I love listening to your narration of ANY story. Ridiculous that someone would suggest you hire a female narrator! Some people spend way too much time looking for opportunities to be offended. And your American accent is pretty good; seems a lot of actors immediately fall into an exaggerated Texas accent when trying to sound American. Keep up the great work.

From one Lisa to another, I couldn't agree more. I love this man's voice! He could read ingredients lists or instructions for how to change tires, and I'd be here for it.
I enjoy his post-story chat, sharing information about about the author he read or the inspirations & bits of real life that pop up in his own stories, in which we get to learn more about him. I love the starry wallpaper behind him when he films himself reading.

The reason I click on any story you narrate is because your command of your voice and total absorption into each character makes any story come alive to me. The main reason I see a story you've written and immediately click on it is that I know I will get a delicious shiver down my back. Carry on, my friend. Ignore the riff raff and carry on.

The general rule is if you're narrating stories, your read all the characters. If i's a radio play, then actors read the lines. And none of those are etched in stone. You're doing a superb job. I don't think it matters whether you're a man reading a story about a female or vise versa.. It's a fictional tale and provided it's done well it doesn't matter to me. Why limit yourself? By the way, I enjoyed the story, with a bit of extra detail it would make a good short horror film. Cheers 👍

I choose the stories on UA-cam, BBC sounds, archive, etc by the voice of the narrator. I enjoy your voice very much. No need for a female narrator. In fact when it’s a story that in the person of a female, I rather like the momentary mind adjustment to get used to a male voice.
For what it’s worth that’s my two cents!

I started listening to audiobooks back in the late 70s or early 80s, and on cassette, when I started working on a lot of needlepoint, and I never cared whether the book was written by male or female, or whether the main character was male or female. All I cared about was whether the narrator was clear and easy to listen to. I think your narration style is very good and one I could listen to for hours, and have done while listening to your audiobooks. I wouldn’t pay too much attention to the comments like what you were mentioning as I imagine most of your followers feel as I do. It took me a bit before I realized there was something “fishy in Denmark,” as they say, with the death of his family. Well done!

Haha! You got twittered on UA-cam. Tony, your voice got you the LlKES. Just keep on keeping on. I like your Story, how you described his loneliness, that one can't run from themselves.

Some people are never satisfied. Detractors are usually incompetent and always on the lookout for a place to gripe. In fact, my husband just commented that we live in a culture that loves to criticize and hate. Tony, you have a huge following of people who love your work. Those who don't don' enjoy it have the option to listen somewhere else. Ignore 'em and forge ahead!

Very very good!! Well, I am Donna "Woobie" from Massachusetts!! I listened to "My Niece Alison" first. That was Wicked, good!! (I explained 'wicked' in my comment for My Niece Alison). The accent for 'Woman at the Door' was great, truly. At first I actually thought that you had an American read this, but thought it odd that the title didn't say: Read by... I am a Very Happy girl today!! You have no idea how much I needed this!!!! I tend to ramble so I'll be off to listen to more. I know I'll be commenting on them all. This is Great!! Thank you

I'm here for the stories and you narrate just fine. Really liked this one. The device of hiding the crime from the reader parallels the character, who is hiding it from himself.

Ah yes. The character knows more than the audience in this one.

I dont want anyone else doing your damn program. If some woman wants to read a story she can get her own damn program. Tony, you do you! You know what's really scary, it's this generation of young people that's what really scary. Effing PC nightmare.

Don't listen to the naysayers, I love listening to you read any story, regardless of if it's a male or female main character or what culture it's written in regards to.
As someone who listens to a ton of audiobooks by various narrators, not all of whom are the same gender or from the same culture as the characters they read, it really just comes down to how well someone can read a story and you always do a wonderful job on any story I have listened to you read so far.
Never once given a thought to you being male reading a female role or what have you.

People who think in terms of "cultural appropriation" simply don't know anything about cultural history and the cultural cross-fertilization that has created features of màny different cultures. "Stay in your lane" types are simply more interested in politics and power than art. Really, feel free to dismiss them without a second thought. Love what your work.

Please- ignore the idiots criticising you for not getting a female narrator, or for reading 'female' stuff. They are probably listening to your excellent content for free. There are readers on some sites on you tube that set my teeth on edge and spoil my enjoyment of the stories because I can't concentrate on what they're reading, just how. Guess what- I just don't listen to those. I accept that many people are happy, and that the readers are doing their best, it's just not for me- I don't feel the need to leave them unkind comments.

Listen to your heart! If you worry about the others, they own you! You have an awesome soul to be creating these stories that sound as if they've been around for centuries as a reminder of where we come from and that we all should be caring human beings. Those who complain have so many troubles but don't know how to go about ridding themselves of pain except to cause others to suffer. They especially need your stories. Thank you for sharing your creativity. Try not to waste your time apologizing; instead, use that time to create more stories to touch our hearts.
