I may be mistaken, but related to the Vaultek being TSA approved... I believe in this case it is not referring to TSA having an access key to the container, it’s that it complies with 49 CFR § 1540.111 section c-2-4 which states that only the owner/passenger may retain the key or code to the firearm. So in this instance, the TSA approval means that they do not have access into the container, as to comply with the federal regulation.

It comes down to budget. I love my vaulttek lifepod 2.0, it was in my budget and I did not want any more keys. If you need something quick and don't have the budget then the Hornady is your option. Amazon has some keyless entry ones for around $80 that I was also looking at, but I decided to stick to a brand I know.
Ts doesn’t have keys to access the safe. Only you the owner can access the safe. Tsa approved the lock ability of the safe and that it isn’t easily picked.
I'm getting both of these the lockpicking lawyer picked them but the 2.0 is improved an he didn't pick the hornady too easy, everyday people arent getting into onto these too easy unless they have plenty of time.
That is our thoughts exactly! Not everyone is just a lock smith and are just going to pick your gun safe. Mostly it's great for at home or in the car. We enjoy both of them can't beat the price of the hornady, life pod is solid and a lot faster to get into. Thanks for the comment hope you enjoyed!

I just find it sad that the whole purpose of the life pod 2.0 was strictly because the first life pod was marketed as having the option to disable the front key lock so you couldn't pick it so I got one and when I got home started watching videos on UA-cam but the first one that came up was titled opening life pod safe with butter knife or Fork and I returned it same day just wish they would have issued a recall since they are absolutely not safe to store firearms in the original version however the 2.0 is awfully nice and they took care of all the issues that the first one had just kind of shady that they didn't make that known about original version
Why in the hell would you compare a key-only $30 steel safe to the Life Pod 2.0? They serve two completely different applications. You would never cross shop these two.
How so? They are both used for pistol storage. I have both and use them both for the same application. 😂 there’s just a price difference. Is life pod truly worth the money is the purpose of the video. Did you even watch the video?
@@sgrtactical8469 why would you use these two safes in the same application? The Vaultek is designed for rapid access, some protection from the elements, and portability. If you don’t need those features, buy a cheaper, simpler safe. Hornady, by the way, makes several safes that are comparable in features (and price) to this Vaultek. Now that would be a useful comparison. Comparing these two is pointless.

Correct
It is also the fact that the safe can handle being pressurized. It is safe being stored in the non pressurized cargo hold.

Hornady doesn't make the safe, they're still just rebranded chinese junk

Hard to compre a $30 safe and $160 safe.

They updated the firmware on all new lifepod 1.0s so that you can’t use the reprogram button when the safe is locked
I believe the case is waterproof up to three ft for 30 minutes. But that's as long as the seals are good .

They did issue a recall and sent me the part to fix it a few years ago.
