- We have been ITCHING to go camping and we finally decided to make it happen! Chain of Lakes Campground was lovely and we had loads of fun, but don't just take my word for it. Enjoy the video, and drop a comment with your favorite camping tips & tricks! Thanks in advance and have a great week!
How to make Dough Boys (or whatever they are technically called 😆)
What You Need:
1 inch wooden dowel
1 roll of crescent rolls
Pie filling of your choice
Cooking spray
What To Do:
1. Spray the end of your dowel with cooking spray.
2. Wrap a crescent roll around the end, making sure there are no cracks or holes.
3. Roast over a campfire, they will get puffy and golden brown when they are cooked thoroughly.
4. Remove from dowel, careful, they're hot! if you used enough cooking spray they should slide right off!
5. Fill with pie filling of your choice and top with whipped cream!

I have always wanted to go camping. Did sleep in a tent one time on blow up mattress. It was nice.

Per search on the net woofum up sticks. They look yummy what ever you call them i know you can make something like that with pie irons called mountain pies I had made some with canned cinnamon rolls and put apple pie filling in them.
I put sliced cheese on my hotdog bun also. Sometimes I do bacon, lettuce, tomato, and ketchup on my hotdog bun also.

Here is my tip. Stay away from the campground on weekends unless you like crowds and all that goes with it. The park itself is great (trails, lakes). During the week camping is not so bad.
Where did you get that popcorn popper? I’ve never been successful at popping popcorn while camping.
I have never heard dough boy, nor have I ever seen that. I would absolutely love to know more about this. We practically live at the campground in the summer. I need to know what kind of pole Or rod or whatever it is called to get. Also what you put in them. I don’t know what the red ingredients were. And please tell me. How did you eat that without making a mess? Or did you and just not show that part? I really enjoy your videos. Thank you.
Dough Boy's are a staple campfire snack in my family! So the rod i used was a Dowel Rod, you can find them at most home improvement stores. Be sure to "season" the wood before you use it. The way we, (my family) have always done it is rub it with cooking oil of your choice, and let that soak in overnight or several hours. You only have to do this once, although you should spray the end with cooking spray before you apply the dough. SO SORRY, i forgot to mention what the 'red stuff' was! It is canned pie filling. You can use whatever your family likes, but i had red raspberry. Cherry is really good too! As far as eating them, they really aren't that messy! we like to hold them with a napkin, (theyre hot!) so that helps a lot! If you have any other questions, let me know!

No you are totally fine asking questions! The dough i used is the crescent rolls, they come in a tube and they are refrigerated. Most grocery stores carry them! Any brand works, there is no right or wrong kind to use😊 as far as the size, I dont remember, I would have to ask my husband... but it is completely up to you and how small/large you want your dough boys to be. Mine may be a 1 inch dowel? I'm not positive though!
@@Kim_Martin oh yum I love crescent rolls. I’m familiar with them. I don’t want to burn the rod. Lol I could easily see that happening with my boys. This may be a thing that only Mama uses for the boys! Ha. I really can’t wait to try this. I wish I had a campfire in my yard to try it out. Is that silly? Not that it matters I’m a kid at heart.
