Are Carbon Fiber 3D Prints as strong as Aluminum?

    No way it is stronger and even less stiffer. Aluminum has an elastic modulus of ~75 GPa. If you get 20 GPa with CF filament you should be very happy.

    Where is the data to back this up. Lets see a simple tensile strength stretch test of two identical parts attached in the identical place.
    Or lets see then under constant abuse and pressure.
    If you want you can send me two exact parts, one in aluminum and the other CF printed and i will perform a series of back to back tests.
    First we set up a camera and then we proceed setting up the parts that are repeatedly slammed using a pneumatic cylinder from 3 feet high onto a steel surface followed by 10 tons of pressure for 1 minute and repeat this process for 100 events.
    If they both survive round one then we repeat this process using a pneumatic cylinder that slams it down 3ft into a steel wedge followed by 20tons of pressure, or until something cracks or breaks.
    From tests of my own i am willing to bet you that the 3d printed part becomes broken or unusable during the first round.
