Most people remember Brian Glover as the Warden in Alien 3....I on the other hand, as a Rik Mayall/Adrian Edmundson fan, remember him as "Mr. Rottweiler" in Bottom.
He was a legend!
He's also the Warden in the Living Daylights.

Brian truly has a distinct voice because I recognized him from another BBC show, Bottom! He was in the episode 'Gas' as Richie and Eddie's angry neighbor, Mr. Rottweiler.
Who knew Mr. Rottweiler was a wrestler?

Fun fact, the guy who played Lord Byron went on the voice the main bad guy in the Witcher 3 but more importantly, he voices MAX REBO in the recent Lego Star Wars game.

Brian Glover was a splendid character and fine wrestler. The match between him and Les Kellet that you showed a glimpse of near the beginning was a great match.

Also I believe the actor that played Lord Byron was also the witch's descendant from the Married With Children 2 part episode where there's a conspiracy to kill Al and Bud in England.
These facts alone warrant more Rumble commentaries.
Whilst Brian Glover was a well-known wrestler at the time, I would argue that he’s best remembered for playing the sadistic PE teacher in the film “Kes” 😇

Oh 12 year old me remembers getting very excited on hearing about this new Wrestling comedy on BBC 1. I don’t think I made it to episode 3 and now I live in regret at never knowing what happened next
They probably pulled the show after episode 2 to save face 🤣

I remember watching an episode of this! I was so excited to see a listing for a wrestling comedy on BBC ... I saw an episode and wondered if I had watched the wrong thing because I didn't see any wrestling or comedy.
I never saw another episode and in recent months have been furiously googling to see if I had just invented the memory and may have been going mad.
Long after giving up, UA-cam recommends you guys and this video. One of my life loose ends has finally been tied.

I remember this it was utter shite and it seemed really random at the time that a show based on wrestling would just show up on Saturday afternoon on BBC1. Comedy gold now but back then it was just embarrassing, clearly apart from Brian Glover and the odd cameo nobody involved neither knew anything about wrestling or gave a flying fcuk about finding out, very bizarre all round really.
"A bit of comic relief in a Bottom live show" - After Pete saying that, I'm surprised neither of them mentioned that Brian Glover was in an episode of Bottom, playing Mr. Rottweiler.
Whenever I see Brian Glover, I think Alien³. I had no idea he was a pro wrestler before getting into acting.

I do remember this. I remember something weird about The Beefy Boys. I don't understand how this storyline was supposed to work, all I know is that Lesley Joseph said something about "he's going through his purple patch." And in some way this phrase affected which corner The Beefy Boys were in, and they all had to rush to try to get them into the other corner. Very odd.

I missed this at the time due to being incredibly busy sleeping. I never knew Trigger had such an appealing physique, he kept that quiet in OFAH.

I agree, I was around when this came out in 1995 and have no memory of it. Mind you I was probably watching Baywatch or Gladiators on itv.

Same. No memory of it whatsoever. Thing is, it was apparently followed by The New Adventures of Superman, which I know that I did watch. My best guess is that I was playing on my Mega Drive when Rumble was on.

I like to play a fun game whenever I watch something British made after his death; what role would Brian Glover have had in this and how much better would it make it.
As a huge wrestling fan since the mid 1980s and a TV addict from since I was born (early 80s) AND someone who now works in the television industry and has a very extensive and deep knowledge of British Television - how the hell have I never heard of this before??? Are you sure this isnt one of those weird Mandela effects where only people from a parallel universe will remember this show?

I do remember it being pretty bad, yet somehow still entertaining! Mad Hamish was played by former world champion boxer Glenn McCrory (Mike Tyson's favourite sparring partner) and Hugh Cornwell, from The Stranglers appeared as a hypnotist in an episode.

Watched it every week. I remember it being fairly awful
I do think an actual netflix level drama of behind the scenes wrestling would actually be very good. Like GLOW but then men in the territory days. You can base it off of Jim Cornette's tales in Behind the Curtain. Travelling tag team and their manager.
A series like that exists and broadcast its first season in 2021. It's called Heels and follows a small town wrestling promoter trying to grow his business. It's a little strange in that it's set in the present day with all the modern trappings of wrestling such as IWC, online promotion etc but in some sort of parallel universe where there is still a territory system. It was really well received and premiers its second season next month.

Brian Glover is about as intelligible as Gerald from Clarkson’s Farm.
This was terrible, I never understood why any of the actual British wrestlers were in it, except for Brian Glover. Probably because they realised how terrible it was going to be.
I watched this with such high hopes when I was about 13. It was so bad 😂
i do remember this show, i was about 14 when it was out. i loved wresting and watched every episode of this but i did find it pretty rubbish. brian glover kept me watching tho.
RUMBLE is not nearly as good as the one-off wrestling drama also starring Brian Glover, Send in the Girls- The Wild Bunch. Also featuring Giant Haystacks & Kendo Nagasaki.
