We the people of Odisha are extremely thankful to such a great music director Upendra Kumar Ji who has gifted us evergreen Odia songs.Though he was primarily working in Kannada film industry but all his Odia songs are immensely popular and milestones in themselves.The kind of music he has produced are very very rare now days.Also he originally belongs to "Digapahandi" a small town in Odisha 's Ganjam district.We are proud of him and he is always in our heart.

Upendrakumar is my favourite music director after Rajan Nagendra. I became his instant fan after hearing Haadu kogile in those days. He has created many musical wonders. Bareyuve ninagagi song is such a marvel.

(Though GKV introduced Raj to singing, it is Upendra Kumar who explored more facets... Also encouraged Raghavendra Rajkumar to sing and gave most chances to local singers like Manjula Gururaj, B.R.Chaya, etc.)

Hey Thanooj. I have been a humble fan and worshiper of your father's music since I heard Hrudayave ninna hesarige from the movie Belli Modagalu. Not much is known about Upendra Kumar sir to the Kannada cine world. I think you are as talented as your father and will hopefully bring laurels to the industry and your father's legacy. Hi Thanooj. I am listening to 'Hrudayave ninna hesarige' now for the millionth time. The song just pierces my heart and soul every time I listen to it. Can't state how blessed you are to be the son of such a genius... (BTW my name is Rakesh. I have been listening to these wonderful songs on my mother's phone)
Ratha saptami is another classic. Shilegalu sangeetava haadide is a super composition in raag shivaranjini.... RESPECT
