I have the second SH-2000 I've owned. At one time I had the SH-1000. SH-2000 and SH-3 (sales sample before they changed to the 3a) Sadly, I had to sell a bunch of synths in the late 90's to pay for rent and tuition. Kicking myself now....I should have lived in my car and kept the keyboards.
They were quite popular with 'one-man-bands' - the type of musician that was often founds at (budget) wedding receptions and anniversaries. They usually played an organ with a drum machine and the SH-2000 was build to be placed on top of an organ giving it an extra keyboard and some interesting solo presets. That particular type of musician could not use a non-preset synthesizer, because when you are playing alone there is simply no time to adjust 17 knobs to get something that resembles a xylophone or an accordion, so presets are the way to go. Nice, great to hear it being used. I still use it a lot, works well and I love the amount of expression you can put into it, a lot of fun!
