Blocking anxiety VANQUISHED! What a terrific, concise, three-method reference video I'll return to again and again. I tend to forget how to block, or to block, between projects. T-pins needed. Thanks also for suggesting supply alternatives.
That is the method some people prefer, some have never heard of doing it after blocking. There is no right or wrong way. It is a personal preference. It makes no matter one way or the other, really.
Thank you soooo much! This is the most informative video on blocking! Also, it is the only one on blocking silk and alpaca projects, and I have looked through dozens! Thanks :)
Blocking evens out stitches, opens up lacework, gives shape to knitted pieces, and makes the knitted fabric look better, as you can see in the before and after pics at the beginning of the video.
I love that pentagon shape! Do you know of any pattern that uses that design? I am somewhat new to knitting and your videos have helped me very much. Thank you for sharing.
Yes, as soon as they are wet the shaping will be lost. Even if you don't ever wash, you will probably need to reblock at some point just to neaten things up. I have found that wool and acrylic blends/superwash tend to shrink up over time (not as much with 100% non superwash), so the item will need blocked again to make it look nice.

Blocking wires are the way to go!

Haha, it was just the angle of the camera. I barely felt the steam :-)

Why would you wait to weave in ends after blocking? I've never heard of that before, lol.
Do you have to block your garments after every time you wash them?
