I remember while I was in The Parish, we heard a witch somewhere, but we sorta forgot about it for a while. Then we turned a corner in a building and saw one of the walking witches like six feet away from us, and 0:04 played as we were like "OH MY GOD, OH MY GOD, GET BACK!" I don't know exactly what magic goes on behind the scenes with the music controller, but right then it was absolutely spot on and matched the scene perfectly.

That is why she's crying. I done some research, and it says the witch cries because she Doesnt want to be Infected. And thats why if you go near her; she gasps and gets startled. Then her infected side attacks you. But if you kill her. You "save" her from her infected soul.

i remember the first time i saw the witch on l4d2, i was on the dead center, part 2, and when i went in the first door, she pops up out of nowhere and kills me, scared the living shit out of me, oh and i had only started and didnt realize the crowning effect, so yea, its happened again on an online game, and noone saved me, they only watch'd and laughed while i tried shooting it to death with a pistol, i actually did with like 50 health left, and they were still right there watching me die.

When was that exactly? You can cr0wn her since the First game, there's even an archievement with the same name in both games. Sure a newbie would ignore her but Once he watches a video on UA-cam and finds out you can cr0wn her then there's no real danger involved, unless Its realism mode where the Witch cant be cr0wned. And even If you dont know How to cr0wn her sucessfully, there were still other tactics like molotov + sniper rifle headshots.
"When the Witch was scary and blah blah" was probably during the First month of the release of the First game, so I really dont get what you mean with the "vs today" comparison, I highly doubt you even played during 2008 or 2009 tbh lol.
I find some dark humor with the witch. Every time my friend and I play split screen online, I go after a witch and get the group together. Then I take an adrenaline shot and book it right past the group. Over my friends headset I go "NNNNNNNNN-HEYGUYSWATSUP!"

i was once playing L4D2 on some random map i just chose anything i was walking through a park when i heard the witch i just ignored it thinking it was far away boy was i wrong i just walked past a corner and IT FUCKING SCARED THE HELL OUT OF ME and my team mates left me to die :(
