On this day in 1959 {February 17th} Chuck Berry recorded "Almost Grown" in Chicago... One month later on March 30th it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; eventually it peaked at #32 and spent 13 weeks on the Top 100... It reached #3 on Billboard's R&B Singles chart... Back-up singers on the record included Etta James and the New Moonglows {one of the New Moonglows was Marvin Gay before he added the letter 'e'}... The B-side, "Little Queenie", also charted, it reached #80 on the Top 100
