Aside from “Oh, No!” I found the whole set (parts 1-13) on amazon for under $100. Less if you get parts 1-6 and 7-12 instead of 1-3, 4-6, 7-9 and 10-12
When I first saw the streamliners from this segment when I was little, I was in AWE because of how beautiful they looked! The Southern Pacific Daylight, Dreyfuss Hudson, Empire State Express, and Union Pacific 49er were always my favorites!
Here are some of my memories from this segment...first it was primarily shot on a layout featuring Atlas 21st Century Track. We made the video for Atlas on their new track and kept the layout intact afterwards. The tinplate catenary system was made by PJ Fusco, and it worked as you saw in ILTT 5. Just about all the trains were MTH RailKing. The SP Daylight was the only scale train. There's a couple shots where we're trying blue screen keyed out to slip in artistic backgrounds. That color position signal at the end was made by Right-of-Way. Traffic signal I believe is Life-Like. The grain elevator kit is Lionel. Just about everything else looks like it's MTH, even the reproductions of the Lionel 47 gates. As you can see we love to show smoke pouring out of steam locomotives. Never gets old. The locomotives were really well-built and great looking models. They were a big deal for the intermediate range of the hobby. They weren't scale, but they still had nice detailing, diecast tenders, open spoked drivers, and good sounds with the automatic passenger station operation sequence. We grabbed every one that was available to make this segment. And everything came together at the end with another great James Coffey song.
This was one of the two parts that introduced me to the New York Central. To this day, the New York Central song and the NYC models are my most vivid memories from watching these as a kid.
The only problem with this series is that as a child you would want to buy these toy trains, and you would be rejected by your parents because of how expensive they are.
Always one of my most favorite bits from the series. I particularly loved the Empire State Express and 49er as a kid. MTH did a really nice job on all these engines. Hope you upload the Lionel Hudson’s/Legends of the Rails bit from part 9 one day.
Whoosh! you wonder who is passing through! Whoosh! You won’t won’t believe it’s even true! Whoosh! but all you see of me will be, a shiny streak of racing blue!
The only thing I don’t like is that when James Coffey says “The Hudson, The Daylight, and The Burlington Zephyr,” it shows the New York Central trains. Everything else it perfect 👌
Did you know the coast daylight actually started in 1937 with the introduction of the GS-2 and GS-3 but the locomotive in the film was built in the 1940s as it is a GS-4 which were started being built in early 1941
...I grew up with this series... my childhood is hitting me full force
Yeah Same, I Grew Up With This Show In 2008 All The Way To 2023
Man so much nostalgia. I used to have the entire series. I should probably get a hold of another set at some point.
Aside from “Oh, No!” I found the whole set (parts 1-13) on amazon for under $100. Less if you get parts 1-6 and 7-12 instead of 1-3, 4-6, 7-9 and 10-12
Whole time I’m just proud of the kid reading his script
His name is Jeff
@@kjfenterprises9618 my name jeff
Aren’t we all
He sounds more comfortable on the mic than I do lol and I’m 53 years old
I always love the scene where the Daylight just barrels down the track at "they were fast and sleek"
when
ok i saw it🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Oh man it’s all coming back to me, I definitely remember this episode. This really takes me back
I loved this show growing up!
So did I
Same for me

I have all the discs and I recomend this for young model railroaders because plenty of people grew up with this including me.
Remember that one scene where they made that roundhouse overflow with steam? I wanted to that for 6 years.
This segment inspired my love for the Dreyfuss Hudson and the Commodore Vanderbilt.
The only problem with this series is that as a child you would want to buy these toy trains, and you would be rejected by your parents because of how expensive they are.
And the other problem is that when you become a adult the toy trains you wanted as a kid are next to impossible to find for a good price
@@joedaylight yup
Lmao painfully true
And then it happens again when you want modern versions in better scales
I would look to railking, and Williams pieces, most of the streamlines go for under $300
Always one of my most favorite bits from the series. I particularly loved the Empire State Express and 49er as a kid. MTH did a really nice job on all these engines.

Daylight is my favorite steam locomotive of all time.
Me too
Big boy #4014
Love the daylight
I love Daylight too
I play the Daylight 4449 in Steamnation
I miss watching the videos from TM. I wish they would produce more videos.
In the song when it said. Daylight you should’ve put a ham in the video
It’s a shame that the Pennsylvania Torpedo doesn’t exist in Lionel anymore.
What do you mean? They don’t make them anymore?
@@skiiipawbs yeah i dont think they made them since the 90s same with the Commodore Vanderbilt because i have it in tmcc for the Vanderbilt
Some Streamliners are Runing Today Like The Daylight And The J class 611 And More Steamers
Nostalgic videos having the most banger songs for absolute no fckin reason (3:17)
Facts
The 4449 Daylight still exist
Great I loved this song! I have a Lionel 221 myself.
My favorite is the Commodore Vanderbilt.
Me too
That's Speedy Mcallister from Chuggington's basis
Why don't passenger trains look like this anymore? :(
Due to laziness, criminal, and diesels
Great job on the video Awesome trains ( Doug in GA 🐈 ) don't get much better
Daylight 4449 my favorite!!!!!!
The 4449 SP GS4 is from MTH Premier, while the others are MTH Railking.
As u said before it’s bad enough that thousands of steam locomotives have been scrapped but even worse that almost literally every streamliner as well
Yeah
my god, the nostalgia
NYC Steam Locomotive Streamliners are my favorite, next to the N& W J class # 611.
🎶All I want is a bit of redefining!
A slinky, slicker, swifter coat that’s smooth and shining
To get the speed I really need! Streamlining!🎶
Ahh memories
Perfect example I can use to make my point of these engines very clear
Whoosh! you wonder who is passing through! Whoosh! You won’t won’t believe it’s even true! Whoosh! but all you see of me will be, a shiny streak of racing blue!
Go Thomas Go, Go Thomas Go!!!!
This isn't about Thomas and friends
That streamliner is my favorite to kiddo and its still alive burning oil and pounding down the tracks
I love the hudson
hey 4449 survived
Along with N&W 611 and C&O 490
Yo anyone in the 2020s here if yes wassup doesn't this video show nostalgia?

The kids made this the most awesome video ever!
I love your channel! Keep up the good work!
SP 4449 Look's Very Nice.
I love the NYC 20th century limited Dreyfus Hudson
Streamlined steam engines RULE
Steam is king on the rails
This is where I learned all my train intelligence
32 year old thats how old i am daylight is oil powerd
This is why I play Trainz 12 all the time.
This was my childhood!
ahhhhhh i wish i have those
The only thing I don’t like is that when James Coffey says “The Hudson, The Daylight, and The Burlington Zephyr,” it shows the New York Central trains. Everything else it perfect 👌
My favorite streamliner is the Santa Fe Blue Goose
How come N&W 611 is not here?
Or Santa Fe’s blue goose
So much people forgets about the Santa fe blue goose. And most people think mistake 611 and her class to be weaker than 4449 and his class
I hope you Upload The Grand Canyon Railway from Part 7 as well.
1:41 Canadian Pacific #2317’s whistle
4449 and Dreyfus Hudson❤❤❤🚂
spectaaaaaaacular
1:41 that audio it's from Berkshire Productions
Did you know the coast daylight actually started in 1937 with the introduction of the GS-2 and GS-3 but the locomotive in the film was built in the 1940s as it is a GS-4 which were started being built in early 1941

4:27: The Hudson, Daylight and Burlington Zephyr...
The middle train isn’t even the Daylight!
the one on the right isnt even the zephyr
They're bad.
my favror train is the train ( i like all of them xD )
Who read this? They did a great job
Unlike most people, i like the empire state express and the drifus hudson
The streamlined NYC Hudson locomotive looks like Connor from Thomas & Friends.
Connor was based off of it
they put me in Thomas and Friends?
I think they forgot that the emd/c E and F series were designed with streamlining
Can you guys make a segment from I love toy trains number 11 about the streamlined locomotives?
Any American streamlined steam engine is either Extinct, under construction, a 4-8-4, or a C&O Hudson.
Reuploaded
All of these Streamliners in this Video was scrapped Irl (except 4449) which is very sad
4449 is still around today
I love it 🕭🔔🔔🕭🔔🕭🔔
4449 is the survivor
The thing wrong about this is that there are still restored streamliners out there
And I meant the steam version of streamliners
Coolest.
0:44 What company manufactured that model of the Daylight?
MTH premier
0:48 why does the backround look like an oversized lionel g scale thomas
Rio grande 5629: 1988 Mercury.
Do streamliners ever pulled freight?
Yup, primarily on SP, The GS steam locomotives were downgraded to mostly freight service in the 50's due to dieselization.
3801 from Australia did during WW2
And so as N&W
From part 7 1999.
The daylight is my favorite to
R.I.P tom mccomas.
