An ENTIRE game used jersey , plus paying star athlete to auto said jersey, can be obtained for less than 8k. Not just a tiny cutout, of same jersey, mounted in a lousy paper frame. For 8k a collector could purchase a really nice frame for their game worn auto jersey....
All these trading card companies have turned this hobby into a legalized gambling operation. I refuse to pay $30 - $100 a Blaster box or a Hobby box. I now will just buy single cards. We need to start a Sports Trading Card Addiction Hotline for these poor suckers who blowing all their money on overvalued crap.

You can turn around and sell unnumbered Wemby autos out of Topps Chrome right now for 3-4k....and you're guaranteed 2 autos in this product. Thats the floor. You almost cant miss at 8k a box.

On the bright side this product does have game used memorabilia vs pajama cards from panini. But he does have alot of autos coming out when you add sapphire on top of these too.

This has been done with Jordan and most UD exclusive athletes. Topps Transcendent guarantees an entire set of autographs from top players. Only thing I have against it is the price. Should be $5k and I’d still not buy one lol
The elephant in the room is that his autograph is AWFUL. It is not a signature; it is a scribble. It is not anything close to legible. I would not pay a dime for an autograph that no one can read.

Everyone who's buys one will get one and some will be much more valuable than others. Some will lose a few K. The price tag is there because there has not been a big non signer like this in years who exclusive to basically a new card. Watch how the community as a whole spends on whatnot. I haven't been able to listen to Sports Cards Nonsense in quite a while. There was a shift a while back, right around when Fanatics Live launched, where Gio decided he was gonna go full company man to fanatics, and it was really disappointing. No credibility left in him in my eyes, unfortunately.
The print run is 3,000 boxes he really doesn’t have a ton of autos. If this was a normal year and panini had him as a signer there would be waaaaaaay more autos than what topps is doing. Maybe I’m missing a couple but he had a handful of autos in baseball product, had some topps now stuff. Had a main line release in topps chrome and sapphire and now this high end product. That’s way less than if he was signing for panini product and his auto was all over in every panini basketball release.

I'm still predicting the Wemby autos to own are the Topps Chrome refractors. Refractors, holos, and silvers have always been king for rookies. Also, the population is not as high as people may think. Calculating based upon the odds sheet for Topps Chrome, there's only around 150 base autos and 70 refractor autos.
It amazes me that people who have no clue about sports, investing or the actual card market are somehow experts because they make videos saying they are. And even after countless failures people still think they walk on water.
The thing is, people are already paying over 8k per box for these from stores who are doing pre-orders. I think Goeff is right on this one, these are going to resale for completely insane prices...and then the cards inside them will tank.

Maybe he's happy to do a dozen after a game for the kids, but when Rubin comes in with a whip and makes him write THOUSANDS of these things, in his ROOKIE YEAR when he really needs to be focused on practice, Wemby probably gets sick of it and tells him to fork over thousands an autograph or get f***ed.
