Exact same thing happened to me brother, Jeff. A few times... always around 3am. Not a waking dream. Though its terrifying when it happens, it always resolves rather quickly once you call out to Jesus. All praise to Christ Jesus for his tangible power over the dark.
That is crazy guys! - same thing happened to me twice in 2019 (around 3am) a couple weeks before I scheduled to be baptized at church. i remember literally sinking into my memory foam mattress and i couldn't breath or speak.. all I could do was tell it to leave in the Name of Jesus in my mind and it immediately stopped/fled.
I’ve been waiting my whole life for men of God to talk about aliens / demons in this way long over due in Gods perfect timing more light needs to be poured into these types of topics. Totally crazy and unbelievable experience but I'll tell it anyway...when I was 15 I was fishing in the creek by my childhood home and across the creek I saw the hat man and was completely paralyzed by fear. My friend who was w me didn't see it but my reaction to it was enough to convince him whatever I saw was terrifying. Saw him once more in my sleep about 10 years later standing in my bedroom doorway. I can't put into words the helplessness and fear it causes. I am now a believer in Jesus christ and at 33 years old he has redeemed me and given me a beautiful family and a fruitful life. No matter how dark my life was before him he loves me and shows me how to be a strong man and a good father 🙏 love and respect to you guys may God bless you and guide the people you serve 🙏
Jeff, I had the EXACT SAME experience happen to me when I was 16, at my Aunt's house right after she died. The only difference is that I heard it tell me DIRECTLY IN My ear that it was going to kill me, and I heard other, "smaller" voices laughing and egging it on. When I choked out, "In the name of Jesus...!" it IMMEDIATELY let up on me, but it didn't immediately go away. I heard this thing and its little buddies as they faded into the distance, screaming and shouting the worst blasphemies and filth I've ever heard, until they were finally gone. So, even if NO ONE else believes you, Jeff, I do, because it happened to me, too.

I don't really know why this looks new. It's a real common thing. Maybe it's cause we Christians over here acknowledge the spiritual and are ready to talk about it and fight against it.
So, I’ve had similar experience with the demonic as well. Not with the choking but a body paralysis and seeing a blue, lit up neon colored spider creature coming toward me in my bedroom. I felt this intense darkness similar to being at the abortion mill. As the creature came before me, I ended up calling out to Christ and demanding in Jesus’ name for this thing to be gone. Suddenly, a peace I recall experiencing when I believed the Gospel came on me, and the creature disappeared. I smiled and went back to sleep waking up rather refreshed.
I have had similar experiences as well. Shortly after being saved and beginning to dive into the word for myself, I woke up one night to being dragged off my bed. When I looked around there was no one there, but I was almost on the floor. The only thing I thought of to do was to pray, other times, I would wake up to my chest being pushed on or just the presence of utter rage and terror at the same time. It always stopped when I prayed in Jesus name. God is good. Thank you apologia for being willing to expose the darkness in a way that is biblical and helps us to understand what God’s will is for us in this aspect of life.

I kept listening because I’ve had multiple experiences with this. When I remember one of them there was figure in a hat, a top hat. So when you said that he wears a top hat, I began to cry. I’m just thankful that it was not in my head. That those things are real and that Jesus is our Saviour God and King! He protects. Praise God! Let’s keep sharing the Gospel together ❤
I suffered from sleep paralysis almost every night many years before I was saved, back when I had a heroin addiction. The feeling was so horrible, I couldn't speak or move or anything, and i thought i was going to die the more stronger the feeling got. At the same time i would feel a very dark, evil presence in the room just waiting for me to leave my body so it could enter. (This is the sense that i got every time) A few times I even left my body, and would find myself up on the ceiling or partially out of my body before being snapped back into myself and waking up. It was also often accompanied by bizarre and very loud sounds, like smashing and crashing of metal or really loud, heavy metal music, or weird UFO-like sounds (or at least how they are depicted as sounding). It hasn't happened for years now, though sometimes -very rarely - as I'm snoozing off in my chair watching videos, I'll feel it coming on very lightly, but it never manifests properly. It was one of the most frightening things I've ever experienced in my life. Thank you Lord Jesus for your protection!
I’m really enjoying listening to solid Christians engaging in this topic, and am a big fan of both this show and the Haunted Cosmos podcast. I heard Steven Greer comment in a video the other day that he has been telling David Grusch a lot of things and I’m not sure I’m happy to hear this. Dr Greer is one of the ones I would include in the ‘nuts’ category, but also one who is definitely involved in a spiritually demonic way, even though I don’t think he realises it.
Had the same what Jeff had twice in my life, both cases called on the name of Jesus and entity let go of me. oddly after some time i became athiest (funny enough i knew i was hellbound) I attempted to seek out the entities or to have the same encounters with them to "talk" with them. But by the grace and mercy of God i didnt have any anyomre. and through prayers of family and friends, I returned to Jesus and repented of my willing sin and desire to pursue the satanic. God is more real than this world, and Jesus is King.!
I’ve had the same thing happen to me a few times with waking up being choked or attacked or something heavy on my chest. Always trying to keep me from calling out to Jesus. The minute I get his name out it releases me and is gone. There is power in the name of Jesus!
Wow, I had consistent sleep paralysis when I was Roman Catholic and never connected those dots. I’m now saved and can’t remember the last time it happened….Praise God and thank you for talking about these connections. Too many people take it lightly!

I suffer from sleep paralysis from time to time. I've had it for a number of years - can't remember when I first experienced it, but it's probably been nearly forty years...since I was in my 20s, if not before. It's not a choking feeling nor do I sense any "presence," but I would characterize it more as the feeling of being awake mentally but only capable of opening my eyes with great effort. I pray and concentrate all my energy on moving my head, for I know that if I can just move my head then my body will wake up too. I've never really associated it with anything demonic, yet it is a deeply unpleasant experience, and I could never just drift back to sleep in that state without first waking up completely. I don't know what if anything triggers it, but sometimes I wonder if it could be brought on by being overtired.
I’ve had similar experiences as you. I would say the most common feeling I get is uneasiness during an episode. I’m conscious but can’t move. I always feel like I’m not alone and there is fear involved. I concentrate on trying to make a noise. I can’t speak words but If I concentrate I can make sounds which wakes my husband up. After an episode I have to get up and move around to be fully awake before I try and go back to sleep.
I saw two white orbs hovering over my backyard watching me and my family in the garden. When I happened to look up and saw them, they bolted and vanished into thin air. Edit: it's worth mentioning that at that moment I was thinking about whether I should baptize my son, he was 5 at the time and I hadn't come to a concrete understanding of baptism yet.
My first encounter with the figure with the hat was at 3 years old. I held that in for many years. Once I found out there were others who experienced the same thing, I couldn’t rationalize it. Almost lost my mind. My first out of body experience was at 3 as well. The devil does not discriminate.
I believe you it happened to me. I also was choked with the light on Jeff. I know your not making this up brother. I got Jesus out also and it stopped. I was wide awake as it was happening by the way. Then I had something slapping my feet and waking me up terrified. Blessed my house in Jesus name and it went away. To this day I keep my feet covered!!!!!
Thank you for talking about "sleep paralysis" - it's happened to me & it's insanely frustrating to have ppl try to explain away this kind of demonic experience via something "science-y-sounding". I have had these experiences for a very long time, ever since I was a kid and I know it’s demonic. The last one I had was a couple of months ago. I went to sleep and I remember something in my dream like a person falling over on me, my husband woke up to me fighting in my sleep and he said there was a black figure on top of me and he said it was pitch black even in the dark. When he grabbed me to wake me, he said it shot out of the room straight through our wall. I was terrified and I still get scared thinking about it. I had my father come and bless my home and I sleep with the Bible playing every night. Every time I get an episode I say Jesus’s name even if it’s in my head and it stops immediately. I know they exist and I know God exists as well.
Recently I woke up in a similar manner during a time when I was trying to strenghten my relationship with the lord after being far away from the Lord. Its almost like it was mad I was turning back to God.
It indeed was! In my teen years I experienced a ton of demonic attacks after hearing the gospel for the first time. But it only brought me closer to God.
I had a similar experience shortly after being saved. I was sleeping and I heard what sounded like a train approaching (minus the train horn). This wasn’t too alarming to me because I lived near the train tracks, but then the sound grew louder and louder. It turned into a loud wailing and screaming into my ears. I tried to wake up but I couldn’t. After I called out to Jesus, it stopped. The next night I was reading the Bible, and I was worried about going to sleep out of fear of it happening again. I heard a strong thought saying “if you don’t deny Jesus, we will continue doing this to you every night.” I rebuked it and prayed for God to protect me in my sleep and it’s never happened again.
Jeff, I knew you were a charismatic! Great story. Same thing happened to me in Colorado in 2016 in a hotel while I was on a road trip. Looks like many people in the comments are saying the same thing. It’s happened to many in the body of Christ. Fight on brother!
Unfortunately, the american charismatic movement has been turned into a joke, a circus act, by irresponsible leaders that have allowed the demonic manifest in their churches. The spirit realm is very real. "My sheep hear My voice", there are "living creatures in heaven", "demonic legions were cast into pigs", as Peter walked, "his shadow healed those it came in contact", "philip was transported to minister to the enoch and then disappeared".... to name a few There's a lot in this natural science in this world we have not discovered. I'm sure secret gov. agencies have engaged in genetic manipulation, we have yet to witness.
Sleep paralysis is something that happened to me so frequently before I was saved. Since being saved it’s maybe happened three times in a year and a half as opposed to a couple of times a week. But it does always seem to be some sort of attack when it does happen now.
Have you been given a sleep test? I was having sleep paralysis episodes as well as episodes where I woke up gasping. I was unable to fall asleep during my sleep test but the doctor still determined I had sleep apnea. I lost weight and started sleeping on my side and it hasn't happened since.
Sleep paralysis happens when you're body sleeping but your mind is awake. If it's anything demonic, why would God allow it when you're just trying to sleep? I've experienced it in the past, but only when sleeping on my back.
I woke up thinking that I was dying with a huge amount of pressure on my chest. And when I woke up and started using my arms to push something off my chest thank God that my 70 pound PitBull was the one with both front paws standing on my chest. I couldn’t imagine not being able to see or touch anything and then it getting worse. I’m glad that in my case it was just an emergency bathroom break needed. I had sleep paralysis a couple of times with something coming into my room and sitting on my bed. After those 2 nights I saw a demonic face come up to mine while I was lying in bed, told it to get out in the name of Jesus and it took off quick as could be. Slept with a night light on for about a year after that.
Yup happened to me and still happens to some family members. Mine was resolved with trusting in The Lord Jesus and calling out His Name. Although I struggled always to call out Jesus. It’s like I could not speak and had to fight to get out the Name of Jesus.
@@marymackay4 it's very normal to not be able to speak in this state, may I suggest that instead of fighting it ask for the lord to help you and say Jesus name without speaking, of course in presence of that darkness it's not easy to control yourself, personally I just try to say the lords name the second it happens
Sleep paralysis means you can’t move or speak though right? If you are able to move and speak it wouldn’t be called sleep paralysis. I have also had similar experiences but it wasn’t sleep paralysis because I could move, cover my head with a blanket or scream. Only sleeping with my Bible would make them stop b
May I ask about the pain because I believe I'm going thru the same.I get a second or so of pain somewhere on my body,skin and sometimes the pain will increase if I ignore it.ive had many experiences with this..I hear walking and can tell when it's near me,the shivers go right thru me.I also have my bed,couch shake(vibrate)no matter where I sleep

As a Bible believing charismatic, I almost passed this up, but I have been seeing my interest in this topic grow, so I thought I would see what you cessassionist leaders might say about this. Jeff's story about being choked while sleeping really encouraged me. Maybe these demonic alien Ephesians 6:10-17 appearances will bring about the Unity in the Body of Christ I have been praying for the last 25 years.

Had one of the 3am situations about 20 years ago (was an atheist back then). I was woke up feeling scared, after watching exorcism of Emily Rose. As I lay awake in bed, I was trying to take my mind of the fear and was hoping it wasn't 3am. I had the window open as I'm a warm sleeper. At the back of my old house there is a church on the hill and I heard the chimes starting. It rang 3 times and stopped, my heart was beating so fast at that moment. Then I could feel an intense feeling like there was something present in my room, at the bottom of my bed. I feel the sensation of my blanket starting to lift up slightly and then this rush of movement and I was pressed into the bed (im a stomach sleeper), I used all my strength trying to resist it and forcing myself to get up. All of a sudden it ceased and I was free, ALL of my energy was gone. I felt completely drained and had no strength left. Years later I thought that it was sleep paralysis, but it couldnt have been. Because I was awake for a few mins before the experience and remembered moving around quite a lot to make sure i was tucked in my duvet properly.
Hey Jeff. I'm definitely open to regarding that 3am experience as spiritual especially given the ministry context. To take care of the physical side of things, too, though, try 1) quarter teaspoon of salt in water before bed [less having to pee at night], 2) try mouth taping to ensure nasal breathing--Somnifix or MyoTape or Hostage tape brands; 3) try Buteyko method relaxed, slightly reduced volume breathing; 4) sleep on your side rather than your back. You will breathe, sleep, and feel better! God bless.
In Togo (small country in West Africa) a number of years ago I had a similar choking sensation combined with an overwhelming feeling of hopelessness. It immediately went away after I prayed out loud in the name (power and authority) of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, the Son of the living God, the second Person of the Trinity. Just wanted to be extra specific so whatever it was choking me knew who was with me.
I’ve had two explicitly spiritual experiences in my life. One was several months ongoing and the other was a singular experience, both with my father. The ongoing experience was with Shadow Figures showing themselves to us in my dads old house. They would peak around corners and move things in our house. Eventually, I woke up at 3 AM to use the restroom. I walked to bathroom and noticed the computer light in the back room came on. When I walked in to investigate, an at least nine foot, completely black, shadow person showed himself to me. He towered over me for several seconds, “smiled” at me and disappeared. The second was a crazily bright white/blue pulsing light that followed my dad and I after we had spent the day packing up my grandfathers home, after he was killed. Eventually this light shot up in to the sky SO FAST and so far that the entire sky was pulsing the same light. We were in the middle of nowhere in west Texas, driving down I20. Obviously, there is more to these stories, but that’s the gist.
Micheal Heiser, the Christian OT scholar who recently passed away, has a few books on the subject of angels, demons and supernatural in the Bible. Look it up. He also has UA-cam seminars.
He has a non fiction series on them as well. I read the first one and it was excellent. Huge fan of Heiser, he would have been a huge asset in this field as more of this nonsense unfolds
Two years ago I gave my life to the Lord, soon after I began having vivid night terrors. I started calling on the name of Jesus and would wake up almost immediately every time . There was one time when something was blocking my voice and choking me, it was whispering into my ear to say the name, to say the name of the one who could save me. It was taunting me to say His name and laughing at my inability to do so. The voice kept telling me that I wasn’t worthy of my salvation, that I was too far gone. I eventually got my voice and called on the name of Jesus. I went to church the next day and talked to my Pastor, he said something very similar happened to him when he came to the Lord, one thing we both had in common is that we both dabbled in the occult prior to our salvation. Jeff, there’s a reason why it chokes. It wants to keep you from speaking, it’s a scare tactic against the great commission.
I am so hyped that more Christians are finally starting to openly talk about this stuff. This shouldn't be just a Charismatic thing. We need to reclaim the Reformed preaching on spiritual warfare and spiritual matters.

I will be honest, I guess I hadn’t realized attacks like this are looked at as being associated with charismatic Christianity. I grew up in a very conservative church that was in no way charismatic. However we were taught about demonic attacks. People openly talked about this. One person talked about seeing a black figure late at night (it was in our church sanctuary after bell choir practice). Another story was from the youth pastor and sensing a demonic attack at a youth overnighter while they were talking about demonic attacks. He was warning us about being diligent. Is that sort of teaching a rare thing to have outside of a charismatic church? I just never associated these attacks like Jeff had that way unless they are talking more about exorcisms or calling out spirits in charismatic churches.
I have had several demonic attacks and encounters. As soon as I cry out to Jesus it ends. Spiritual warfare is real. They can influence your thoughts, feelings, and even present themselves to you. I have felt true hatred when faced with a demon- cold, true, total hatred. I wouldn't wish it upon anyone but ultimately it led me to Jesus!

Just a note that there are many many cases across the paranormal in which physical objects have appeared during supernatural events from people vomiting objects during possessions, objects burned by ghosts, letters written by spirits and much more. In July of 1994, before I was a Christian, me and my ex were attacked by the Hat Man while riding our bikes at night on Kean Rd in Hickory Hills, IL. The Hat Man was extremely tall. He wore a long black coat and a top-hat. It had no face or distinguishable facial features, just blackness. It literally tried to snatch me off my bike. I arched my back and rode as fast as my legs could pump. The road was cut off by the expressway about 2 blocks down, so we had to get off our bikes. When we looked down the street to see if it was following us, we could see it wrestling with something that we could not see. It was as if another force was restraining it.

Around 53:45 you start talking about the "hat man" and it made me pause the video and pray because when I was a child, and not a believer, I had a reoccurring dream for a few years about a "hat man" that started out in the distance from window; barely visible, but as time went by and more dreams came, the hat man was constantly getting closer and closer until he was standing right outside my window. He wore a top hat and was always looking straight at me even though I couldn't see his face. One day; long ago, I just simply stopped having those dreams but they lasted over a few years and I had forgotten about this until you guys brought it up. I'm a born again believer and I trust wholly in Jesus as my Lord and Savior, but I just found this really interesting; and unsettling, because I did not know this was so common and specific.
I have 100% had a dream similar to Jeff’s and the same thing happened nothing made it go away until I rebuked it in the name of Jesus and it immediately disappeared.
The demon with the black hat is apparently a very common story. My friend's daughter told me that a man with a black hat accompanied her until she was around 14 years old. Then he just disappeared. Her parents both practiced witchcraft. She didn't know what it was.
I saw something in the 90's that went against physics, at least everything in my experience. It was like a cross between something realistic in flight and way beyond at the same time, something not possible. It did not fit anything in my former years in the military, nor of anything since. That was during my first years in pastoring. Good to be talking of biblical reasoning in this matter.
Man, when you guys were talking about distrust of the government around the 38:30 mark, I immediately thought of Romans 13, submission to authority. I gotta be honest that's a tough one! If anyone has any thoughts on that I'd love to hear. Am I missing something?
Shortly after my husband and I married I saw a figure come over the end of my bed, float over me and choke me, it was different though. Legless, just floating but like a cape with a hood all black I could not see a face it was just black. I was reaching out for my husband but he swears I didn't touch him. I tried to say Jesus, I honestly dont know if words came out but it vanished. I was bawling afterward and scared to back to sleep. It was 15 years ago and I still remember it like yesterday.

Hey Jeff, A very long story short, or hope to make it short(er). Sleep paralysis infused with terror happened to me three times back in December of 2014, before I ever came to really have a Biblical worldview. Each time it happened it was on a Monday, it happened three consecutive weeks in a row, and every time it was at this hotel I stayed at for work. The first time, had no idea what was going on. I woke up terrified, not that I started to get terrified because I was awake and couldn't move, but woke up with terror, did not know why, somehow ignored the whole thing and fell back asleep. The second time, out of nowhere, had absolutely no reason to because I didn't take the Bible seriously at that point in my life, I experienced one of the strangest things perhaps ever, and I don't mean the demonic aspect of the whole thing, and that was the being compelled to call out to Jesus Christ for help. I mean it's as if someone forced me to call out to Him for help, yet at the same time I know I was the one did it, I wish I could better convey it. But anyway, when I did, the experience immediately stopped, and I was overcome with tranquility, I fell back asleep, woke up, and somehow just didn't think too much of it. The third time it happened, I remembered what helped before, and so I called out to Christ again, and I was calmed, and suddenly it came back again a few moment later, and again I called out, and then it stopped. And after that night, everything changed, and the Bible became something to take seriously. Relevant additional information note: when I called out for help, I did it in my mind/head, because during the experience I couldn't speak, or move, besides just my eyes.

Exact same thing happened to me brother, Jeff. A few times... always around 3am. Not a waking dream. Though its terrifying when it happens, it always resolves rather quickly once you call out to Jesus. All praise to Christ Jesus for his tangible power over the dark.

Totally crazy and unbelievable experience but I'll tell it anyway...when I was 15 I was fishing in the creek by my childhood home and across the creek I saw the hat man and was completely paralyzed by fear. My friend who was w me didn't see it but my reaction to it was enough to convince him whatever I saw was terrifying. Saw him once more in my sleep about 10 years later standing in my bedroom doorway. I can't put into words the helplessness and fear it causes. I am now a believer in Jesus christ and at 33 years old he has redeemed me and given me a beautiful family and a fruitful life. No matter how dark my life was before him he loves me and shows me how to be a strong man and a good father 🙏 love and respect to you guys may God bless you and guide the people you serve 🙏

Jeff, I had the EXACT SAME experience happen to me when I was 16, at my Aunt's house right after she died. The only difference is that I heard it tell me DIRECTLY IN My ear that it was going to kill me, and I heard other, "smaller" voices laughing and egging it on. When I choked out, "In the name of Jesus...!" it IMMEDIATELY let up on me, but it didn't immediately go away. I heard this thing and its little buddies as they faded into the distance, screaming and shouting the worst blasphemies and filth I've ever heard, until they were finally gone.
So, even if NO ONE else believes you, Jeff, I do, because it happened to me, too.

So, I’ve had similar experience with the demonic as well.
Not with the choking but a body paralysis and seeing a blue, lit up neon colored spider creature coming toward me in my bedroom. I felt this intense darkness similar to being at the abortion mill. As the creature came before me, I ended up calling out to Christ and demanding in Jesus’ name for this thing to be gone. Suddenly, a peace I recall experiencing when I believed the Gospel came on me, and the creature disappeared. I smiled and went back to sleep waking up rather refreshed.

I have had similar experiences as well. Shortly after being saved and beginning to dive into the word for myself, I woke up one night to being dragged off my bed. When I looked around there was no one there, but I was almost on the floor. The only thing I thought of to do was to pray, other times, I would wake up to my chest being pushed on or just the presence of utter rage and terror at the same time. It always stopped when I prayed in Jesus name. God is good. Thank you apologia for being willing to expose the darkness in a way that is biblical and helps us to understand what God’s will is for us in this aspect of life.

I kept listening because I’ve had multiple experiences with this. When I remember one of them there was figure in a hat, a top hat. So when you said that he wears a top hat, I began to cry. I suffered from sleep paralysis almost every night many years before I was saved, back when I had a heroin addiction. The feeling was so horrible, I couldn't speak or move or anything, and i thought i was going to die the more stronger the feeling got. At the same time i would feel a very dark, evil presence in the room just waiting for me to leave my body so it could enter. (This is the sense that i got every time) A few times I even left my body, and would find myself up on the ceiling or partially out of my body before being snapped back into myself and waking up. It was also often accompanied by bizarre and very loud sounds, like smashing and crashing of metal or really loud, heavy metal music, or weird UFO-like sounds (or at least how they are depicted as sounding).
It hasn't happened for years now, though sometimes -very rarely - as I'm snoozing off in my chair watching videos, I'll feel it coming on very lightly, but it never manifests properly. It was one of the most frightening things I've ever experienced in my life. Thank you Lord Jesus for your protection!
I’m really enjoying listening to solid Christians engaging in this topic, and am a big fan of both this show and the Haunted Cosmos podcast. I heard Steven Greer comment in a video the other day that he has been telling David Grusch a lot of things and I’m not sure I’m happy to hear this. Dr Greer is one of the ones I would include in the ‘nuts’ category, but also one who is definitely involved in a spiritually demonic way, even though I don’t think he realises it.

Had the same what Jeff had twice in my life, both cases called on the name of Jesus and entity let go of me. oddly after some time i became athiest (funny enough i knew i was hellbound) I attempted to seek out the entities or to have the same encounters with them to "talk" with them. But by the grace and mercy of God i didnt have any anyomre. and through prayers of family and friends, I returned to Jesus and repented of my willing sin and desire to pursue the satanic. God is more real than this world, and Jesus is King.!

I suffer from sleep paralysis from time to time. I've had it for a number of years - can't remember when I first experienced it, but it's probably been nearly forty years...since I was in my 20s, if not before. It's not a choking feeling nor do I sense any "presence," but I would characterize it more as the feeling of being awake mentally but only capable of opening my eyes with great effort. I pray and concentrate all my energy on moving my head, for I know that if I can just move my head then my body will wake up too. I've never really associated it with anything demonic, yet it is a deeply unpleasant experience, and I could never just drift back to sleep in that state without first waking up completely. I don't know what if anything triggers it, but sometimes I wonder if it could be brought on by being overtired.
I’ve had similar experiences as you. I would say the most common feeling I get is uneasiness during an episode. I’m conscious but can’t move. I always feel like I’m not alone and there is fear involved. I concentrate on trying to make a noise. I can’t speak words but If I concentrate I can make sounds which wakes my husband up. After an episode I have to get up and move around to be fully awake before I try and go back to sleep.
Please call to Jesus and your horrible experiences will stop in an instant - I had many similar experiences. God bless you

I saw two white orbs hovering over my backyard watching me and my family in the garden. When I happened to look up and saw them, they bolted and vanished into thin air.
Edit: it's worth mentioning that at that moment I was thinking about whether I should baptize my son, he was 5 at the time and I hadn't come to a concrete understanding of baptism yet.
My first encounter with the figure with the hat was at 3 years old. I held that in for many years. Once I found out there were others who experienced the same thing, I couldn’t rationalize it. Almost lost my mind. My first out of body experience was at 3 as well. The devil does not discriminate.
I believe you it happened to me. I also was choked with the light on Jeff. I know your not making this up brother. I got Jesus out also and it stopped. I was wide awake as it was happening by the way. Then I had something slapping my feet and waking me up terrified. Blessed my house in Jesus name and it went away. To this day I keep my feet covered!!!!!

I have had these experiences for a very long time, ever since I was a kid and I know it’s demonic. The last one I had was a couple of months ago. I went to sleep and I remember something in my dream like a person falling over on me, my husband woke up to me fighting in my sleep and he said there was a black figure on top of me and he said it was pitch black even in the dark. When he grabbed me to wake me, he said it shot out of the room straight through our wall. I was terrified and I still get scared thinking about it. I had my father come and bless my home and I sleep with the Bible playing every night. Every time I get an episode I say Jesus’s name even if it’s in my head and it stops immediately. I know they exist and I know God exists as well.

Recently I woke up in a similar manner during a time when I was trying to strenghten my relationship with the lord after being far away from the Lord. Its almost like it was mad I was turning back to God.
It indeed was! In my teen years I experienced a ton of demonic attacks after hearing the gospel for the first time. But it only brought me closer to God.
I had a similar experience shortly after being saved. I was sleeping and I heard what sounded like a train approaching (minus the train horn). This wasn’t too alarming to me because I lived near the train tracks, but then the sound grew louder and louder. It turned into a loud wailing and screaming into my ears. I tried to wake up but I couldn’t. After I called out to Jesus, it stopped. The next night I was reading the Bible, and I was worried about going to sleep out of fear of it happening again. I heard a strong thought saying “if you don’t deny Jesus, we will continue doing this to you every night.” I rebuked it and prayed for God to protect me in my sleep and it’s never happened again.
Jeff, I knew you were a charismatic! Great story. Same thing happened to me in Colorado in 2016 in a hotel while I was on a road trip. Looks like many people in the comments are saying the same thing. It’s happened to many in the body of Christ. Fight on brother!

Sleep paralysis is something that happened to me so frequently before I was saved. Since being saved it’s maybe happened three times in a year and a half as opposed to a couple of times a week. But it does always seem to be some sort of attack when it does happen now.

Have you been given a sleep test? I was having sleep paralysis episodes as well as episodes where I woke up gasping. I was unable to fall asleep during my sleep test but the doctor still determined I had sleep apnea. I lost weight and started sleeping on my side and it hasn't happened since.
Sleep paralysis happens when you're body sleeping but your mind is awake. If it's anything demonic, why would God allow it when you're just trying to sleep? I've experienced it in the past, but only when sleeping on my back.
I woke up thinking that I was dying with a huge amount of pressure on my chest. And when I woke up and started using my arms to push something off my chest thank God that my 70 pound PitBull was the one with both front paws standing on my chest. I couldn’t imagine not being able to see or touch anything and then it getting worse. I’m glad that in my case it was just an emergency bathroom break needed. I had sleep paralysis a couple of times with something coming into my room and sitting on my bed. After those 2 nights I saw a demonic face come up to mine while I was lying in bed, told it to get out in the name of Jesus and it took off quick as could be. Slept with a night light on for about a year after that.
Yup happened to me and still happens to some family members. Mine was resolved with trusting in The Lord Jesus and calling out His Name. Although I struggled always to call out Jesus. It’s like I could not speak and had to fight to get out the Name of Jesus.
@@marymackay4 it's very normal to not be able to speak in this state, may I suggest that instead of fighting it ask for the lord to help you and say Jesus name without speaking, of course in presence of that darkness it's not easy to control yourself, personally I just try to say the lords name the second it happens

Sleep paralysis means you can’t move or speak though right? If you are able to move and speak it wouldn’t be called sleep paralysis. I have also had similar experiences but it wasn’t sleep paralysis because I could move, cover my head with a blanket or scream. Only sleeping with my Bible would make them stop b

Amen Jeff, I've had similar experiences of the demonic inflicting pain on me as I am partially asleep.
May I ask about the pain because I believe I'm going thru the same.I get a second or so of pain somewhere on my body,skin and sometimes the pain will increase if I ignore it.ive had many experiences with this..I hear walking and can tell when it's near me,the shivers go right thru me.I also have my bed,couch shake(vibrate)no matter where I sleep

As a Bible believing charismatic, I almost passed this up, but I have been seeing my interest in this topic grow, so I thought I would see what you cessassionist leaders might say about this. Jeff's story about being choked while sleeping really encouraged me. Maybe these demonic alien Ephesians 6:10-17 appearances will bring about the Unity in the Body of Christ I have been praying for the last 25 years.

Had one of the 3am situations about 20 years ago (was an atheist back then). I was woke up feeling scared, after watching exorcism of Emily Rose. As I lay awake in bed, I was trying to take my mind of the fear and was hoping it wasn't 3am. I had the window open as I'm a warm sleeper. At the back of my old house there is a church on the hill and I heard the chimes starting. It rang 3 times and stopped, my heart was beating so fast at that moment. Then I could feel an intense feeling like there was something present in my room, at the bottom of my bed. I feel the sensation of my blanket starting to lift up slightly and then this rush of movement and I was pressed into the bed (im a stomach sleeper), I used all my strength trying to resist it and forcing myself to get up. All of a sudden it ceased and I was free, ALL of my energy was gone. I felt completely drained and had no strength left. Years later I thought that it was sleep paralysis, but it couldnt have been. Because I was awake for a few mins before the experience and remembered moving around quite a lot to make sure i was tucked in my duvet properly.

To take care of the physical side of things, too, though, try 1) quarter teaspoon of salt in water before bed [less having to pee at night], 2) try mouth taping to ensure nasal breathing--Somnifix or MyoTape or Hostage tape brands; 3) try Buteyko method relaxed, slightly reduced volume breathing; 4) sleep on your side rather than your back.

In Togo (small country in West Africa) a number of years ago I had a similar choking sensation combined with an overwhelming feeling of hopelessness. It immediately went away after I prayed out loud in the name (power and authority) of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, the Son of the living God, the second Person of the Trinity. Just wanted to be extra specific so whatever it was choking me knew who was with me.
I’ve had two explicitly spiritual experiences in my life. One was several months ongoing and the other was a singular experience, both with my father. The ongoing experience was with Shadow Figures showing themselves to us in my dads old house. They would peak around corners and move things in our house. Eventually, I woke up at 3 AM to use the restroom. I walked to bathroom and noticed the computer light in the back room came on. When I walked in to investigate, an at least nine foot, completely black, shadow person showed himself to me. He towered over me for several seconds, “smiled” at me and disappeared. The second was a crazily bright white/blue pulsing light that followed my dad and I after we had spent the day packing up my grandfathers home, after he was killed. Eventually this light shot up in to the sky SO FAST and so far that the entire sky was pulsing the same light. We were in the middle of nowhere in west Texas, driving down I20. Obviously, there is more to these stories, but that’s the gist.
Micheal Heiser, the Christian OT scholar who recently passed away, has a few books on the subject of angels, demons and supernatural in the Bible. Look it up. He also has UA-cam seminars.
He has a non fiction series on them as well. I read the first one and it was excellent. Huge fan of Heiser, he would have been a huge asset in this field as more of this nonsense unfolds
Two years ago I gave my life to the Lord, soon after I began having vivid night terrors. I started calling on the name of Jesus and would wake up almost immediately every time . There was one time when something was blocking my voice and choking me, it was whispering into my ear to say the name, to say the name of the one who could save me. It was taunting me to say His name and laughing at my inability to do so. The voice kept telling me that I wasn’t worthy of my salvation, that I was too far gone. I eventually got my voice and called on the name of Jesus. I went to church the next day and talked to my Pastor, he said something very similar happened to him when he came to the Lord, one thing we both had in common is that we both dabbled in the occult prior to our salvation.
Jeff, there’s a reason why it chokes. It wants to keep you from speaking, it’s a scare tactic against the great commission.

I will be honest, I guess I hadn’t realized attacks like this are looked at as being associated with charismatic Christianity. I grew up in a very conservative church that was in no way charismatic. However we were taught about demonic attacks. People openly talked about this. One person talked about seeing a black figure late at night (it was in our church sanctuary after bell choir practice). Another story was from the youth pastor and sensing a demonic attack at a youth overnighter while they were talking about demonic attacks. He was warning us about being diligent.
Is that sort of teaching a rare thing to have outside of a charismatic church? I just never associated these attacks like Jeff had that way unless they are talking more about exorcisms or calling out spirits in charismatic churches.

I have had several demonic attacks and encounters. As soon as I cry out to Jesus it ends. Spiritual warfare is real. They can influence your thoughts, feelings, and even present themselves to you. I have felt true hatred when faced with a demon- cold, true, total hatred. I wouldn't wish it upon anyone but ultimately it led me to Jesus!

In July of 1994, before I was a Christian, me and my ex were attacked by the Hat Man while riding our bikes at night on Kean Rd in Hickory Hills, IL. The Hat Man was extremely tall. He wore a long black coat and a top-hat. It had no face or distinguishable facial features, just blackness. It literally tried to snatch me off my bike. I arched my back and rode as fast as my legs could pump. The road was cut off by the expressway about 2 blocks down, so we had to get off our bikes. When we looked down the street to see if it was following us, we could see it wrestling with something that we could not see. It was as if another force was restraining it.

Trusting in God and His strength and goodness. Around 53:45 you start talking about the "hat man" and it made me pause the video and pray because when I was a child, and not a believer, I had a reoccurring dream for a few years about a "hat man" that started out in the distance from window; barely visible, but as time went by and more dreams came, the hat man was constantly getting closer and closer until he was standing right outside my window. He wore a top hat and was always looking straight at me even though I couldn't see his face. One day; long ago, I just simply stopped having those dreams but they lasted over a few years and I had forgotten about this until you guys brought it up. I'm a born again believer and I trust wholly in Jesus as my Lord and Savior, but I just found this really interesting; and unsettling, because I did not know this was so common and specific.
I have 100% had a dream similar to Jeff’s and the same thing happened nothing made it go away until I rebuked it in the name of Jesus and it immediately disappeared.

The demon with the black hat is apparently a very common story. My friend's daughter told me that a man with a black hat accompanied her until she was around 14 years old. Then he just disappeared. Her parents both practiced witchcraft. She didn't know what it was.

I saw something in the 90's that went against physics, at least everything in my experience. It was like a cross between something realistic in flight and way beyond at the same time, something not possible. It did not fit anything in my former years in the military, nor of anything since. That was during my first years in pastoring. Good to be talking of biblical reasoning in this matter.
Man, when you guys were talking about distrust of the government around the 38:30 mark, I immediately thought of Romans 13, submission to authority. I gotta be honest that's a tough one! If anyone has any thoughts on that I'd love to hear. Am I missing something?
Well we have to follow the laws of the government as long as its not sinful behavior. Also we don't technically have to be blindly trusting.
Shortly after my husband and I married I saw a figure come over the end of my bed, float over me and choke me, it was different though. Legless, just floating but like a cape with a hood all black I could not see a face it was just black. I was reaching out for my husband but he swears I didn't touch him. I tried to say Jesus, I honestly dont know if words came out but it vanished. I was bawling afterward and scared to back to sleep. It was 15 years ago and I still remember it like yesterday.
Amen. Yes they are out there. Jesus tells us we do not fight against flesh and blood. They stay right on all of us. The ones that let’s them.

Hey Jeff, A very long story short, or hope to make it short(er). Sleep paralysis infused with terror happened to me three times back in December of 2014, before I ever came to really have a Biblical worldview. Each time it happened it was on a Monday, it happened three consecutive weeks in a row, and every time it was at this hotel I stayed at for work.
The first time, had no idea what was going on. I woke up terrified, not that I started to get terrified because I was awake and couldn't move, but woke up with terror, did not know why, somehow ignored the whole thing and fell back asleep. The second time, out of nowhere, had absolutely no reason to because I didn't take the Bible seriously at that point in my life, I experienced one of the strangest things perhaps ever, and I don't mean the demonic aspect of the whole thing, and that was the being compelled to call out to Jesus Christ for help. I mean it's as if someone forced me to call out to Him for help, yet at the same time I know I was the one did it, I wish I could better convey it. But anyway, when I did, the experience immediately stopped, and I was overcome with tranquility, I fell back asleep, woke up, and somehow just didn't think too much of it. The third time it happened, I remembered what helped before, and so I called out to Christ again, and I was calmed, and suddenly it came back again a few moment later, and again I called out, and then it stopped. And after that night, everything changed, and the Bible became something to take seriously.
Relevant additional information note: when I called out for help, I did it in my mind/head, because during the experience I couldn't speak, or move, besides just my eyes.
