Thanks Chuck. Yeah she has an uncanny ability to know what I'm thinking while dancing & teaching. I guess that's what 15 years of dancing together will net you. Thanks for the support! -Brian PS for the people wondering... Meagan is an introvert. She's a fantastic teacher but has no interest in talking on video hence you have to meet her in person to get to hear her talk ;-)
Swinging country style You guys are awesome and we absolutely love watching and learning from you. You’ve inspired us to start our own page and we love to get your feedback. Keep up the great work.
So on the "6 and" part where both dancers start moving their bodies away from each other, does the hand connection move at all? Or are there micro movements by the leader to allow the follower to settle into their anchor?
GREAT question. The hand stays largely in the same place as our bodies expand away. The connection pressure will likely build until a point that the leader releases his weight backwards and the follower forwards. The music is helping both parties know "when" and the connection (when done well) helps the partners stay in sync together. I hope that helps a bit. It's a tricky concept and even trickier to type what's going on :-) Let us know if you have more questions. Maybe we can make a follow up video. Best wishes, Brian
Just spent a frustrating hour or so watching a variety of videos that come up when I typed in "beginner West Coast Swing dancing". Your come up, among others. NONE of you start anywhere NEAR the beginning. You all assume the viewer already understands and has the basic steps down. Thus everything we can find here is too advanced for us. It is a shame, because we really WOULD like to learn how to swing dance. You could have won us over, if only you had a true - first time beginner video. It's not just you, but virtually every dance company on the web. Very disappointing.

You two have an excellent mental bond, you're very easy to understand and Ms Megan teaches volumes without saying a word. Another great video sir!
