    Bro this is horrible. I had a similar experience with a shop in Arlington, WA called Powerstroke Customs. I normally do all my own work, but I was working 80 hours a week and wanted to save myself some time and sent my 6.0 to this shop to have my fuel system overhauled. It cost me 3k and it took me 10 hours to redo all the mechanical and electrical work that they fucked up. I would have taken the shop owner to civil court to get my money and time back, but it would have costed me more than what I lost. But, I fixed it all up and now I've got almost 300k miles on my block and stock trans. Runs like a dream!

    You should bring your truck to Dave auto center. It’s a big shop and reparable that’s good job.

    just pull it apart and rebuild it yourself.
    I threw in a colt cam stg 2, kc stg 2 jetfire, Holder's 175/stk, full reseal and rebuild. arp stud, 6.4 push rod, lifters, and call it a day. they are not all that difficult tbh to rebuild. And that was done in a slope driveway. Running great until trans gave out at 300k. now trans rebuilt with billet tc, all new solenoid and HD clutch pack. Running all great now
    2006 6.0 kc2, colt cam2, 175/stk Holder's, .030 oversize, ficm 40, mahle rebuild kit, fel pro headgasket, full emission, srl+
    I would love for you to give it a shot at rebuilding it yourself.

      If it wasn’t for pkp wanting to help and be a huge supporter of the channel I’d Definitley give it a shot. But the worry of this block being damaged , and stripped bolts etc. I’d rather just have him do it and know that it’s right with some sort of warranty and someone that stands behind their work. I trust Herbie & he has the job secured so we will just have to see. Thanks for watching !

    Sorry for your issue. I rebuilt my lb7 duramax myself and have no issue. Learn your engine watch building video and get a manual for reassembly. You will learn so much. You already learn a lot with all your videos but learn your engine and build it yourself

      If block didn’t need machined I’d definitley go for it. But I have a lot of faith in Herbie and not everyone can rebuild their motor themselves so this will also hopefully promote a trustworthy shop , along with provide me content for the viewers.

    you need to put compounds on it, way easier to spool, quieter, and if its big enough it wouldn't make crazy torque that would hurt longevity

    You are more than capable of building the engine yourself, send the block and components to the machine shop, make sure everything is correct, and true. With your cylinder heads, take a digital caliper clamp on both ends of the heads and see if they are the same number to make sure they have been milled Even. You can do this. I just finished mine myself, and it fired right up and runs amazing. It’ll be great content for you/us and tons of videos worth for your channel.

    • @JUSTINHAWKSMITH
      @JUSTINHAWKSMITH  6 місяців тому

      I don’t disagree with you one bit but I have a lot on my plate right now it’s been hard just finding the time and motivation to even pull the motor much less fool with finding a machine shop locally to do a good job. If I’m gunna have to still put the job in someone else’s hands by having a machine shop deck the block , no good ones local to me that I know of. So that’s the turn off for me. So at the point in my life currently id rather hopefully be done good by Herbie at PKP motorsports and have a reliable engine by someone that knows what they’re doing. Pray for me !

      @@JUSTINHAWKSMITH I understand the dilemma, rebuilding my engine, was a nightmare due to my machine shop person issue. It took me nearly a year to get mine up and running again due to all of the problems I had with the machine shop guy. I should have paid with a credit card so I can backpay his ass. Keep that in mind on the other hand, you could just buy a warranty engine from Asheville or kill devil and they will probably give you a great deal on itdue to your marketing and you can make payments on it. Best of luck.

    Alright so I’ve got a question. Just bought a 6.0, an 05 model and had 140k miles and completely stock and took to a shop here in my town and had it bulletproofed and afterwards the truck ran horrible and it’s been 3 different things they told was wrong and paid to get fixed and they’ve had for 3 months now and just wondering what you recommend because you somewhat had the same problem I’m having right now.

    • @JUSTINHAWKSMITH
      @JUSTINHAWKSMITH  6 місяців тому +1

      Me personally , 3 months is far too long for ANY shop to keep a truck for a basic stud job. Unless you were warned ahead of time it would take 1 month + due to wait time or back logged work , that’s a huge red flag already that youre dealing with some people who procrastinate or don’t keep up with their work load like they should. Any shop who’s got their head on straight can usually do a head stud job in 1 business week. 2 business weeks is okay as well if parts , machine shop , etc take a little long. Hope this helps and good luck. I’d be going down there and getting some answers and money back & taking the truck else where personally.

    • @JUSTINHAWKSMITH
      @JUSTINHAWKSMITH  6 місяців тому

      For someone in my situation without great companies to work with & advertise for yes I would recommend just getting a new 6.0 motor. Which is in term what I’m doing. But just to save some money PKP is going to use any parts off of this motor that are perfect he can. Thanks for watching!

      @@JUSTINHAWKSMITH That's a problem where I live. I'm not a mechanic but I do all the work on my vehicles. That I'm able to do. Like my wife's vehicle took then just get the radiator system flush and they drill holes into the damn steel line. That weren't there when we took it. They said 350 fix it right now I said no. Took it home $60 fixed it myself.

    Maybe the ones taking trucks to this guy are the idiots??????? If u know so much and how to do it then why dont u do the work??? And why would anyone that knows the 6.0 issues spend thousands of dollars on powder coating shit under the engine???? Knowing at some time itll start leaking oil or coolant

    • @JUSTINHAWKSMITH
      @JUSTINHAWKSMITH  Місяць тому

      When built properly shouldn’t leak anything. & I didn’t do it because I don’t have the time. There are tons of people believe it or not that have the “know how” but not the time to do it their self. But if you’d like to know I was trying to support a local business and advertise for the guy to help a local guy thrive by showing the build process and allow him to be seen by hundreds of thousands of possible customers. With that being said if he had done a good job & didn’t screw me over there would be thousands of possible customers wanting him to build their truck , but social media can be a double edged sword at times , now instead of thousands of people seeing him do good by his work , they’ve seen the exact opposite.
