I'm glad you shared your journey to building a successful bookkeeping business. Your tips are practical and easy to follow. I especially appreciate your emphasis on staying consistent and being open to new opportunities. It's a reminder that success doesn't happen overnight, but with hard work and dedication, anything is possible.
In the process of taking the bookkeeping certification. I have an accounting degree but I forgot a lot about certain topics and it really helped! This video was very encouraging to me since I’m just starting out with this as a side hustle to see if it works. The good thing is that I have a government job so just like u before I have a bit more flexibility since I have something to fall off on
I would LOVE a video showing what software you use. What do you use for document management/storage? Do you pay for adobe? Do you have any other software / applications that are worth the cost? What does your physical set up look like? What type of printer/scanner do you recommend? Sorry for all the questions! Thank you for all the great content!
I made my 5 year plan yesterday and just now this video appeared on my home page, I smiled when you said that that was one of the first things you did. Without a doubt, I feel much more confident having short and long term direction today. Thanks for your contribution, you are the best!
Congratulations on creating a 5 year plan! The thought of a small bookkeeping business is a thought that has been lingering in my mind for a long time and it appears to be getting louder and louder but making a plan to start just seems overwhelming and scary. I'm curious on what things are on your list.
@sandracarroll754 if you are asking me, think about it as a game. What does the outcome of winning look like for you? What are the stages or levels to get there? What are the skills the character needs to develop to be able to achieve them in each stage. Don't be scared! It's actually the funny part of envisioning the future! Then you start breaking it down to focus on the first year dividing it in quarters, then the first quarter divided into months, then the months into weeks and lastly daily so you can see what are the small steps you can take to start climbing towards the goal. Probably, things are going to change while you are in the process, but having a sense of direction and vision is relieving! Would love to hear about @FinePointsBookkeeping experience doing it! Maybe she already has and I haven't seen it yet!
Love this Morgan, thank you so much for sharing I'm new and looking to start my bookkeeping business. I've watched your masterclass and binge watched most of your vidoes. I'm very encouraged to start my own bookkeeping biz I really love your channel❤ My burning question now is: How do i communicate my value as a Bookkeeper to businesses in a space where accountants are more valued, in-demand and seems to already be providing the service? Where do we fit in? Thank youu
I love your videos. I always come away inspired and thinking "I can do this!" Your cozy bookkeeper video completely speaks to me. I'm not interested in the hustle anymore but I would love to add a couple more clients. My question: I've worked in QB desktop for over 25 years. I've never used QB online version but I feel this would be beneficial to learn. Any suggestions on how to get started with that?
Hey! Morgan recommends taking the QBO ProAdvisor training and certification to get started in QBO. Here is a video where Morgan talks more about this: ua-cam.com/video/xKcCrN5Sn-E/v-deo.htmlsi=ATSAFpzfWD4YsPB4 Krista (FinePoints Admin)
This video is extraordinary and just the first few minutes really helped me, psychologically. I KNOW I want to do this business, and you and I seem to have similar mannerisms and ideals, so I'm going to soak up everything you've got. Thank you so much for doing this. I'm going to see about your WHY video, next... I have a why, but in the season I am in, as a Christian, the Lord continues to tell me "wait". It's a long story, but I can at least soak in as much information as possible, get that research out of the way. Thank you, and God bless you, again. I do have a question: do you now have your ProAdvisor certs?
What businesses/clients would you recommend someone starting out in bookkeeping reaching out to? Looking for basic bookkeeping/“easiest” clients to learn the ropes with! :)

Nice video! I have a question if you could reply to me: is it possible in your opinion for an Italian who lives in Italy to start up a business in bookkeeping with non-italian clients? I have a background of study in accountancy even though now I work as IT Consultant but I would like to come back to work in bookkeeping since I liked it so much. Starting a business in Italy is not that easy and, for example, QB is basically not known; I think that aiming to the world market would open me lots of opportunities but I'm not confident about the fact that, from here, I could be able to find clients in a very competitive market. What do you think about that? Do you have any advice on where to start? Do you think it might be even possible? Many thanks if you will be so gentle to take some of your time to reply 🙂
Hey! Morgan published a couple of videos about starting a bookkeeping business from overseas, so these may help you out as you figure out how to find work from outside the US: ua-cam.com/video/XRK_Ww72BkQ/v-deo.html, ua-cam.com/video/VKDQzIt2P8k/v-deo.html Krista (FinePoints Admin)
Good video! I want to start a bookkeeping job to transition into accounting. I was wondering what inexpensive training programs you suggest to get my QuickBooks certification?
Thanks for the advice!

it’s not a must but she does if I remember correctly 😊
@@coachcarenfern Yes, just on her videos page there is a LOT about ProAdvisor.
So glad it was helpful! I appreciate you being here. Yes, I do have and recommend the ProAdvisor--it's free, so not much to lose!
