Thank you, I think they can work for jazz too as these instruments are really versatile. I think getting one with a 3x rotary can be closer to what you want because it has a jazz bass pickup position available, and it has nolly's signature middle+bridge pickup in series for really aggressive stuff too 💭

High Mids 1.25k and I'd say some 500's, lower bass, have treble slightly high but not too much

Combo amps hm... I have no idea because I'm not much of an amp person 🙈 personally I would recommend the darkglass amp heads for sure because they have built in distortion but they are not combo amps 🙈

Is it harder to play on fanned frets?
Based on personal experience, the fretting hand was easy to adapt, but the right hand might take some time to figure out the sweet spot, but the overall experience is similar to getting any new bass imo 🙈
Do you play 5 string bass only?
I play 4 strings too, but 5 strings generally can play more songs because of larger note range

@@RufusMann I've been playing Guitar for ten years, so I can definitely get a feel for another familiar stringed instrument. It's just a different beast, ya know?
@@Spititoutloud10 yea, 5 string naturally has more wood so the way it resonance is definitely different from a 4 string even if it's the same brand, same wood, same tuning etc... 💭💭 personally I'd like to have a 4 string still (they tend to have a more snappy sound overall based on the ones I've had... And easier to play... But I use a 5 mainly for the versatility of more note ranges covered so... It's really up to your use 🙈
