this is incredible, also I think it really grows on you. first listen I wasn't mad about it but now I can't stop listening to it. the end part is beautiful and the rest is so fucking cool. they have actually a unique sound, some may dismiss them thinking they're just another rock band and hes Bonos son blah blah blah but they're genuinely very good. great live too, very professional especially considering their age.
listening to them for the past few years, you can see the band grow and develop. I know he isn't 'part of the band'.... BUT Louis Lambert on keyboards brings the band to another level IMO. Don't get me wrong the 4 piece is good... but the 5th member makes the good into great!!
I love the album as a whole, but this is the one that I keep coming back to. The production is particularly excellent on this track. It's very intricate, oscillating between being really dense and really sparse, without ever sounding overproduced. I especially love that little drop at the 0:42 mark that creates all that space, the bass tone, the little synth stabs... and of course, that spaced out outro coupled with Elijah's beautiful vocal delivery. Great work.
After much consideration, and several full album spins, this is my favourite track on the album. Was a very difficult decision. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.
