That thing is a low key super sedan! Only enthusiast will know!
Agreed 💯
I want to buy a Q70 so bad. AWD!! I have a M35 now. I always watch your content. You have a Vlad TV voice..lol Keep up the good work!!!
Vlad...thanks, I haven't heard that one before, 😂😂 but I'll try to make it work for me.
And I certainly hope for success for you. It would be quite a leap, from the M35, so I usually encourage people to test drive one thoroughly to see if you like the newer one as much as your current one.
Aye he do remind me of Vlad 😂
He does have that Vlad voice. Lol. Yo but take it as a compliment. Badass car otherwise. I have a q50 2.0 but damn this one is by far my favorite car rn.
@@hp090407 😂😂 thanks. They are nice cars, more geared for comfort than your Q50, so test it out before you sign anything over
There is nothing classier to me than a long wheelbase luxury sedan.
Yes indeed! And I also like it when the long wheelbase is quite obvious. I had a jaguar XJ long wheelbase and people just thought it was a big, spacious car. With this one, people catch the extra length in the details especially from inside
Such a handsome sedan, rare to find.
Yes indeed! It broke my heart that someone hit me on the car's first trip out of town, but it's at the shop getting attended to now.
Love my Q70L... great video on all the features! it is an underated luxury car!
Thank you Sir, and Congratulations on yours as well!
I have a 2015 Q70L with the 5.6 V8 fully loaded (semi-aniline leather, sport and tech packages etc). I bought it in early 2017 with only 5,000 miles. The original MSRP was 74k. I paid only 37k. Q70's can be a great deal pre-owned! Infiniti's depreciate more than other luxury brands, especially in the first 2 years. I was able to procure an almost new fully loaded Q70L with low miles for half the MSRP when new. NO, they do NOT have Lexus or Acura reliability, but they are better than European brands. You can expect to get trouble free ownership for a solid 100k miles. However, once past the 100k point, you can expect to have to dump some serious money into it at some point. The Jenco transmissions are not strong and are prone to failure, electrical compenents also prone to fail and the 5.6 V8 is notorius for it's issues. The catalytic converters often fail costing well over 3k to repair. If not repaired promptly, pieces of the cats can blow back into the engine causing catastrophic issues. That being said, I must say I do love my Q70L The interior is absolutely gorgeous. The Japanese ash wood is exquisite. The Q70L exterior often gets mistaken for a Maserati Quattroporte. The extended body looks sharp and luxurios. The car handles great, has tons of power and comfort. You have to pay over 100k to get a German car with over 400 hp and semi- aniline leather. My Q70L now has 40k miles on it. I had no issues except one recall for the front brake pads/rotors which they replaced for free. My Q70L still looks relevant and holds its own parked next to any German and Italian made luxury cars. Only drawback is the dated tech inside. The dot matrix screen on the dash is ridiculously outdated. It would have been great if they updated the instrument cluster and touch screen. Q70L's are great values if you get one cheap with low miles. They are fairly reliable for 100k miles. With current Bidenflation and foolish economic and energy policies being implemented, I'm keeping my Q70L for at least another 3 years. Im instead going to accumulate cash and invest some of it in this bear market. In 3 years, I ll can get good money when I sell my Q70L because it will still have plenty of life left on it with less than 70k miles. Then I'll buy a 2 yr old preowned Mercedes AMG GT53 with low miles cash. That is if Infiniti doesnt replace the Q70. I would definetly consider getting another full sized 4dr pre-owned Infiniti with low miles.
Would you guy a used q70 with 80k miles for 7 grand?
Thanks, I'm staying away from the Q70L now. Ill stick with LEXUS
@danyoyoh sure! You can barely even buy a high-end mountain bike for 7k
Didn't do what I said. I got 25k on a trade-in and bought a 2019 Porsche Panamera with 13k miles. Still investing.
I been looking into one of these Q70L for a week now, all I want is the 5.6 engine 💯😎
Get on autotrader or CarGurus and then filter for the V8 engines. There are only a few on there right now, but you can save the search and even activate notifications when new ones come up for sale.
...or get notifications when prices drop.
Sometimes you get lucky immediately, and sometimes you end up waiting for a year or so, like me
@@EdBwoy yeah that’s what I been doing seen 3 in VA
@@ShakeemKash are you in VA as well? If yes, have you gotten a chance to test drive any of them?
For some reason, a lot.of them used to pop up in VA, but I live in the Midwest so I'm a little far to get there quickly.
@@EdBwoy I’m in Baltimore , I’m like 3 hours away.. just hadn’t had time post office 😂 running me
I watch a lot of car content including reviews, and this is the first video of yours I've seen. I have to say this was excellent. They would be blessed if you were to do more reviews for their lineup.
Hi, Ed, congratulations on your choice, it is a beautiful car, and quite rare for a 5.7 liter engine, I owned many different models of Infiniti in the past, I-35, M37, Q50, and now Q70 hybrid, one thing I can say about it is it is very reliable, I have never need to fix any major breakdowns in my long ownership of different models, never break down or strand me on the road, it saved me once when someone rear end me at 70 miles an hour, I totally agree with your assessment, the unfortunate thing is they don't make it anymore. :-(
I’ve owned the M35 and M37…..loved them! My 2018 Q70L with the 5.6 is by far the best car I’ve ever owned! Great review! You’re absolutely spot on about the luxury (my wife prefers to ride in the back….like I’m her chauffeur….she loves it!)
You are the best abg you have saved me and my family thousands. I'm watching from South Africa
I had a 1994 Q45 was a great car people would get in and love the analog clock
I loved those, as well as the J30 that was available around the same time. If I win the lottery I would love to get those.
I used to say, they were built to fit nice and tight like a glove.
Solid vehicle with lots of standard features.
I owned a 2005 Q45 and I regret selling it. It had reclining seats in the rear. That 4.5 liter V8 was thirsty but it was a comfortable ride.
Underrated cars, but they are nice. You could see the build quality in those vehicles, and they were pretty reliable too
The best part of that Infiniti you have there sir is the chestnut bronze exterior color which is one of the rarest colors on the Q70L lineup. That is my dream combination with the Java interior. I ended up settling for a pearl white exterior with a Java interior fully loaded. You have yourself a nice gem.
You forgot to show the weather forecast which also has an integrated doppler radar system as well. It also has an integrated tire inflation information that monitor each individual wheel.
I have that color in my q50
Yes, the color is money! I'll be honest though, I was not targeting a rare exterior color initially, I just knew that I did not want a black one. So I thought I was going to get white like yours, or gray...but when it comes to these cars, they are rare enough so you take what you can get.
Just got this car and I looooove it
I'm loving my Q70L. I've also added a subwoofer and it sounds and drives great👍The extra room in the back makes a huge difference. Mine doesn't have the blind spot warning though. Great car E 💪
Thanks man. Do you mind sharing some details on your subwoofer setup? Did you have the surround sound with the speakers in the front seats?
@@EdBwoy I had a Line output converter spliced into the rear factory subwoofer. The factory sub still works but there is a hum from the aftermarket subs that comes from the noise cancellation when the car is under 1k rpm. I did some research and the cabin mics would have to be disconnected in order to get rid of the hum. It goes away when the doors are open. The line output converter has to be an active one though. Hope this helps👍
@@whuzup3 oh yeah, I made a video on that ANC feature because it was fighting with my exhaust.
I know people usually go to disconnect the roof mic, but you should be able to access the module too and just disable the system thete
@@EdBwoy Oh cool I'll have to check that out. Thanks E you're the master with these Infiniti cars 💪
Best looking Infiniti I've ever seen
The Q70 is great, but the Q70L is certainly a looker!
Congrats on the car. Great spec. Though I will challenge you on it being the highest spec. I had an m56s and that car came with sport suspension and rear wheel steering which made a difference in handling. Regardless Fantastic car and the long wheelbase is awesome. Congrats
Thank you!
And to your point, unfortunately Infiniti did not offer the sport stuff with the long wheelbase.
And when the M nomenclature was dropped in favor of the Q70 nameplate, the rear steering went away.
I still have my fully loaded M56 sport, but on paper, the Q70L muscles the M56 with MSRP although I feel like it has room for more equipment
I bought my first Infiniti M56s sight unseen and shipped from East Coast..no test drive but this car is so quiet. My 2nd Gen CTSV was brutal and wild compared to the M56 just like Jekyll and Hyde. The tranny definitely needs a tune 👀👀. Also, your posts on Nicoforum have been so helpful with this car e.g lifter etc.
Thank you, and congrats on the purchase. Although it makes good power and could make awesome noises too, the car was tuned for luxury cruising. Plus it doesn't have too many aftermarket options like GM products.
But if you have a shop nearby, get some exhaust work done and hear it sing.
That thing is badasss 😮💨
Yes indeed!
Damn i have the 3.7 😕 q70l. With no speakers in the seat or awd. I had a few m37s 1 with the speakers in seat and power rear shade. But i love these and can only imagine the power. This is my 3rd or 4th one👏🏽
I love that car
Are you planning on doing merch? I want 1 of those hats!!
Once I settle on a good design, I'll hook you up. This was just a test so it's not 100% there
The Acura RL did that little trick , press the open button then press and hold and all the windows and sunroof opens .
In the Acura, could you roll them up using the key fob as well? I seem to recall my TL doing that...way before I was making UA-cam videos
European Q70s all window up and down holding the open and close button.
How long did it take to find this beauty? How much did you pay, and how much was it brand new?
New with all the packages they go for about 90K!
The window sticker says this one was just a hair below $78k. 7 years later I bought it for about 1/3 of that. Long wheelbase models generally hold value differently. Bonus points if it's the V8. Prices don't seem to have changed much in the 5 years I've been following them.
As for how long it took, I've been casually following the market since 2017. I was quite particular about the color combination I wanted
Don't see many Q70 on the road just like you Don't see many RLX from Acura and I think this would be the very I reason I would buy one of the 2. But this is very nice
I feel like I've seen a Q70L S?? Was i duped?? This is such a beautiful car. That color is just gorgeous. Good show sir!
That must have been a victim of sticker bombing...or suffered a mixup at the body shop, 😂
I know of one or 2 LWB owners who switched the front fascia to the sport bumper cover...and then a good number of owners also add paddle shifters so I can see why some people would want to add the S if they feel like they have made it more sporty
@@EdBwoy hate getting duped 😆
Where did you find 5.6 and awd? I spent a lot of time wanted to buy it, but all I can find around the country is only 3.7 rwd, and rarely 3.7 awd. You are lucky!
I saved a search for Q70L V8 on CarGurus, and Although they are rare, I usually see half of them RWD, and AWD is just as common. This time I saw a color combination that I liked, and it was about 3 hours away so I jumped on it.
Do you have any other criteria for your search in addition to AWD and 5.6?
Now do it give u the power on the road or should I say the highway and I have answered ur question on my mileage on My 07 M45 as well..
I outrun 5.0 stangs and camaro SS's all day.
Yeah, it's definitely a solid highway cruiser. Same ole powerplant, with a little more room to stretch out
Bro I genuinely need to know where this was recorded. It was so peacefully quiet. Even heard birds chirping 😭😭
Haha, the timing helped a little since I caught it right in the evening.
The location is Terre Haute, Indiana. Since school was out, I had the parking lot mostly to myself.
How are you bro like the Q70L... did they not offer the forest air option anymore seems like that extra button up top with the tress is harder to find. After watching ur video my M56 is loaded as could be wish I could get the 360 view camera. You need the HPS short ram intakes on the VK to open it up sounds real good at full throttle.. I have them listed on ebay.
I would advise against the short ram intakes for this or any car. I found if you break off and grind down the splash guard that is inside the airbox as it seriously disrupts the airflow, and use AFE dry drop-in filters you'll have better results for cheaper. You can also order some HPS upper intake arms, they have a wider interior diameter without the accordion effect. $200-$300 for everyrhing.
In the US, the forest air option was not offered with the Q70s. And the around view camera was not offered with any Ms.
There were a few other changes, like the rear steering for sport models, and the hard drive music box.
When shopping across the years, it can get tricky when trying to balance what you want versus what you could get
North American market definitely offered the Forrest air, I was scouting one before I bought mine plus found a other one after I made my purchase, No way they were imported vehicles for the price points they were offered at. He's missing only that option from what I could tell.
@@naumpitropcevski4197 Forest Air was indeed offered, but in the US, it was only initially offered when this generation came out. They stopped offering it from 2014. That is when the name change happened.
@@naumpitropcevski4197 however, I am very interested in learning more about your observation. If you have seen a North American vehicle labelled as a Q70 and it has Forest Air, please share the link
Very nice car.
Thank you!
Hope they make q70s again with v8
I own a Japanese version of a long Q70 - Nissan Cima. In the Japanese version, the back row has more features and is much nicer.
the Fuga's VIP model has powered, heated rear seats, visors with a mirror, book lamp hanging from the back.
It's sad to see how nicely loaded these vehicles were in different markets...but I understand Nissan's point of view
@@EdBwoy yup distinguished markets man
@@EdBwoy but you won't see q70s driving around like a taxi there. they fulfill different needs here and there
Do you know which package get the black interior lined roof? It looks to me it's just random.
That was for the sport models
Do they make the Q70L with heads up display, the dealer has a Q70L with only 12k miles, but supposed be fully loaded, I'll check it out Saturday 2/17
No heads-up display option for them
I want one, just with a light colored interior
So from this video I identified this as the tech package. I would've liked the extra speakers. But everything else is really for the rear passengers I won't have in the car anyway. The white ash looks good but I'm more of a cherry trim. And it's good I don't have that more expensive headliner because I plan on painting it black. I just feel like that wound insult the quality
Hahaha, "insult the quality" I like the way you put that. But it makes sense. I know people that heavily modify their vehicles like to get more basic trims so they can freely customize without running into many issues with existing packages (for example the audio)...also, they are usually a little cheaper to start with.
I wish they will keep makin them for people like us. Oh yea don't forget about the knee pads by console.
Yes! Good catch. These were nicely done. I love sedans
Hello sir. I know that the Q70L does not have real time navigation. There are after market options that offer android auto/apple carplay. What are your thoughts on adding those features?
I have no issues with the aftermarket options that offer more modern navigation. I believe there is one where you can do phone mirroring, and others that add car play as well as the iphone interface.
Did you have a specific one in mind?
@@EdBwoy I have researched the following: Nifty city, Tech Unavi, & RDVFL. All three keep the OEM within the vehicle.
I have a 2016 Q70. It has factory navigation, but instead I use my iPhone with a MagSafe charging vent mount.
My Q70 driver window auto feature is not working properly
Can you please do a video explaining how to fix this issue please?

Got 3x more buttons at the backseat armrest at my m37x, are you sure its maxed out q70?
For the US, this should be the most we can get. In other markets they could get more features with reclining rear seats and controls for audio and the climate control
@@EdBwoy got it, didnt know
@@FdCrucian yes indeed, the top-trim Cima VIP in Japan is basically the same car as this Q70L, but without the sport package and the V8. We Americans get a “sportier” LWB car inside and out, while the Japanese get a more “executive” one with a statelier front end and a back seat with all the works (reclining, controls, window shades etc). It’s pretty interesting to compare what the same model offers across different markets (at least to a nerd like me).
@@FabienTeulieres93 First of all, let me thank you for taking the time and answering me, really appreciate it.
I got a European 2011 m37x (not the best time to say which country I'm from haha) with a 28k mileage. I have both a curtain and controls in the armrest. Seems to be maxed out for EU
Let me ask you a nerd-to-nerd question, have you ever met any successful examples of turbochargers for Y51? as far as I know, the most optimal solution is to buy a broken gtr, since gearboxes, drive shafts and the rest of the staff assume slight excess of torque
@@FdCrucian Congratulations on your low mileage 2011 M37x, these are great cars. Regarding examples of turbocharged Y51’s, I’ve never come across one done up like that personally, but I’m sure it’s possible to pull it off. Probably easier to accomplish with the 3.7 V6 than with the 5.6 V8 due to engine bay space but I’m not really knowledgeable in the matter. It’s worth mentioning that a lot of Nissan parts seem to bolt on nicely from model to model pretty nicely indeed, so who knows.
I owned 2 Q70s. First from 2015 to 2018 a Q70S and then from 2018 to 2021 a fully loaded Q70L. While, I loved it, but even in 2018 it was quite dated. For me, the engine was fantastic but a little crude compared to the 6 cyl and 8 cyl from the Germans. The interior is beautiful but the Infotainment system was badly lagging the Germans. The exterior styling is simply stunning. My all time favorite INFINITI is the QX70. It was at par with the Cayenne and even better than an X5 in 2013. By 2017, INFINITI had fallen well behind and their new models were all boring…
Mine was Hermosa Blue with Java interior. I had every single package as well…
That is unfortunately a sentiment that many people share about their flagships. I usually thought that if Infiniti were to step down into the forums and group discussions they would have gotten feedback from their clientele and spent a little money on better infotainment systems. The 2019 Q70 got an upgraded screen, but it wasn't exactly mind blowing either.
I used to joke that maybe it's just because we (the 2nd, 3rd, etc) owners are judging these vehicles by modern standards, but seeing comments like yours helps me understand that the people who bought or leased them when brand new also considered these issues much earlier.
@@EdBwoy I think the upgraded screen was on the 2018, at least the one I had in 2018 was better than the one in 2015. But like you said, it was well behind the 5 series at the time. I almost bought the 5 series but went with Infiniti Q70L because of the space, exterior design and the engine was better than the base 4 cyl on the 530i at that price point. But by 2021, I had switched to a BMW X5 50i. Infiniti by then had nothing! So sad to see a potential contender just fall apart like that…
Great video and car but your missing the Forrest air option.
Thank you.
Regarding the forest air option, it was no longer being offered for this model year in our market
I have a 2017s how much different is the 5.6 compared to the 3.7?
Loads of gas milage, 90 HP, and 160FPT!
You have to test drive both to see for yourself. If you don't feel any difference, then it's best to just buy the cheaper one. Lol
I've noticed my doors don't close. And the one button is gone on the side but I have it on the steering wheel.
The button thing was a 2018+ change
Are you saying the rear doors don't have that soft close assist?
Does this have the Infiniti sport muffler as an option too?
No, this did not come with the sport mufflers. I know it was a dealer item, but I can't recall if any buyers were able to get their Q70s delivered with it already installed.
Crazy how it's not a color display in-between the Gages
Right! But remember, we are judging a pre-2011 design with 2022 eyes.
The decision on the interior had already been made years ago, and since the Y51 ran for such a long time, the interior was both futuristic and also ancient. Lol
Didn't check the 8 cylinder box 5.6..
Do you have a extra m56 or q70 rim for sale the 20”
Sorry, I don't have any at the moment
I’ve always like the design of this car but I’ve never driven one. It’s disappointing that Infiniti or not many other manufacturers carry cars of this size anymore that are everyday affordable. My wife doesn’t want an SUV anymore so we are currently checking out the Genesis G80 now that there isn’t much to choose from.
Currently debating between this and a 18 G80 lol
In all honesty, the G80 is probably more "modern" due to being a newer platform with newer tech.
Have either of you been able to find good Q70/Q70Ls to test drive and compare to the Genesis?
Almost bought a 2016 3.7l Q70 and didn’t. Still kicking myself
The redesigned hyundai Genesis was the better deal back then with more standard features panoramic sunroof ventilated seats and better warranty.
And the engine work at about 80-120k lol. Make sure keep that warranty real close and do some research on the VQ engine
Yeah, they were doing what Infiniti and Lexus did when they were challenging the established luxury brands.
I think it was a good comparable option, with a lot of toys for the money, but it definitely depends on what the buyer wants.
For you that don’t know the q70 is the luxury version of the Nissan Maxima. Both great cars and great designs.

Love this car, but that particular color does NOOTHIING for it.
IMO, the rear spoiler on Q70's cheapen the look. Anything above a midsize should not even have a spoiler.
Interesting. For me, I feel like most cars look a little naked without the spoiler. Even if it's just a lip.
They would have to be OEM though, most aftermarket spoilers throw the balance off.
The best Infiniti you can get from 2015 is a fully loaded QX80. So that’s crazy talk but nice car.
Um.. he said "aside from the SUV."
Salim, thanks. It's a nice car, but as Kurt pointed out, I did single out the SUV.
For people that want space, but don't like SUVs, this was it when it came to Infiniti in 2015 model year.
Looks like a overdone box , a beefed up Armada. They should have called it the Infiniti Armando lol. Anyways no where close to the classy saloon style and luxury of the Q70 Luxe.
I guess they was going for a Lexus look
I don't see it. What part of the car reminds you of Lexus?
M56 rear lights are better imho.
I respect the sentiment. Although I must say, even if the older ones look better by themselves, these flow better with the more modern LED lighting scheme around the car.
@@EdBwoy absolutely agree. Just the aesthetics of the M56 is lovely. The updated Q70 lights are of course more functional.
these cars are so rare, but not really sought after. I think it's just because of the laughable MSRP. nobody was going to drop 70k on this when you can get an e-class AMG for about the same price.
Only bad thing is the call only Bluetooth
For the premium models and above, they have Bluetooth for streaming music as well.
