@@mindciller I've been noticing, the earlier I save my legs and let go of my ego that I could climb in harder gears, the better my legs feel in the long run. I'm learning to not use it as simply a bailout, but as an actual great opportunity!
That's true! You've got the concept. I run power meter and know my normal endurance pace and still knocked around 100+- watts off to climb that elevation. It's possible to run the same power at higher leg speed which is what you're describing
I have 2 105 RD, one has long cage and the other is Ridea OSPW, I am planning to build a Ti Gravel build with 105 gs but with 11-40 cassette. I guess this will help me to decide for my upcoming build.
What front crankset are you running?? (they seem oblong) I just ordered the 105 R7000 groupset to put on my old MTB. Going to rebuild wheels with new hub to accomodate the 11-38T. Feel confident the setup will run nicely on my 1990 MTB to convert to a decent gravel bike. Thanks for the video!
Link amount not sure as this bike is no longer complete, been a while. I use ultegra or durable chains is shimano and if sram, I use force or red equivalent.
This rear derailleur is a "long cage type set" already has its own Shimano based roadlink setup in in when you buy it. That's the good part about the new "gs" rated rear derailleur.
This vato gato is gonna fly high on them hill. Sickness!!!
Such a fun build. Thanks Vato!
Give us the update you still rocking the 40??
What was it like using this setup? Did you have any problem? How did the rear derailleur behave?
It behaved okay. Just noisier in the big big. Didn't have chain drops. Everesting attempt went okay. Thanks for watching.
I run a zip tie through my extra cassettes to keep from mixing with my other cassettes
Good point. Organization is key for sure.
I think I'll use the 40t in the mid to late game of the everesting day
I would use it as soon as you need to . Don't resist it, just do it lol. You'll be better off keeping the legs spinning

Hey, planning the same setup on my MTB , what chain are you using and how many chain links donyou have on it?

How did you get the 46-30 chainrings on the ultegra crankset?
Wolf tooth road link and add link to chain.
