i have both the expride b 7'light and the 7'M+, both are very comfortable to use. i prefer the handle to the poison adrena 7'M. but the adrena i find is a touch more responsive but the feel seems different to me. also the locking but on the adrena sometimes will come loose for me after a long day of use since its on the top. the expride doesn't have that problem. the adrena construction feels more strength to me overall and the exprides comes very close.
Impressive comment. I am going to think about what you mentioned as I am preparing for my on the water review. I have already finished about 4 hours with the Expride and I already understand why so many people enjoy this rod. Thank you for watching the video. 👏🏿👏🏿🎣
What size Vanford are you putting on that? I've been looking at Exprides and the Zodias. I wanted to but a 7' med light rod, and put a Vanford on it, mainly for LMB, SMB and trout, can't decide which Vanford, 2000, 2500, 3000 - I''ve been leaning towards the 2500, usually use 10lb Power Pro. Love you vids, good luck with the move.
Since this rod is a medium heavy, I’m pairing it with a 3000 Vanford. If this were a medium light, I would have paired it with a 2500 Vanford. Thank you for such kind words regarding our move. 👏🏿👏🏿🎣
Thanks for the first impressions on the rod. I'd really like to know about the tip. I purchased an SLX MH casting rod and it was a broomstick. The tip was too stiff. That turned me off from Shimano rods. Would you say it has a stiffer tip? By the way, you put 24 hours with a Cashion rod in the beginning of the video
Thank you for catching that error in the intro card of the video. I’ll try to edit it out later today. I will follow up by video with the tip, but it is a lot softer than the SLX. I have mentioned in a previous video that high end Rod manufactures try to create budget friendly rods don’t transfer the technology down as well as they should. Although I hear that the SLX line rods are pretty good, they are a bit heavier and more stiff. 👏🏿👏🏿🎣
Just a tip, don't base your brand impressions off of the lower end offerings. The sub $100 rods are generally for the your big box stores, the sub $150 rods are for your sporting goods stores like Scheel's/Dicks. Shimano starts to shine when you get to the Zodias line and above.
Zodias has a different type of Carbon. For me I feel the expride and Poison are more like faster tapers but the zodias i like more for more finessy things. But thats just my opinion. Havent fished all rods. Poison 276m2 and zodias 270m2 and expride the ML 7” something..
Once again great points. I didn’t know that the carbon was different however like you I agree that the Zodias is more of a finesse rod then either the Expride or the Adrena. 👏🏿👏🏿🎣
Been watching your videos for about a week. Really enjoy them. I am looking to build a couple of combos. I wanting something like the st croix bass x 6’10” Medium light with a diawa bg for rigs. And a 13 fishing Defy black or a dobyns colt for crank baits. And suggestions.
First, thank you for taking the time to watch the content. I’m so glad to know that you find them enjoyable. For both rigs and crank baits, the Daiwa BG is a great reel for your combos. The Saint Croix Bass X is A great rod for rigs. However I would step up from the Defy Black and the Dobyns Colt up to the Omen Black 3. Also the Abu Garcia Revo X is a great competitor to the Daiwa BG AND you can catch it on sale (like right now at Dick’s Sporting Goods) more often than the Daiwa BG. I hope this helps for both Budget and quality 👏🏿👏🏿🎣
@@familybudgetfisherman awesome thanks man, yes really love the channel this is the first channel that is geared to the type of fishing we have to do here in West Virginia ie Crappie, bass, bluegill/panfish, and catfish. I have been slowly watching my way through the channel. You have got me rethinking a lot of the gear I was looking at suck as the Defy black and colt for crank in favor of something like ugly stick elite or the omen black 3. thanks so much is there anything I can do to help the channel
Thanks for the question. For the models I have, the Adrena is the most sensitive and the Lightest. For Sensitivity it is Adrena, Zodias, Expride. For Lightness is it Adrena, Expride, Zodias. The Expride is about point two (.2) ounces heavier than the Adrena. The Zodias is point four (.4) ounces heavier than the Adrena. 👏🏿👏🏿🎣
hi mate. I like to play finesse fishing. use bfs reel and light tackle with light bait 6gram less. play in the rocky sea. zodias expride and adrena all these types have modal bfs. can you recommend it in terms of comfort and strength. price is not a problem. 🙏
You are welcome and thank you for the question. That first guide (the stripper guide) is in the same place on both the Zodias and the Expride rods. 👏🏿👏🏿🎣
Nicely done first impression! I have the 7’2 ML I put a really light reel on it and it balances and cast effortlessly. The Expride line up is one of Shimano Bass line rods so a vanford for lightness or if you have a Stradic FL to see if it balances might be the way to go for the heavy lures and all around toughness of the Stradic FL. If it doesn’t through the balance and feel of the rod off but that very’s between people. If you have a chance check out i_fish he did a review with my rod! Thanks and hope family you and move are Doing great!
Thank you very much for such kind remarks. I watched that video about a week ago, just after I ordered my rod. His review was very thorough and captivating. Since posting this “first impression “ video, I have already fished with the Expride for 4 hours and my experience is substantially similar to the review of i_Fish. That was very gracious of you to let him use your rod. It is truly a beautiful piece of equipment. Stay tuned for my 24 hour on the water review. 👏🏿👏🏿🎣
@@familybudgetfisherman yes, i_fish always as your channel has honest and valuable reviews. I’ve only been out twice with it hopefully tomorrow. And yep your channel are fun to watch!
@@davidrauschenbach6871 thanks for sending the rod to i_fish. I love to hear what he has to say about a piece of equipment. That was very cool of you to do!
@@cincinnatiking8008 I put a Shimano 2019 Vanquish M3000, so yep I like it. Smallies in the river and large’s at Glacier lakes spillway. Definitely stiffer then the expride 6’10 ML I’d say same as the old expride ML+! But with a much softer handle and a hook keeper on the rear handle instead of the slots under the reel seat
It’s nice to see a properly packaged rod. Nice breakdown and comparison to the P.A. Fine job explaining. Thank you for posting the video.
Thank you very much! Also, you are welcome, lol. 👏🏿👏🏿🎣

FYI: The Poison Adrena has got the FULL Carbon Monocoque handle- whereas both Zodias and Expride have the (regular) monocoque handle.
