I just had a look at ABBA discography. "One of us" topped the charts in Germany and hit number 3 in the UK, AT and CH. The B-side of the single "Should I laugh or cry" hit Nr 2 in Belgium and the Netherlands. As such, it should not have been on this list as it was a genuine hit internationally. Like an angel passing through my room, on the other hand never charted and really belonged on this compilation. I dare say it was the best song on the entire album.
ABBA's pure and absolute beauty , talent and perfection how pop group in all aspect . The Biggest Pop Group of all times in the world until today for me . My God those very beautiful angelic voices . What a beauty , elegance and very high level , cathegory , standar and quality . I love ABBA and all her music forever . The Girls are so like angels , pure and perfect beauty .
The way old friends do is just a breathtaking hymn and one man one woman is clearly underrated because it doesn’t only have the hit-tunes and glorious vocals, but it also has great lyrics. Simple lyrics, not a big story, but that’s what makes it so special…the quiet notes and the tiny little emotions that wake up inside of me when I follow the song…it’s just amazing!
Despite being an ABBA fan for 45 years, I only heard Cassandra for the first time last year, and I'm totally in love with it. It is a *_beautiful_* song. Another work of art from these geniuses.
Great choise I love all their music from first to last but really underrated songs for me real masterpices music and lyrics : 1. The day before you came 2. I leat the music speak 3. Like an angel passing throu my room 4. Andante andante 5. Our last summer 6.Eagle Many critics say dancing Queen is a perfect ( i agree ) but it is not the only one. My opinion is that on Lp Arrivle ,The album, Voules Vous, Super Trouper and The Visitors there are no bad songs. It is simply Pop Music at it's best. Songs above are also my favouirte Abba songs for asimple personal reson They tell stories i can relate to. . . Half awake and half in dreams Seeing long forgotten scenes So the present runs into the past Now and then become entwined Playing games within my mind Like the embers as they die Love was one prolonged goodbye And it all comes back to me tonight In the gloom Like an angel passing through my room I close my eyes And my twilight images go by All too soon Like an angel passing through ABBA 1981
I agree with many of the choices here especially, 'I've Been Waiting For You', 'Move On', 'Hole in Your Soul', and 'Good As New'. I would have included 'Head Over Heels' and 'When All is Said and Done', quite sophisticated pop pieces from their later albums. I also like 'That's Me' and 'The Name of the Game', which are often overlooked. The whole 'Voulez Vous' album, which I still own in my collection, is a masterpiece in sound and production with 'The King Has Lost His Crown' and 'Kisses of Fire' being among my favourites, a little more sassy and sexy than their usual style.
One if Us should have been a number 1 but was kept off from the top spot by Human League - Don't you want me? and Cliff Richard - Mistletoe and Wine. The on-going harmonies are fantastic as well as Agnetha's lead vocal.
Dance While the Music still goes on, will always bring up bitter sweet memories. My list is way too long to list. Isn't every true fans list a mile long??
Oddly enough, "The Visitors" is my all time favorite song from ABBA. Followed by "When All Is Said And Done". From there on there are too many other favorites. :) Love Abba and always will. I sure do hope in 2021 they finally release these new songs they have been talking about for the last four years. P.S. Don't forget "On And On And On".
I don’t think it’s odd the “The Visitors” is your favorite ABBA song. I think it demonstrates your excellent taste and discerning ear when it comes to brilliance in songwriting and technical precision in production. Excellent choice to be your favorite.
"The Visitors" is among my favorite ABBA songs as well. I like their last years more than the early ones. For me, "Should I Laugh or Cry" and "The Day Before You Came" are missing from this list.
@@michaelengelby732 Regrettably, I'm not happy with it and I was so looking forward to it. I know others love it like its the second coming of Christ and that's great for them. But this is not the ABBA I want to remember them by. I will say I LOVE Bennys contribution to the Album. The musical part is amazing and he truly is one of the best composers of all time. As for the ladies, their voices are beautiful as always. They do sound older but that's because they are. The problem lies in Bjorn's lyrics.... sigh. Their not jiving with me. Their just not fun. I really don't enjoy songs about Divorce, couples fighting, women changing who they are so the 'man' will take them back. I find it very dated as far as relationships go. Almost chauvinistic. I know I'll get booed for that but it's just what I feel. The only song on the whole album that I do like is the first one, "I Still Have Faith In You". But that's where it ends for me. I will still listen to all their older stuff and sadly put this one on the back of the shelf.
@@adamjones-ps I get it. It's ABBA geriatric. You can't really blame them. It is their style to sing about what is affecting them. They've always done that. Personally, I like it. Last night was my 3rd full listen. Another catchy song is "Keep an Eye on Dan". This time I really listened to the lyrics and I realized I was listening to a song about babysitting. I burst out laughing. To me, the mixing for the album is bass shy. I thought I might be remembering through nostalgic ears, but "Visitors" has lots of punch to it as do quite a few songs of their back catalog. It will be interesting to get a 4K Blu-ray of the concert next year. I think that might be more in-line with what people are remembering. A decent mix of their best songs and from Voyage.
OH ABBA IST WUNDERBAR UND BESTE POP GRUPPE MUSIK IN DER WELT FÜR IMMER !!!! DANKE GOTT FÜR ABBA !!!! I LOVE ABBA FOREVER AND ALL HER MUSIC !!! THANK GOD FOR ABBA !!!
To me, one of the biggest underrated songs is 'Put On Your White Sombrero', which was rejected for the Super Trooper album. It didn't turn up until it was released as a 'B' side in the mid-90s. It tells a clever story - and it is a real showcase for Frida's vocals. It should have been on this list.
"Cassandra", "If it wasn't for the nights", "Move on", "Our last summer", "Dance while the music still goes on", "Lovelight" - однозначно 👍 Definitely a big 👍
"Kisses of Fire", is at the top of my ABBA list. "Elaine", then followed by," Lovers Live a Little Longer". Always first on my Spotify running tunes. BTW...If anyone knows of a gently used Time Machine in working condition, please contact me! Looking to go back to 1970's.
Abba success exploded at a time when albums only had a couple of singles releases ; imagine Abba albums with 6 singles ! Dance ( while the music still goes on ) was perfect pop with great production . Could have make an incredible 3rd single from Waterloo ...Me and I on Supertrouper is awesome too ...
ABBA was with me from my late teens since 1974 until my mid 20's. It was great music for becoming an adult. I still like and love ABBA. Got their albums when they were released. They were and are The Greatest band ever!
I couldn't agree more with this list! I think the lyrics, tunes and harmonies have never been fully appreciated for the intricate complexities they are. I own all of their songs (what true fan doesn't?) and I can just listen to ABBA straight down the list and I don't mind a listening to any one of them. I'm so thrilled that they are releasing new music in 2021. I'm expecting more great writing and singing and I'm sure I won't be disappointed.
Its amazing that with all the songs they put out there, so few were not up to their usual brilliance, and several of these, Bang a Boomerang, Our last summer, and the piper for example are some of my favorites. They were also searching and trying different ideas and grooves. An amazing band, fantastic. So many good memories attached to their music.
I'm getting goosepimples just listening to all these fantastic and poetic songs....who needs the beatles or the rolling stones....ABBA were always my favourite group
I just heard "Lovelight" (No.14) recently for the very first time and now it's one of my favourites; "underrated songs" more than anything else because most of them don't fall into the category of being the particular "sound" ABBA is known for which has nothing to do with their quality.🌹
All these so called underrated songs are the best. They should make 5 more Mamma Mia movies featuring these songs. The Piper and I let the music speak, eagles, sing you my love song, for the price of one, the king has lost his crown, angel eyes, marionette.. The list is endless!!! Love my fav band. ALL THEIR SONGS!!
Great calls on If It Wasn't for the Nights, Kisses of Fire, and As Good as New, as well as Elaine. In fact, with regard to "Nights", "Fire" and "New", Voules Vous was such a strong album, virtually every song on it could have been a hit.
Устами АВВА поёт Всевышний...Лучше хрустального ангельского голоса Агнеты и бархатного ласкающего слух голоса Фриды и гениальной музыки АВВА нет ничего не свете!👍❤💋💋💋😀
95% of these songs should have been released as singles, any other group would be thrilled with the quality of these songs. Abba should have released at least 20 more songs as singles from their albums.
One man one woman, another town, our last summer, the piper, it it wasn’t for the nights all among my faves. As good as new on the top of this list is my top too!
They have so many great songs that really good songs pass you by. So Long a fabulous rock anthem and He is Your Brother really good. And People Need Love.
Most songs in this list belong to my favourite ones. "I' m a marionette", how much darkness. So long", a dynamite. "Lovers live a little longer", I still love it so much. "I wonder", a masterpiece. I would definitely add "MY MAMA SAID", I think it was never a success, and it is mesmerising.
I've decided to make my own top 11 underrated songs. No doubt some on my list will gain more recognition thanks to Mamma Mia. Note that all of these are in no particular order except for the first one which is my all time fave. You can probably also tell I'm a Frida stan! 1. When All Is Said And Done 2. Cassandra 3. Andante Andante 4. As Good As New 5. I Wonder (Departure) 6. Hasta Manana 7. Why Did It Have To Be Me? 8. When I Kissed The Teacher 9. Me And I 10. Our Last Summer 11. The Piper
I particularly love numbers 2, 3, 5, 6, 7 (live w/o Agnetha- no offense to her) and 8. "Why Did IT Have To Be Me?" live with Bjorn & Frida singing is probably both the former and the latter's best performance. I LOVE Agnetha, but this performance in particular showed that Frida, like Agnetha, could have been a huge star in her own right. None of them would have been (or were in the past) as good solo as they are together, but they are all tremendous talents individually. Agnetha and Frida go without saying, Benny is a phenomenal piano/keyboard player and a naturally gifted musician & songwriter, and Bjorn is one of the best lyricists that ever lived in my opinion. And let me say this, living in the U.S. from the early 70's to now, I only discovered ABBA a few years ago, so I don't have a lifelong bias towards them, but in my opinion, they are even better than the Beatles (who I also love).
When All Is Said and Done is my favorite ever ABBA song as well probably. It takes the best of ABBA’s beats, backing vocals and chorus harmonies and puts them into one. Plus the video AND the Spanish cover (‘No Hay a Quien Culpar) are iconic. However since it does have its own video, I don’t tend to think of it as majorly underrated. It should be a bit more popular, but it does already have like 20 million views.
30. bang a boomerang ❤ 29. casandra 28. if it wasn't for the nights ❤ 27. i've been waiting for you 26. move on 25. kingkong song 24. the way old friends do 23. our last summer 22. the piper 21. lovers live a little longer 20. rock n roll band 19. gonna sing you my love song 18. dance while the music goes on 17. two for the price of one 16. me and i 15. the king has lost his crown 14. love light 13. kisses of fire 12. i'm a marionette 11. hole in your soul 10. one man one woman 9. so long 8. tropical loveland 7. another town another train 6. tiger 5. i wonder 4. soldiers 3. the visitors 2. elaine 1. as good as new
I looooove 'The King Has Lost His Crown' and 'The Piper', the storytelling songs. Another I love from the 'Ring Ring' album is 'Disillusion' the only Abba song written by Agnetha as opposed to Benny and Bjorn.
i dont think a week goes by i dont have a bit of an ABBA session, crank up the tunes (popular and not so known) and think to myself, thankyou for the music guys :)
loved all the songs mentioned. Two of them I have never heard before. I feel that a lot of ABBA's song have been underrated over the years. They seem to "discover! " a new song every now and then. ABBA will go down as one of the greatest bands of ALL time.
Great work. This is a brilliant collection of songs that a lot of people don’t even know about. There’s enough material here for 3 Greatest Hits compilations. Nice job 👍
@@danfrost3043 Yes, you are right but the most people, who aren't big ABBA-Fans only know the songs that are played on the radio or disco. And that are always the same like Dancing Queen, The Winner Takes It All and so on.
Superb collection of all the one's I remember and are truly underrated! The only one I didn't know all the words to was Rock and Roll Band. Thanks for this! Me and I and Kisses of Fire particular faves... I could go on but there all so good!
@@alexisrodriguez2801 Yes, they are great, but especially younger people don't know this gem, or they know it only from the film Mamma Mia and say "Aaaw, Amanda Seyfried sings soooo good", but they have never heard the original, which is a hundred times better and that is sad.
Many of these songs are well known in Europe. ABBA didn't spend a lot of time touring and pushing their music in the United States so songs that should have been hits went unnoticed here.
I love them all, all, all. Some people in my friendships' list ate Not so overwhelmed of their Album VOYAGE, but I see this as a new masterpiece, too. And my soul is very thankful for their new gift to the human bring!!!!
A lot of people aren’t understanding that Underrated means it’s a great song and it doesn’t get the credit it deserves, not that it isn’t a good song.

Probably ma favorite. It's a true songwriting gem. And the guitar solo is incredible - I'm saying that as a metal head and a shredder :)
'Dance while the music still goes on' always got to me. Sad, but true feelings of lost love.

Another Town, Another Train is such a peaceful song
Cassandra is my favourite; the melodies, harmonies and the story.

The fact that many of those underrated songs are quite well-known just underlines the stardom of ABBA.
The fact that some songs such as "That's Me" and "My Love, My Life" are not even included on the list underlines the stardom of ABBA too.
Like an angel passing through my room. One of their best. If you ever can't sleep, it's perfect.
Possibly one of their most atmospheric songs, ever! Yes, one of my favourites too.
and AFAI the onyl time Frida did a song completely solo.
Dance (while the music still goes on) is one of the rare songs where Benny & Bjorn sing lead vocals. It will always be one of my favorite ABBA songs.
they suck, they should let the girls sing
One of the best
Summer night city is another underrated ABBA song
But it made the airwaves.
'Angel eyes' and 'lovers live a little longer', definitely deserve recognition
“ if it wasn’t for the night “ my favourite.
Hard to believe it was kicked as a single in favour of Chiquitita even tho decision was correct my surprise was they did not make it single .
A highlight in the great Voulez Vous album.
I just don't understand why it was plan B of the "voulez vous" single!

I also like "head over heels" "people need love" and "two for the price of one".
PS. Can "Eagle" be considered underrated? If yes, I would add it. A great, great song, too, I have listened to it a million times.
I've decided to make my own top 11 underrated songs. No doubt some on my list will gain more recognition thanks to Mamma Mia. Note that all of these are in no particular order except for the first one which is my all time fave. You can probably also tell I'm a Frida stan!
1. When All Is Said And Done
2. Cassandra
3. Andante Andante
4. As Good As New
5. I Wonder (Departure)
6. Hasta Manana
7. Why Did It Have To Be Me?
8. When I Kissed The Teacher
9. Me And I
10. Our Last Summer
When All Is Said And Done is the counterpart to "THe WInner Takes It all", and the def. more upbeat farewell to Frida/Benny
Since when has there been a bad ABBA song? They were perfectionists, they blew everyone away in their heyday.
No one talks about bad ABBA songs here. We all know, that there aren't any bad ABBA songs. Read the first comment which is pinned on above

"Happy Hawaii" - definitely one of those.
I looooove 'The King Has Lost His Crown' and 'The Piper', the storytelling songs. Another I love from the 'Ring Ring' album is 'Disillusion' the only Abba song written by Agnetha as opposed to Benny and Bjorn.
TIGER….TIGER…TIGER!!!!!!!! My fave Abba song!
Bang A Boomerang would have been higher up on my list. Thank you for reminding us of these great songs.
My love my life. Sitting in the palmtree.Hasta mañana. Andante Andante.Arrival .Our last summer. Eagle. When I kissed the teacher...I can t finish!
Eagle !!!
Under attack!!
I always liked Under Attack better than 'One of Us'.
Especially 'I Let the Music Speak' ... very classy !
Put on your white
I don't think there is an ABBA song that I don't love.
I absolutely LOVE these SONGS!!! ❤❤❤❤
i dont think a week goes by i dont have a bit of an ABBA session, crank up the tunes (popular and not so known) and think to myself, thankyou for the music guys :)
I love ABBA
loved all the songs mentioned.
Nice job 👍
If you're a real ABBA fan , you know them. Most of them are on Abba' Albums.
All Abba songs are great n also the singers ,talented...love them n their songs..
"I've been waiting for you" is a masterpiece..love it❤️❤️😍
I am wondering... how can a gem like "Our last summer" be underrated.
I was wondering the same... in fact, most of these songs are just great.
Underrated means it doesn’t get the respect it deserves not that it’s not as good
@@alexisrodriguez2801 Yes, they are great, but especially younger people don't know this gem, or they know it only from the film Mamma Mia and say "Aaaw, Amanda Seyfried sings soooo good", but they have never heard the original, which is a hundred times better and that is sad.
Who underrates it? Where is your evidence????
@@Lisa-M How do you know that? How do you know what younger people know?
Many of these songs are well known in Europe. ABBA didn't spend a lot of time touring and pushing their music in the United States so songs that should have been hits went unnoticed here.
I agree with "As Good As New". One of my favorites from ABBA. Should have been a hit.
FABULOUS!!!! ALL ABBA songs are SUPER!!! Love em!!!!
Oh god thank you !!! As good as new is my ultimate favorite
I love them all, all, all. Some people in my friendships' list ate Not so overwhelmed of their Album VOYAGE, but I see this as a new masterpiece, too. And my soul is very thankful for their new gift to the human bring!!!!
