It’s amazing how you can take little squares of fabric and make something so beautiful! I love it! I especially love the pink striped border!

I like how this turned! I’ve been doing this improv type stuff too. So fun and freeing to not have to follow a pattern 😊

Pretty quilt, I am totally with you on the checkerboard fabric not lining up, totally fine, I don’t aim for perfection, I just aim for overall design like a nice checkerboard. Anxious to see the next one. Happy quilting.

It took me 15 years to finish up a mystery quilt!! I did not love it because of the material choices, but I got it done well enough!

A great result from this project. While some people enjoy mystery projects, I do not! I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with for the rest of the economy blocks you have!

If the mystery SAL is on youtub, one option might be to put the blocks away as a project on hold (not technically a UFO) until the SAL finishes and you can see the finished project. Then you can make an informed decision about continuing or repurposing the blocks you have already made.
I have the same problem with mystery quilts. I signed up for a mystery QAL at the big Houston Quilt Festival and was very disappointed. Its like buying a pig in a poke!

I have had the same experience with a mystery quilt of choosing the wrong colors and in the end I was happy to give the quilt away. I do Bonnie Hunter’s mystery but the colors are given to you so your decision to change , which I have , or stick with her choices. Anyway good save on this one .

This is a beautiful quilt. "Only God can make things perfect." Some quilters put a mistake in their quilt for good luck. I could not see your little mistake. Getting it done was important. Someone is going to love that quilt. Are you going to set up the other 25 blocks the same as this one? Thank you.

I’m not fond of mystery sew alongs either. You spend a lot of money on buying the boxes and if you don’t like it, you’re stuck. You did an awesome job of making the new blocks.
