- Alright guys,
We are preparing for some trips out west this year and there wont be many trees for me to hide our toilet behind so Kim bought me a poop room!
In all seriousness since we sleep IN our jeep at night we finally decided that we needed a way to keep all of our supplies dry while we were sleeping besides putting everything under the Jeep and for the price this seemed like a perfect fit.
We made this look WAAAAY more complicated than it actually is but now you don't have to read the instructions because we made all of the mistakes for you!
Let us know what your running in the comments of if this set up looks perfect for you!
ironman4x4amer...
I have just bought one, but I'm watching some videos before I set it up for the first time, lol! Thanks for posting this, great help!
Lol good luck man this thing is still holding up great!
I really appreciate this video!!! I started doing this and had no idea without instructions and as one person..I got frustrated. I feel like you told me more with video with the learning curve. Thank you!
Hey thanks so much for watching!
Outstanding guys! We love having an awning and room, you guys will get so much use out of it, but maybe bring a step stool for Kim next time 🤣
She Definitely needs a stool!
nice content, this is the video what i m looking for, the instruction. I m getting the 2mx2.5m awing and side wall for my hilux 2005. Thanks for the video, it helps me a lot. cheers from Brunei
NICE! I am so jealous that you have a Hilux! I wish we had them here!
Thanks to your real life video I was able to install and setup my Ironman 6.5x8 awning and room! I couldn't have done this without y'all! And I did remember to check which side to connect to my Hiker trailer! Thanks so much! Just wish I knew a way to use the LED lights when the awning room is set up. Any suggestions? Thanks so much!
Hey thanks for the kind words! We ended up just using a lantern in the room
I’m loving it. Waiting to see when you realize it’s backwards
Bwahahaha!!!
Excellent video, thank you!! IM4X4 makes great gear but their instructions, or lack of, really sux....
Glad it was helpful buddy!!!
"Awning" was nice 😉🤣🤣 Seriously though, looks like a nice set up. Will definitely give you privacy and a place to sit out of the weather! 👍
I’m particularly fond of that “awning” as well lol! Thanks for watching!
Just rewatched this video because we purchased a tear drop trailer for our jeep to pull and I remember y'all bought this awning and room. Thinking about getting this particular awning. How has it faired in your travels? Do you recommend pooping in it? Etc 😅. Thanks always for the great content
Yes we still absolutely love that awning and room! It is a great room to poop in…much better than sitting out in the open!
Torn between this and ARB setup. Almost the same, except ARB has more screen area. I guess it’ll come down to what ever is in stock.
We have no complaints with this one so far
It was fun watchng you guys set everything up. I have the 6.5ft x 8ft Ironman awning on my Ranger. Got the awning/awning room combo but have yet to use the room. Regardless, the awning and light bar are awesome.
Absolutely! We rarely use ours as well!
@@DownSouth_Adventures I mean, I would love to use it but the winds in the Ocotillo and Mojave Deserts are so unpredictable and the awnings & rooms will set sail if the gusts start kicking up.
Hey, enjoyed the straight scoop of figuring it out as you go. That is so real world. I'm wondering if you could pack the room away with the floor still attached, so you wouldn't have to re-install it every time.
Yep that’s how we carry it now!
@Down South Off-Road and Outdoor
so it can be packed away with the walls connected still?
So much have yall used this since installing especially on ur out west trip?
We used the awning out west but since we never really saw any people we stayed naked most of the time out west.
@@DownSouth_Adventures nice naked is the best way to stay
@@shack200351 YESSIR!
How high did you mount the awning?
About 3 inches above the top of the jeep
You guys make me crack up. Great set up video too. How you feeling with the awning and room now a few months in?
We still love it! For the price you can’t beat Ironman 4x4!
Could you leave the floor attached when packing it up? Would it still fit inside the bag?
That's a great question!! So, we did actually keep the floor attached for when we use it, however the bag did become a bit of a pain. Think squeezing a sleeping bag back into its bag but times 100 bigger! LOL We have since moved to a standard sized tote to store it in and carry on the back of the Jeep in the RucRak
Thanks for your reply :)@@DownSouth_Adventures
Laughed all the way through it. Thanks for that 🤣 . Between this and the "my wet Willy" (can't remember the name name 😂) you have plenty of places to get out of the rain. 👍
We should definitely have all the bases covered….I think! Thanks for watching Geoffrey!
the Led light strip can be used on both sides. from what I was told. the front has a lip that should be able to hold it while using the annex.
Nice! Thanks for that info!
@@DownSouth_Adventures no worries, waking up having my first cup of coffee. Laughing at how comical you guys are. Thanks for sharing the video.
Omg yaw a trip ! Hey I think I'm like you figure it out as you go lol . I'm tall and work with miggets lol but hey fork lift not far away .. great looking all way around ! Especially roof mount for roll out !
Song came to mind . Beetles - Help ! 😂😂😂
Lol yeah that would’ve been a good one to play for this!
In the future let it lay down off the top and hook up all your poles then stand it up. Thats how you do pop up camper awnings.
Our game plan for next time is definitely totally different!
look amazing, a bit overpriced for my pocket but so nice to have...
Yes but It’s definitely the most affordable option out there for this type of set up.
If I was Ironman I would be embarrased with this review of there product. This was painful to watch you guys set it up 😅😂.
Tip for next time. Set it up first, then do a video on how to set it up, once you figure it out.
Watch a different channel….we always do it straight up without reading instructions. We pay for everything out of our pocket and don’t care what Ironman thinks about it
@@DownSouth_Adventures I really appreciated your way of doing this. I have this awning and room on my camper and made the same mistakes yesterday setting it up for the first time.
@@coloradomallcrawlers Man I wish you could've watched this first and saved yourself the trouble lol! Thanks for watching!
Ive never got anything from Ironman that come with instructions lol
If I’m being honest we wouldn’t have read them anyway lol!
🤔 Are you referring to our oversized, obnoxious awning? 😂
Nooooooo We would love 270 awning! I think she’s talking about the awnings that are longer than the vehicles lol
@Down South Off-Road and Outdoor 😂 I just had to.
Ridiculous....
What is ridiculous?
