It started with Mushroomhead fans throwing a padlock at Paul Gray, the bassist for Slipknot before he died in 2010. Why? Because of his mask. Both he and Pig Benis wore pig masks, but Paul didn't have a padlock going through its' nose. That's it, that's all there is to it. Both bands have respect for each other and there are even discussions about doing a tour together. I'm 36 been listening to Mushroomhead since I was 17. I fell in love instantly. Sun doesn't rise was the first song I heard. I listen to old and new every day. Their logo Stitch face was my second tattoo 17.
I have loved this song so long. Its simply brilliant. The lyrics are superb. The composition of the song combined with the lyrics and way they are sung is unlike any other. Great song. Its very hard hitting and it actually, consistantly, makes sense throughout. Quite an accomplishment.
I rememeber my first concert was mushroomhead in joliet illinois. I was brought onto the bus and went and got the logo tattooed the very next day. Respect. Awesome people and even more awesome music

Pavel Panayotov Watching what sort of music there was actual back in 2003-2004 (SlipKnot, Mudvayne, Linkin Park, Sepultura, Mushroomhead, Disturbed, Papa Roach, Tool, POD, SOAD...) Man, I'm happy I had the chance to be part of this!
I saw these guys live a few years ago, and this is one example of a band who is literally x100 better live. Their performance and showmanship is great.
How I met my soulmate. Region ZP UA. Couple of local bands warming up and during sessions various songs by popular bands flashed and then somebody brings up this track - my reaction was - wow here we go! I thought nobody would ever even not hear but to play it! ........... That's how I found my man up there.

I can't feel my faith
Can't recall my crime
Damaged in our own way, alone in our own way
Desolate highway

YES!!!!!
Hell yea. Gotta love Ill Ninos single on there
Amén
Greatest soundtrack ever imo.
That soundtrack introduced me to Mushroomhead, still one of my favorite soundtracks
Mushroomhead's lineup upon release of XIII in October 2003: vocalist Jeffrey "Nothing" Hatrix, vocalist Jason "J Mann" Popson, bassist Jack "Pig Benis" Kilcoyne, guitarist Marko "Bronson" Vukcevich, guitarist Dave "Gravy" Felton, keyboardist Tom "Shmotz" Schmitz, sampler Rick "St1tch" Thomas and drummer Steve "Skinny" Felton.
Hatrix can just never be replaced. I really like couple songs from the past few years. But that amazing OG sound will never be back.
Make me drop down on my knees, break me down until I question me, darkness can't destroy my drive...
Hi jesus
Goddammit, Jesus. Why are you high and commenting on youtube videos again?
+Jesus Christ Ive seen u comment on a few videos I really like. You have great taste!
what!
pls Satan is better.:D
"Sun Doesn't Rise" and "Destroy the World Around Me" are my favorites.
Solitaire Unraveling sounds crappy to you?
"Destroy the World Around Me"?
They have so many better songs than this.
"Bullshit aderts that need to be stubbed out" are my favourites.
Start a movement you sad sloppy gits!
Guys dont pick on this fella. So what if he likes those 2 particular songs?I once considered myself a mushroomhead fan and solitaire unraveling was never in my top 10 songs list back then, just never ever. Not even close :), so ye, opinions differ
The visuals are so good on this song it's insane!
Just discovered this band when I searched for years something similar to Slipknot and I finally found what I was looking for. This is one of the most underrated bands of all time it's not close.
Yes and the more you listen the better it gets and the more you understand the depth of the songwriting
Agree
I'm 36 been listening to Mushroomhead since I was 17. I fell in love instantly. Sun doesn't rise was the first song I heard. I listen to old and new every day. Their logo Stitch face was my second tattoo 17.
No one cares who likes who. I came here for the fucking metal!!!!!
shut up you filthy juggalo
+hurr Derp :) I have a remedy for you. Go to the supermarket, ask for something called "Viagra" and it'll help you go fuck yourself!
Have a nice day!
+Juggalo972 whoop whoop
+James Elliotte Rock on, fam!
+Juggalo972 Nice Hellsing Abridged reference.
His singing really reminds me of faith no more (Mike Patton) in this song.
Jeffrey Nothing is a huge Mike Patton fan, so it’s no surprise there.
Sure, also Mushroomhead is Alternative Metal (major aspects) combined with other subgenres 👍
he sings , great vox
I have loved this song so long. Its simply brilliant. The lyrics are superb. The composition of the song combined with the lyrics and way they are sung is unlike any other. Great song. Its very hard hitting and it actually, consistantly, makes sense throughout. Quite an accomplishment.
I rememeber my first concert was mushroomhead in joliet illinois. I was brought onto the bus and went and got the logo tattooed the very next day. Respect. Awesome people and even more awesome music
Some kind of evidence
Some kind of reason
Why i can't find the way
To begin my life
Somewhere in this dying day
If i could only find the way for my escape
I find it hard to concentrate with all my past mistakes
To begin my life
I can't feel my faith can't recall my crime
I think i sealed my fate along the way i may have lost my mind
I guess we're all damaged in our own way
Alone in our own way
Distant headlights desolate highway
I can't feel my faith can't recall my crime
I think i sealed my fate along the way i may have lost my mind
I guess we're all damaged in our own way
Alone in our own way
Distant headlights desolate highway
Sun doesn't rise at all
Who knows how far i'll fall
Sun doesn't rise at all
Who knows how far i'll fall
With eyes wide open
Can't recall my crime, i think i see my fate
I can watch my world evolve
Alone in our own way, i think i see my fate
Nothing left to die for
Can't recall my crime, i think i see my fate
Thoughts inside can make me crawl
I think i see my fate
Make me drop down on my knees
Break me down until i question me
Darkness can't destroy my drive
Sun doesn't rise at all
Who knows how far i'll fall
Sun doesn't rise at all
Welcome my downfall
Somewhere in this dying day as i plan my great escape
I find it hard to concentrate while you maintain control
I fold and falter empty altar all i gave i pray it makes me whole
I think the brinks around the corner and there's an error in my soul
I can't feel my faith can't recall my crime
I think i sealed my fate along the way i may have lost my mind
I guess we're all damaged in our own way
Alone in our own way
Distant headlights desolate highway
Sun doesn't rise at all
Who knows how far i'll fall
Sun doesn't rise at all
Who knows how far i'll fall
I can't see my fate
Can't recall my crime
Damaged in our own way
Alone in our own way
Desolate highway

Pavel Panayotov Watching what sort of music there was actual back in 2003-2004 (SlipKnot, Mudvayne, Linkin Park, Sepultura, Mushroomhead, Disturbed, Papa Roach, Tool, POD, SOAD...) Man, I'm happy I had the chance to be part of this!
God damn I love this freaking song. I love this *SONG!!!*
2022, still an awesome song
My therapist turned me on to Mushroomhead. He thought they could help me. It was very therapeutic when my head exploded from the sonic discharge.
Lol
I saw these guys live a few years ago, and this is one example of a band who is literally x100 better live. Their performance and showmanship is great.
Probs my fav song from them
Best song Mushroomhead ever did 🤘🤘
try Qwerty
The Dream is Over
I saw them play this song at Open Air this past summer. They were so good live!
this was my favourite song like 5 or 6 years ago. that intro is sick
Still the best, so don't think "was" suits the subject :P
Owen is that you?
How I met my soulmate. Region ZP UA. Couple of local bands warming up and during sessions various songs by popular bands flashed and then somebody brings up this track - my reaction was - wow here we go! I thought nobody would ever even not hear but to play it! ........... That's how I found my man up there.
God damn it! This song kicks ass! Absolutely brilliant
They are absolutely at their best, seen them 4 times, Jmann on his songs, Waylon on his, plus both on songs like the dream is over. Classic, perfect, and met them all very awesome guys. Keep going guys MI supports you
One of the best concerts I have ever been to!! They put on a awesome show! They play then drink with the crowd!!
Go see the Mentors. You can do drugs with them.
All these people saying Mushroomhead is underrated are like 2 decades late lol they were very popular in the late 90's/early 00's (for a metal band)
I discovered Mushroomhead by being a bored 21 year old itching to spend money on some CDs in Walmart. XX and XIII were on the shelf. I bought them on the album art alone. Never looked back.
I love mushroomhead and slipknot..two of my favorites..they both kick ass and I would love to see them onstage together..it would be so epic
jeese. jeff is 52 years old. Thats dedication
I remember seeing the ad on MTV, an excerpt of this music video as a teenager. Instant fan. Still have the CD.
Still to this day one of my all time favorite songs.
these guys are so good live. i saw them play yesterday. my fav song by them is sun doesnt rise
Grew up listening to them. Still got the CD that has this song on it. Still so damn good.
The old chemistry must give way for the new chemistry, as the new wine does not belong in old wineskins.
*_This song fascinates me!_*
I can't feel my faith can't recall my crime
I think I sealed my fate along the way I may have lost my mind
I guess we're all damaged in our own way
Alone in our own way
Distant headlights desolate highway!
😎🤘🎧💥🎸🔥🎶🎶🎵🎵🎧
I was there during both Mushroomhead and slipknot's birth. We true fans know that the "war" between the bands and fan was totally made up by the media. They just wanted to share there music for us to enjoy, simple as that.
This band has the best choruses
Still listening to all of their music. Hell yeah!!! 😎🤘🎸💯
I have a playlist of random music that im listening to at the time just to remind me one day what i used to be into. Went to that folder today and cant believe i forgot these guys
The music, lyrics and video are legendary. Will always be one of my favorite bands hands down. Mother Metal 💀 🖤
This song never gets old
Alguem ouvindo em 2023 ??

I remember I watched this video on MTV probably +20 years ago. Still sweet as ever. Man I like this song.
ARE PEOPLE SERIOUSLY STILL ARGUING OVER MUSHROOMHEAD VS SLIPKNOT?! They're both brutal, chiiiiiiiiillll
ikr
+Berke Beidler
this, and slipknot, brutal? 10/10 comedy, would Nu Metal again.
+Berke Beidler Slipknot and Mushroomhead are brutal , i laughted more than i should =)))))))) dude , if you want something ''BRUTAL'' listen to some Black Death or Melodeath , not Slipknot :))
+Berke Beidler slipknot is rapcore. mushroo m just metal or something
+Andre Laura Melodeath isn't about brutality. Technical Death is more brutal. Goregrind also is pretty brutal
Mushroomhead and Slipknot like each other. What's wrong with the fans, then?
Best album imo
Freaking amazing song and band. I'll always love Mushroomhead.
their awesome live if u have never seen them live, ive seen them twice
13... their best album for me, in 2003 help me survive middle school a lot, because i hate it so much that school. But metal music always help me a lot.
Out of all their work this song I most relate to.... Every single word, it's so beautiful and it hurts a bit at times listening to it and feeling it. Thank you guys, your music is therapeutic for me
This is still one of my favourite songs
This was the song that introduced me to Mushroomhead. Loved the entire XIII album.
Dave Barton so you’ve been a fan for seventeen years
I love blasting this while I play along on my 7 string. Full blast. Beautiful.
If Faith No More,Slipknot,Disturbed and Mudvayne all had a child...
I guess we are all damaged in our own way. Awesome lyrics. This is how we can really feel at times. Videos are fantastic!! Music takes out of a shitty world that it can be at times 🖤🎶✨🎶✨🎶🖤
I forgot about these guys, but they still kick ass. Hell yes.
This Band is freaking awesome 👍 my friend turned me on to this band still Jamming this today!!!!
Hands down!! Their best song!!!
Oh to be 16 again hearing this for the first time 😩
Quality metal from a great band
Its awesome to have been great friends with the original members and playing shows with them back then. I've even asked many of the band members on the whole slipknot stuff and their absolutely cool with each other, just same timing when they came out lol. But I miss this mushroomhead though cause it was an awesome time for them. Plus got to be good friends with waylen when j-man left and was doing 10 thousand catilacs. Lots of memories with 216 too! So yeah been a big fan of slipknot and mushroomhead and still am.
Still hits home man,
damn lol
I like both bands_they are great!
Jason popson is incredible
great song, love it so much, never gets old.
This will ALWAYS slap! You guys really did something in this time period. Some of the best metal out there.
These guys have enough variation in their songs that I never get sick of them. Plus they fuggin rock.
one of their best songs
remember first hearing this album wow time flys when you have great tunes
One of my favorites!!!
No matter what year in time it is, Mushroomhead will always be amazing
Wow, really? I just gained a new level of respect for Mushroomead.
