Andy Hull? What an absolute wonderful surprise. Been listening to him for well over a decade on all his projects. Amazing artist!
Holy! Smokes! THE Andy Hull.
Andy Hull's music has helped me heal through so much trauma and I've seen manchester orchestra twice by far the best live performance I've witnessed. It's a life changing experience
This is SUCH a fun surprise! Manchester is my favorite band and Andy has gotten me through some tough times with his music. Much love!
Saw him and Rob do an acoustic set last October. Brilliant gig, and they're both so funny.
I've got a couple of videos of it uploaded on here. Andy's voice is just perfect. ❤
Andy Hull is one of my favorite frontmen ever. His voice is beyond powerful. If you haven’t go watch their video for The Silence. ❤
When I was younger I just sang the words but in my thirties I listen back and I do have that moment “he gets it” all of it is relative to my life experience. It’s beautiful
Recently have started watching Pete Holmes stuff, but Andy has been my favorite artist for a looooong time.
Good painting for sure for sure
New to Pete but obsessed with Manchester Orchestra - so pumped to have listened to this.
New to Pete. Here for Andy. So cool to bust loose in this way Mr. Headman. Lifelong fan. Keep going.
I love Manchester Orchestra and Andy so much this is truly my dream guest for this podcast omg
Amazing pick! Been loving Andy’ music since 2011. Incredible artist!
My two favs omfg
ME TOO!!!!
Are you kidding me? Two of my favorite worlds colliding. So happy this happened
Oh, man I don't think I've listened to YMIW since 2013. Thankfully my algorithm is a lot of MO so I found my way back. This was amazing!
I can still remember when i first heard the song 'top notch' about 10 years ago. They played it on triple j here in Australia, it reminded me of the smashing pumpkins and I was instantly a fan. Loved them ever since.
I just want to say that the first time I saw MO live they became my favorite band, and still are. That importance of the live experience they're talking about around the 20 minute mark has never been lost on those guys. If you haven't seen them, they have only gotten better every year over the last 20 years
NO WAY! This is why Pete is the absolute coolest. Please be my mentor in life and comedy Pete. 🙏 😊
Met Andy before a show years ago during the Simple Math tour I think. He was quiet but very nice and dryly funny. And took pictures and stood around and talked to us for a while. Still have the pic on my facebook. One of my favorite memories.
2 Hours with Andy Hull this is fantastic
Worlds are colliding! Amazing stuff.
This interview is superb. As a huge fan of Andy and MO since the very first albums/uk tour, it's really fulfilling to hear him speak in a way that re-enforces what you hope is inside - if that makes sense. A pure artist, the greatest songwriter in history IMO, but also a man who knows what his work means to the people he serves it to, and respects that, because it is life-changing to so many. Which is fucking cool.
What a pull! Stoked for this one 🙏🖤
KevDev next!
Kevin Devine is the man. He would be a very charming and interesting guest on this podcast.
Manchester Orchestra has been in my top bands for years! Fuckin great!
I’m enjoying the new couch. Wink, wink.
Hully Shit! Haha So stoked!
Awesome!
Sooo good! ❤
Thank you very much for this.
Just let him talk man holy shit
I know right Andy is the guest he should be the one talking the most, so frustrating
This almost gave me a seizure
I have Right Away, Great Captain! playing in my head most days
I had an out of body experience seeing this thumbnail in disbelief lol
@@kyleg2725Hearing him reference interviewing David Bazan was another one lmao what is happening
Needed this today
I didn't know I needed this
Been listening to Manchester Orchestra since their EP You Brainstorm, I Brainstorm, but Brilliance Needs a Good Editor. Andy's music is like a connection to the past for me.
HOW DO THESE WORLDS COLLIDE?
Pete needs to listen to Sturgill Simmon’s Turtles All The Way Down and then get him as a guest! That would be amazing!
Great show. Interesting to hear Andy has found solace in video games, I have always used them as a reward system and a respite. He should try Red Dead 2 next, the Daniel Lanois soundtrack alone is worth it :)
NO WAY
THE WAY
Wayyyaaayaaayaa the wayyyyy
If this means that MO's next album is heavily influenced by video games....i will die of happiness.
I feel like this is a therapy session and I scammed a free consultation
When is David Bazan going to be on here??
already been on! 2014, it's a great one.
@@tamaramesko263 cant find it on youtube anywhere
This guy programmed Spelunky?
you still do bat-canned?
He kinda looks like Christian Bale fused with Shia Labouef
Labouef Christian - especially after all those jump rope workouts
Interviewers that talk more than their guests eh?
Pete Holmes makes this hard to watch with the constant interrupting and talking over.
Forreal it’s so irritating
Just let him talk!!
He's bad for this but he could sort it out. I like the guy. Whitney Cummings used to be unbearable but she has got a grip of it and let's the guests speak now (the men at least).
Hahah…I love Pete, but that is true. I love interviewers that let the guest talk a lot. Just let the guest go. But…as long as I can just accept that premise with Pete, I’ll let it go. He also catches and calls himself out a lot, so I appreciate it that he knows it
Andy Hull? That's Justin Timberlake!
Lmao literally what?
