Since 1965/6 when I first realised her she has constantly soothed me through her voice as well as got me dancing on the faster songs. I feel absolutely so lucky to have been born and grown up with her music and voice.. Her gift is beyond belief...just superlative.

I always say that Columbia was her university training! Cecil went to Morehouse, Erma went to Clark College and Aretha went to Columbia.
