Yeah, I prefer this format vs The Hollywood Reporter roundtable format where the moderator throws out a question and we wait and see who answers first.
@@jos3goodkid I had a similar thought because of his constant pausing between words and the wild gazes around the room as he spoke, as it felt unlike him in constrast with interviews I've seen of him before. But later on he spoke in a much more natural way. I think it's because the question posed at around 25:50 may not be something that he had clear thoughts on from the get go, and that he had to think carefully before wording himself. Whereas in later clips he speaks of things that he may have thought about on a constant basis, and he words everything easily because of it.
Why is Regina acting like she’s never directed before? One Night in Miami is her first major motion picture, but she has a number of directing credits under her belt.
It's her narrative feature directorial debut. I get your point, but there is a substantial difference between directing Southland or Scandal and owning a film set as a director. I think she's just being mindful of that. Also, considering the caliber of talent around her, it's an opportunity to recognize their legacies in the space as well.
The moderation for this panel was terrific. He managed to keep everyone involved and chained together conversations really well. Awesome.
Weird to see Fincher and Sorkin talking about films they haven't made together!
Thank you for this.
I feel like Sorkin is kinda anxious during the interview because the director he admire is sitting right next to him for the same award and LOVE IT
The DGA podcast has them interviewing each other about their two movies. One episode for each movie.
Don’t they only have 1 movie together though?
Here’s to hoping that they reunite soon for the social network part 2 🤞
@@FramesPerSecond On which platform can we find the podcast?
Skimming to all the Finicher talking bits first... 😁
*only
This guy gets it lol
This is an incredibly well-moderated discussion between some absolute legends. Bravo, LA Times.

Agreed! Felt more personable and allowed for the filmmakers to speak more instead of the moderator
Thank you! We need more FINCHER though.
why isnt this being talked about more
Just fast forwarded to hear the master, David Fincher, talk
25:33-29:54 made me so happy to watch. Much respect to all these legends.
Why isn’t there more interviews of finches for mank ?
I’m wondering that too. Tbh, fincher doesn’t seem like the person who would enjoy zoom calls 😂😂
I've noticed that he's been doing a few written interviews for Mank
He did and interview with Ben Affleck recently and the DGA podcast has one coming out soon with Sorkin interviewing him.
@@FramesPerSecond I can't find his interview with Ben Affleck. Did they remove it?
@@FramesPerSecond what’s the one with Sorkin on ?
with no slight to the other 5, i would rather listen to fincher discuss all 6 films in as much depth as he deems appropriate
the host looks like a relative of A. Sorkin)))
Regina saying she’s a control freak in front of fincher was hilarious
Fincher is like "Oh Regina, that's cute." Lol.
Perhaps that's why he was smiling like Ben Affleck(that crooked smil lol)
Regina King, you are so amazing ,your honesty and beauty come out in all you do...wow...so love your movies
Greengrass looks like Indiana Jones, Sr.
Yo is Fincher ok? Lol
What do you mean

The host looks like Aaron Sorkin
I think you’re just looking at Aaron Sorkin
I came for the interview, stayed for the interstitial music!
Why such weird graphics and set dressing?
Is Mark Olsen related to the Olsen twins?
Did anyone notice the director in the lower right screen looks like Sean Connery? His features even his smile?
Great! Thanks

She's NOT acting lie she's never directed before. The moderator even said she's directed television before. But this was her first film.
make these it's own channel and i'll subscribe
Take a shot of your whiskey everytime ragina king says the word "black"!

You jinxed it! lol

One night in Miami is a fiction, not a true story
It's a fictionalized version of a real life event
