This sounds like it was recorded in 1986 with this production, and it's so damn heavy! They sound like they came straight out of the 80's thrash metal scene, I cannot comprehend how f*cking killer these guys are, RIP Riley.
I heard the song "Firing Squad" while driving in my car and listening to Sirius Radio. I got home when the song was halfway over and I just couldn't turn off the car until the song was over. I immediately went inside and ordered Nightmare Logic on CD from the record label. I wanted the money to go to the artists and I wanted to support them. I was saddened to hear about Riley's death. I admit I got into Power Trip way too late. I wish I heard of these guys years ago. Better late than never though and I'm happy I discovered them. Power Trip has become one of my favorite groups to listen at home and in my car.

This is so sad. I recently discovered this band, overlistened two of their albums, was so excited for the third and found out that the frontman had died. RIP.

Rest in Peace, Riley. Went to my first metal concert a few years ago, with my cousin. They totally blew me away, Riley's voice and energy, the whole performance. I'll never forget that night or this music.

I am 48 now, I was 13 when i first heard Slayer with show no mercy and Metallica with Kill em all. I get the same feeling and excitement all over again listening to this band. I was 16 when master of Puppets and Reign in Blood came out which were completely mindblowing those days. Biggest metal bands in 1986 were The Scorpions, Accept, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Krokus, AC/DC, Def Leppard, Motörhead, Manowar and Venom. This was so extreme and changed metal forever. After this in like 1988 you had a new wave with Kreator, Gravedigger, Sodom, Destruction and slowly bands like Death and Obituary changed the scene once again...
Ieme van der Veen I’m 47 now and had the exact same taste in metal at that time, along with AC/DC and WASP and some others. Really enjoying this album, why can’t riffin just be fun!

Riley died on August 26th, 2020, at the age of 34. It was my 34th birthday. To say receiving this news was chilling makes it sound hollow and pathetic. Rest In Power, Riley, we salute you.

Power Trip sounds like something you'd get if you played the best of Slayer, Death, Obituary, and Sepultura at the same time - and I don't mean to imply that they don't bring anything new to Metal. They've added their own unique sound to this, enough for me to distinguish them from other bands. I love the split-second riff gaps that relinquishes command to the drums in some of the songs. I went to a rock show my daughter surprised me with in Houston tx last year...2019. Other bands included were pat travers, ace Greeley and fucking ACCEPT. It was at a brewery. Power trip were the 3rd band that played and I had not heard of them yet. My loss. These guys understood what driving rock was, is, and always will be. Thank you Sydney for this surprise show and thank you power trip for smashing me in the face!!!!!
Yeah what a shitty time riley was a great frontman and liked the message he sent in his lyrics. Cracking band hope they keep going. If they choose to get a new frontman. Or retire power trip in respect to gale.?.? Who knows but i hope these guys the best!
I "discovered" Riley Gale and Power Trip due to his song with Body Count earlier this year. Was really hoping to see Power Trip live in a post-corona era. Not gonna happen :( Mid-forties here, and this album is their Reign in Blood ;)
"Best wishes" to all Cro-Mags out there :-) No, seriously, this band is phenomenal ! There can´t be enough oldschool-Thrash,Hardcore, Crossover, Grindcore or deathmetal in today´s world with all this clinic, sterile productions and style-abominations .
Style Abominations, very aptly put,saw these guys a month ag at the vanguarg in Tulsa Oklahoma these guys got it,they fuckin RIP ass and are old school HOOKS!!!\\M//
Oh, it’s 100% in the conversation. Could it win “best ever”? Ehhh. I don’t know, because everyone will say either Puppets or Reign In Blood is possibly the best, but there’s just so much more out there.
2017 was the best year for aggressive music since 1984/87... can’t be denied. 2018 is surely following it up and following it up HARD... I mean this in terms of shows and record release, both.
THANK YOU... so true. Without these guys, I’d be wondering who’s taking Slayer’s spot as the brutal band that mixes everyone in the scene to be violent and agressive... its THESE GUYS. Been saying it for years now and then this album came out and confirmed it ....
I saw these guys live back in April. When Executioner's Tax started, it was an instant pit. Good show highly recommend seeing them live it was awesome.
Power Trip is the only thing that helped me keep my sanity knowing FUCKIN' SLAYER is retiring 🤘🤘 Saw them last year and the crowd/energy was fucking insane. Can't wait to see them again in December
I was lucky enough to see these guys perform live at the London Music Hall in London, Ontario back in 2017, when they were touring with Obituary and Exodus. That was a GOOD show. R.I.P. Riley Gale. \m/
Sadly I had no idea who they were until I heard the singer died. These guys are amazing. Old school style. I feel Pantera , Metallica , Slayer all mixed into a pot of Awesomeness.

Just discovered the band after the frontman death, sadly. Powerfull music, it is going to be the soundtrack to todays lifting. R.I.P
Yeah what a shitty time riley was a great frontman and liked the message he sent in his lyrics. Cracking band hope they keep going. If they choose to get a new frontman. Or retire power trip in respect to gale.?.? Who knows but i hope these guys the best!
Id take up the job anytime i feel like gales soul is in me! I look a bit like him to haha.
I "discovered" Riley Gale and Power Trip due to his song with Body Count earlier this year. Was really hoping to see Power Trip live in a post-corona era. Not gonna happen :(
Mid-forties here, and this album is their Reign in Blood ;)
Man not often an album like this comes along, phew thank you 🙏
these riffs winded me
I'm going to be 62 next month been into death metal since 9yrs old with deicide from Niagara falls NY
The best I have heard! Made me think of the first time I heard Metal and said; "What the fuck was that shit!" Pure Awesome
What do you mean about cro mags?
Totally right with Best Wishes, man!!
Cro-Mags brought me here, give me more THRASH!
@@MistaFisto I like Cro-Mags and this band reminds me of Cro-Mags.
Rest in peace brother
Just heared about this band and the death of their singer, pretty sad. Amazing album though!!!
Yeah, snap, a sad way to find that this band existed but WHAT a record! Thrash metal for the 21st Century \m/
This deserves to be in the conversation of greatest thrash albums ever idc man this is a masterpiece
It’s my favorite of all time
Oh, it’s 100% in the conversation. Could it win “best ever”? Ehhh. I don’t know, because everyone will say either Puppets or Reign In Blood is possibly the best, but there’s just so much more out there.
I MISS YOU RILEY
Crossover thrash at full speed , fantastic , 10/10 R.I.P. Riley Gale
Part 80's Thrash Metal, Part 90's Industrial Metal, Part NY Hardcore
You left out D-beat.
That's it in a nutshell!
Black Thrash soo death metal?
Yeah the vocals remind me of Al Jourgensen but mainly 80's thrash with a smidgen of crossover. The first album has more of a hardcore sound.
90s industrial metal? no
if we have one album like that every two months metal is gonna have a great year
this guy
Hope so, man !! I just listen to this Album at my 1st hangover breakfast in 2018.01.01. !!
Heavy new year, by the way !!!
That would get boring real quick
2017 was the best year for aggressive music since 1984/87... can’t be denied. 2018 is surely following it up and following it up HARD... I mean this in terms of shows and record release, both.
check out: rapture paroxysm of hatred
Listend to this whole album at the gym...
Most intense workouts I've had in years,,🤟
This is the freshest METAL of any kind album I have heard in quite a bit. Just became a fucking fan. Too band the singer died man.
Check out the new Vildhjarta album \m/
@@postrockforthemind128 will today thanks
God damn man I started jonesing for coke when I heard this. Old school badd assery. RIP man. You left us way too early
Metal will never die
The fallen Gods needed a lead singer. Another great one taken too soon. Every time we play his music he lives inside us all.
Singer ? Really ?!
@@macaire their singer had die in 2020

Rest In Paradise, Riley
This band brings that perfect blend of old school hardcore fused thrash.
Fuck yeah they do! I'm loving that Cro-Mags vibe.
so many Obituary landmarks
Yes!
RIP Riley. Gone way, way too soon. Far too young, and right when PT was starting to really take off. Mosh In Peace, mate!
Farewell, Slayer! Your legacy is in good hands.
Exactly..! Finally, found a 2nd band worth listening to.
@@yankeebastardnslovakia SSLLLAAAAYYYYYYYERRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Same here, also reminded me of Death
There from texa
There's some Anthrax in there too...RIP RILEY 🤘
This at first reminded me old early Sepultura like "Inner Self"
