Bruce, I occasionally do commercial reviews for companies and some of them were complaining that the products on the shelf were competitors so I decided it was easier just to clear it off. Why are there the different modes? Bike, car, etc. Isn't adding air the same across whatever you pumping up? PSI is PSI, right? Or is it because of the presets for whatever you're pumping up?
The different selections give you an easy, average starting point for the different pressures. You do have total control over the adjustment but starting at 50 psi for a bike tire is easier than starting at zero every time and have to adjust.
