanted. Since you are answering questions, how do I know when to fight? lots of times my opponent has full build by 3 minutes or sometimes I have higher mastery but for some reason I always get beat. I just keep dying early to early-mid game getting rushed down
You can fight whenever you are full build! I look at mastery of other players using tab to see if I'm ahead or behind them! I like to fight at different times with different characters though! Like Xuikai or Nadine I don't fight much early but with nathapon or aya I would grief early game! I can take a look at ur games if u want!
Hello, relatively new player here. There are several games I won where I felt that I was in complete control of the fights, this is what worked FOR ME if it helps: oftentimes the build or mastery difference won't completely dictate the flow of the fight. Another large aspect depends on who you are playing, and who you are fighting (matchups). I highly recommend asking pro players who mains the same character as you for tips on this (discord or on reddit). **The longer answer** Again, I'm no pro. But here's an example: I play Jenny a LOT (two-tap skill amp build). And from what I experienced so far, I lose often against characters who can out-range or out-kite me (William, Zahir, Sniper Aya, Nathapon, etc.) So I don't really go all-in on them unless I know that they have wasted important high-cooldown skills or screwed up combos that would instantly mark my death. If I don't have information on this I'll try to bait them in (making sure I am prepared to survive - have play dead up, and since I have healing drone as augment, have my R up jic). Even then, with Jenny, I don't 100% go all-in unless I have all my skills up for a potential one shot rotation and I KNOW that they won't survive it. I just kind of kite - weaving in empowered autos + carpet or spotlight. Other times though, when there are still a lot of other players left in the map, I would just drop the fight entirely since I don't have confidence in winning. Speaking of dropping fights, you should also know to use your skills to run away and regroup when the fight isn't going in your favor. You can try again when you feel like you are more prepared (assuming this still isn't late game or in the final zone). This applies to other characters as well, and I have slight easier time fighting against melee characters who jump on you and go all-in (Yuki, Nicky, Jackie, Luke, etc.) I have experienced losing to them a hefty amount of times, that at this point, I already know their combos at heart. So I am aware when I should utilize Jenny's mobility to dodge which skills so that I have the upper hand. And yeah... having better food, transitional items, vision control, and Wick buff would help during late game fights. When I only have 1-2 items left in my saved plan (for my initial full build) I start looking out for the components to my transition items or ingredients for better food. This means contesting or stealing objectives when I have the chance. EDIT: I hope this gave you a better idea on what to keep in mind when looking for fights! Again, I'm still relatively new so it might not be the best advice but I have found most success with this knowledge.
Yeah it always depends. If i play Luke or crit Magnus i finish my weapon and start bonking but with other characters i try to avoid fights until the conditions are right like walls for Hyun, choke points for someone like Adri or simply an item/mastery diff. Youll get a hang of what fights you can and can not take. The thing that helped me the most is that mostly you arent locked into fights. Meaning if you see that it looks bad in a 1v1 you can escape pretty often. Or take your time while fighting, kiting a bit, waiting for your cooldowns etc. Of course depending on your character and things like speedfields between zones in the early.
Adritoma, we and friends are getting in the game lately and this channel has been really helpfull. Tough, I have a question. We are getting a lot of waiting time for queing to solo and duos games. We tried different servers and its around 20 mins to a match, sometimes even an hour. Is this normal, or is something broken with the new patch? Thanks in advance!
So I only really play duos on NA, and thats just the way it is. NA has *enough* of a playerbase to have matches, but not enough to where theres a healthy pool for all levels of play
Norms def isn't norma! Ranked queue it is! For squads or duos they might not pop in mornings for normal games on weekdays! Preseason less ppl play than regular season so I'm thinking it picks up! Hope that helps?
You might also be stuck in new player queue - normally it's there to prevent you from running into the cracked high elo players, but since the game's growth has been kinda slow, that queue wasn't populated as much. After a few matches you should be slipping into normal queues though, and from there on out you get to enjoy NA evening pops!
i played in an ER tournament with just 2 hours of play time xD and honestly i enjoyed it so much , that i want to improve so hard to go ham next time there is a tournament ! do u think u can help ? might make videos of everything x)

This video had lots of useful information thanks : D One question though, how fast do you unlock characters via in game currency, via daily quests and matches? I assume the level up rewards will end for me soon as I’m level 18 and I’m aware of the upcoming codes.
Yeah so I played pretty consistent and it look like a couple months to unlock the entire cast, but characters are also getting price reductions pretty much every patch. If you really want to unlock everyone as fast as you can, I would start with the cheapest and work your way up since the expensive characters prices are bound to dip. But yeah along with challenges and stuff battle pass has A Coin bonuses and double XP stuff. But you still get A Coin every time you level up no matter how high you are! TY for watching my vid too :)
As a new player it feels like one of the downsides to playing linear characters is that the people you're facing know your character is linear. Been playing Jackie because I love her executioner skin, but it definitely feels rough when it feels like every character has more movement options than me. 😅 Thanks for the video, just stumbled across your channel and I'm digging your content.

@@knightroartz3846 every game you play gets recorded! So you just have to go to info - match history - then click a game and then you will see a code! You can review codes on the match history screen as well!
Is it true that ranged character are far more superior in this game? Because i always play melee in any other games and go to reddit and a LOT of people also have the same issue. Even after looking up builds and learn pathing at that one specific character and that makes me to jump onto another melee character, samething happened.
Nope! Currently some of the melee characters like Felix or Jackie are the best in the game! I think people get really frustrated as melees against good range characters so that narrative happens! BUT there has def been ranged metas in the past!
How to deal with people forcing me to fight or camping the trleporter, causing me to be not full build before night 1? Do I just have to deal with it? What if I need Tree and I'm still not full build at night 1?
If I miss tree on a build I need it I probs won't fight anyone till next tree is up. I just make a temporary item for that slot and farm it up! If someone is camping TP I usually just wait it out and walk a good distance away. They should just let you on ur way! They are hard griefing u both if they keep camping it

i really want to like this game but they do a terrible job of explaining how to actually play. even after watching several videos i still dont really know the deal. then it seems the only people playing this game anymore are people who have been playing for a long time. I haven't even made it to night 1 because people just kill me immediately 🙄

Haha yeah and I still don’t. Just a few preference thing. Rarely makes a difference since you have so much off time in the game compared to like laning in league
Most characters are playable for new players. The only exceptions imo are Chole and Shoichi. If you are new those characters will slow you down siginifacantly learning the game. The reason why linar characters like jacky get recommended is because you can learn the game fundamentals without learning a character first. If you want to improve your gameplay those characters do it the fastest.
Yeah the only issue is if ppl are bored with linear characters they are just gonna drop the game. But I've seen a new player actually do pretty well on Chloe but yeah I get why people rec linear characters!

If you really want to unlock everyone as fast as you can, I would start with the cheapest and work your way up since the expensive characters prices are bound to dip. But yeah along with challenges and stuff battle pass has A Coin bonuses and double XP stuff. But you still get A Coin every time you level up no matter how high you are! TY for watching my vid too :)
As a new player it feels like one of the downsides to playing linear characters is that the people you're facing know your character is linear. Been playing Jackie because I love her executioner skin, but it definitely feels rough when it feels like every character has more movement options than me. 😅

@@knightroartz3846 every game you play gets recorded! So you just have to go to info - match history - then click a game and then you will see a code! You can review codes on the match history screen as well!

Is it true that ranged character are far more superior in this game? Because i always play melee in any other games and go to reddit and a LOT of people also have the same issue. Even after looking up builds and learn pathing at that one specific character and that makes me to jump onto another melee character, samething happened.
Nope! Currently some of the melee characters like Felix or Jackie are the best in the game! I think people get really frustrated as melees against good range characters so that narrative happens! BUT there has def been ranged metas in the past!

How to deal with people forcing me to fight or camping the trleporter, causing me to be not full build before night 1? Do I just have to deal with it? What if I need Tree and I'm still not full build at night 1?
If I miss tree on a build I need it I probs won't fight anyone till next tree is up. I just make a temporary item for that slot and farm it up! If someone is camping TP I usually just wait it out and walk a good distance away. They should just let you on ur way! They are hard griefing u both if they keep camping it

What does quick crafting do?
You bind craft to a button and you only have to press that button to craft rather than clicking each item!

i really want to like this game but they do a terrible job of explaining how to actually play. even after watching several videos i still dont really know the deal. then it seems the only people playing this game anymore are people who have been playing for a long time. I haven't even made it to night 1 because people just kill me immediately 🙄
there's actually a lot of new ppl that have been playing as of late but yeah the tutorial actually was a lot worse when I was playing! If you have any questions lemme know! The games a bitch to get a hang of but worth it when things click.

Haha yeah and I still don’t. Just a few preference thing. Rarely makes a difference since you have so much off time in the game compared to like laning in league

Most characters are playable for new players. The only exceptions imo are Chole and Shoichi. If you are new those characters will slow you down siginifacantly learning the game.
The reason why linar characters like jacky get recommended is because you can learn the game fundamentals without learning a character first. If you want to improve your gameplay those characters do it the fastest.
Yeah the only issue is if ppl are bored with linear characters they are just gonna drop the game. But I've seen a new player actually do pretty well on Chloe but yeah I get why people rec linear characters!
