Outside, Lexus RX still looks great. If they update also the infotainment system it will be really competitive. The interior has great quality and the whole car has high quality made mechanical and electrical components. I own a Lexus RX and I'm not bothered at all from the CVT transmission. The only place where it is unsuitable is the German Autobahn with no speed limit. Once you gain speed in a normal motorway, it is serene at constant speeds 130-160 km/h. And the V6 has quite a good sound when you need to accelerate.
The apparent lack of boot space (at least on paper) is because Lexus uses the German VDA standard to measure it. Most competitors will measure boot space as if you're pouring a liquid into it, i.e. every nook and cranny is filled. The VDA method instead measures how many 200x50x100mm blocks (so, one liter of volume) you can fit in. The blocks are not flexible so not every little corner can be used. As a result the Lexus figure for boot space is lower than the competitors but it's a much more realistic representation of how much you can fit in.
Dan, It seems the days of the V6 Lexus RX are numbered. Those who prefer a silky smooth V6 over a turbo 4 should stock up now!!! The next RX Hybrid will probably switch to the impressively efficient 4 cylinder setup we already see in the Highlander and Sienna. For the perpetually beleaguered Canadian auto industry, it is welcome news that the NX is joining the RX as a made-in-Canada Lexus offering.
It’s so boring how you review guys predictably crap on the infotainment. All systems have idiosyncrasies. Get over it.. tried looking in the settings ? Also you guys are far too performance centric; the CVT is excellent for a long distance cruiser which is what it is , it’s not a sports SUV
Infotainment system is fine; “track pad” is easy to use. CVT is good and can get up to speed fast. F sport trim gives you different look and suspension.
Great video! The vehicles of the Lexus RX line are reliable and luxurious. When it comes to engine longevity and great comfort on the road, the RX series is definitely a good pick for you. These vehicles have quiet cabin noise and comfortable ambience. Economically, its fuel economy is incredible and the resale price is also great. Choose this vehicle if you want luxury, reliability, low cost maintenance, and good value if you’d want to trade it in later on. Nonetheless, the common complaints of the RX series that the Internet generally talk about are: 1) Outdated/old interior design. A lot of consumers are expecting a complete redesign. 2) Sluggish acceleration even if you upgrade to the F sport trim compared to its competitors. 3) Pricy upgrades/options for certain amenities that its competitors would provide as standard features.
I’ve heard some say the f sport isn’t as smooth of a ride compared to non f sport. Might be that f sport upgraded package you mentioned they are speaking about
@@rightlanehog3151 Well. If, you look at the stats, RX become popular bc it catered to women. I complained about the seat sizes in the Big three for years however, it never happened. I was happy for this brand to consider smaller stature individuals. If, you want a bigger seats go with the LX model?

I'm 6ft tall and sit in the back seat very comfortably. The head room is fine.
great reviews dude, very knowledgeable
Thanks so much for the kind words!! Dan puts his soul into these reviews, we're so glad they're appreciated!!

I personally can’t see Lexus sticking that engine in the RX, but I guess time will tell!
@@danilika9420 Are you referring to the 2.4 turbo 4 that just went in the NX or the 2.5 Hybrid or both?
@@rightlanehog3151 I was referring to the 2.5L hybrid setup from the Highlander and Sienna you mentioned.
@@danilika9420 We should find out in the next few months. Take a few moments to consider how lucky we are to be given advanced warning. ;-)

Cvt is for a Corolla
Agreed!

And you can most definitely seek through different stations, it's on the steering wheel. 🤣
I really don't care about the touchscreens in cars. I prefer cars without them.
how tall are you im 6’4 I want to know how to feel about this.
im 6´6 and fit in well even with sunroof
You didn't spend enough time with the 450H, this is horrible.

It''s very likely the variable suspension!
Lexus hybrid baby
I think Lexus have commissioned a book for car reviewers called 'infotainment systems for dummies'. Quite a revelation.
Its built for 5'3" drivers
Sadly, that is problem with many of Toyota's newest products.
I’m pretty happy too. Most manufacturers do not consider this.
@@paulettehorn3157 Any mainstream vehicle should have a design that works for drivers between 5'3" - 6'3" .

With RX and sport in the same sentence sounds ironic.
Reasonable comfort? There's not much more comfortable than an RX450h!
New RX450h no longer has v6. Not as good.
