    Just bought my second 300wsm. My friend just bought one too. They are making a comeback. Picked the wsm over a 7 PRC.

    Only if I would’ve known, then what I know now 300 WSM. Haven’t seen any ammo on the shelf in three years. 300win everywhere Thank you Winchester for inventing a cartridge that I cannot buy ammo for.

      It is difficult to find ammo, but if you search hard enough it’s available. Depending on what part of the country you’re in, you might find some Hornady factory loaded ammo. I found some while I was in Texas a while back

      @erich44magnum I just don’t like the case design behind the WM. The WSM is significantly more efficient and less likely to have case separations because of the belt on the WM.
      Sometimes the finer things in life are worth a little more work 😉 but I completely understand the lack of availability makes it difficult to get started with the WSM

    Just watched the video very nice rifle ... I built a semi custom 300wsm on a tikka action with an international barrels carbon fiber wrapped barrel fully expoxy bedded and its my do everything and anything hunting rifle. You should put a good quality gill brake instead of that old school 360 degree ported muzzle brake unless you never plan to be prone on the ground while out hunting ? Those 360 ported brake will give you a face full or dirt lol... I'm just being picky I've never like that style of brake for that reason

    • @TNRay
      @TNRay  10 місяців тому +1

      Sounds like a pretty cool build! I actually decided, after filming the original video, to get a 30 cal suppressor and it will be a permanent suppressor host now. I prefer hunting with a suppressor over a brake any day

    What is the barrel life for the 300wsm, I just picked up a proof bighorn origin prefit in 300wsm for a sweet deal, $440 for a 24” prefit

    Good luck finding a supply of any WSM brass and I only know of Bertram brass as of now that makes 300 & 325 WSM Brass.
    I build for sale AR 10 uppers on the WSM magnum cartridges.
    My own AR 10 WSM rifle is on 375 WSM.
    I did find a online site selling once fired 300 WSM brass that I bought from then converted the 300 WSM to 375 WSM brass and loaded the casings.

      Thanks, it is difficult to find but I got a 50 count once fired container of Norma brass from Choice Munitions a month or so back. I’ve got a little bit of Hornady and Winchester factory ammo as well. Hard to find, not cheap, but well worth it

      Defiance anti Action: $1645.00
      AG Composite stock: $750
      Hawkins Precision M5 DBM kit: $320
      Proof Research Carbon Wrap barrel: $799
      Timney Elite Hunter: $175
      Gun builder fee from $600 to $2500 depending on who you use
      That's the fee list for your avg guy buying parts from the various suppliers online
      Those who are working in the shooting and custom rifle building business get some impressive discounts. Example: high end actions at half price, say, if you happen to make and sell suppressors and you have a gentleman's business agreement with a business that makes custom actions. In fairness to the OP, he should not post prices he gets but anyone can search these items online and get prices. The reason I know what they are is by looking at my own receipts.
      Parts alone with shipping can easily run you to $4000. The nice thing is if you're choosy, and have to order what you want from the manufacturer, you'll wait months to a year or more for some items and you have that time to save money up or pay over time

    • @TNRay
      @TNRay  Рік тому

      I purchased most of these items a year and a half to 2 years ago. The prices I paid were less, even if I had paid retail, than what you’d pay now. That’s why I didn’t want to discuss the numbers. Plus, if you use a builder and they are dealers for certain companies, they get a much better price than someone ordering direct from the mfg.
