Game 1 of Merfolk vs Titan the Merfolk player didn’t need to turn a land into an island, they were already all islands because of Dryad. He just needed enough damage to hit for 24 because all his creatures were unblockable.
If I am not missing something it is offset by Damien missing lethal on the other side of the table. Instead of Mirrorworks he could have found a bounceland (at least Boros Garrison should still be in his deck/hand) for extra 6 damage to kill Nathaniel.
