You need to work out how much current each coil will draw. Measure the resistance of the winding with a simple multimeter, then, work out the current - current = Voltage/Resistance. Make sure the cable you're using can handle that amount of current, also, you'll need higher current rated cable as the voltage will drop over distance, reducing the efficiency of the electro magnets, plus, burn out the cable.
    Neat idea though 👍

@@drasticg I've no doubt it'll work, just that you may lose some of the efficiency from power loss. Then again, it could work a treat 👍 You can get simple multimeter's off Ebay for less than a tenner. 😉 I'm looking forward to see it working 🙂

      @@drasticg
I may have "spoken too soon". My (hobbyist) experience here is with old school, tube amplifier output transformers (OPTs). I've even wound my own using microwave oven transformers (MOTs). We are always careful to align Left & Right OPTs at 90deg. to each other to prevent electromagnetic "cross-talk" between the channels. Putting them "in-line" creates a much larger (combined) magnetic field and we do NOT want the L/R channels combined, obviously.
I realize that you've removed the secondary coil. You now have (what we would call) an inductor coil or choke. In my application, this is used to resist changes in current flow. In your application, it freely induces the magnetic field.
I'm thinking now, if the coils are all wound in the same direction, alignment may not matter. The winding direction matters because you want the magnets to "agree". (see the right-hand thumb rule) It seems that you've used identical MOTs and you've oriented the input terminals all the same. Shouldn't be a problem there. Let's say your "center post" is North, the outer legs would be South, the fields agree aaaand Bob's your uncle.
Somewhere (?) I have a Tesla (magnetic force) mapping software that I've used to space my transformers and HV circuits to eliminate exactly what your goal is. It shows graphically the relationships (influence) between nearby magnetic fields. Unfortunately, Elon Musk has ruined any web search for "Tesla mapping".
I have a dozen or so MOTs in the garage. Now I'm too curious and I'll have do some monkeying around this weekend. Two should be enough to do some orientation vs pull-test trials.
Keep in mind that your battery charger is current limited for protection, a car battery will NOT be limited and may dump outrageous current into the MOTs. Again, I'll do some dick'n about on this and post here.
Full disclosure... I'm a Tool & Die Maker and Mech. Eng. , electrical "toys" and electronics are merely a hobby of mine. I am certainly NOT an authority.
At any rate "G", I'm definitely a fan (and new subscriber) of your channel. You have a great attitude and manner about your presentation. Cheers from Canada !

I'd be more worried about the capasitor than the magnatron. An engineer working for Mark's and spencers was killed due to a shock off one a couple of years ago. You can Google it and read the story, they are so so dangerous, you have to cross the terminals on the capasitor to discharge it then it's safe to work with. Wow, that's a major departure from your usual stuff, I didn't know you were doing anything like this, what I will say is, the cable you used to connect the magnets together was normal 13 amp flex, you should have used something much thicker, because at 12 volts that could probably draw over 50 amps current, maybe more, you should have given it a decent dry, on land test before sealing it in resin.
What sort of pull will this have? More than one of your large magnets?

Hello. I used 12 volts and 12.5 currents. It got too hot after 20 minutes of operation. If I lower the current value, would I use it longer? Will I experience a decrease in my usage power? How much current should I use at most?

Did you wire the coils in parallel? Also, why did you leave the cores so tall? Seems you would want the cores to be nearly flush with the coils where the field is strongest.
