  • Jin approaches Lady Masako arguing with a monk named Junshin. Masako is tracking down Kajiwara, a former servant of Clan Adachi, for recruiting the men who killed her family. Junshin is aware of Kajiwara's location but is protecting him from Masako for fear for his life. Junshin says Masako is blinded by rage, and Kajiwara is a humble fisherman who would never act against Clan Adachi. Jin convinces Junshin he just needs to talk to Kajiwara, so Junshin gives up his location.
    Jin follows Masako on the road to Kajiwara's hut on the beach. During the journey, Masako explains Kajiwara beat his family while in service to her, and so she immediately dismissed him. When they arrive, the Mongols have already found the fishing hut. Jin and Lady Masako kill the Mongols, then investigate the house. They find Kajiwara is wealthier than he should be, and also evidence Kajiwara murdered his wife and daughter. They track footprints to Kajiwara, and he admits to the conspiracy. Lady Masako executes Kajiwara, but she and Jin still don't know who the conspirator was apart from pointing out each person involved was bonded by their hatred of Clan Adachi.
    Jin meets Masako and Junshin at Koshimizu Farmstead where Jin tells Junshin about what happed with Kajiwara and meets with Masako who has a lead on the next conspirator a woman named Mai who Masako considered to be a dear friend and discover with straw hat ronin who intend to collect the personal effects of Clan Adachi, after dispatching the straw hats it turns out Mai and Masako used to be together who admitted she felt betrayed by Masako for leaving her and heard she survived and wanted to give the heirlooms back, Masako allows Mai to leave while she speaks with Jin.
    Jin catches Masako threatening a bunch of peasants who reveal Junshin was captured by Mongols, Masako claims Junshin had contact with the person who killed Masako's family with a letter to back it up but Jin tells Masako she will not lay a finger on Junshin until they know he's guilty and eventually rescue him only for Masako to turn around and try to kill Junshin forcing Jin to duel her and upon defeating her and more Mongols, Jin berates Masako for pulling that stunt and warns her never to try to kill him again before speaking to Junshin who reveals the person who killed Masako's family was Lady Hana, Masako's sister who was thought to have been killed along with her family and despite being shocked by the news she intends to find her with Jin's help.
    Jin and Yuna must find a way inside Yarikawa Stronghold in an attempt to convince the remaining members of Clan Yarikawa to help join the fight against the Mongol Empire and recapture Castle Shimura. Not only do the people of Yarikawa harbor extreme resentment towards Lord Shimura, but the Mongols have made a huge camp outside the stronghold, making it very difficult for anyone to get inside. Having grown up in Yarikawa, Yuna and Taka know of a secret entrance underneath the waterfall, but they're not sure if it is still accessible regardless they amke their way to Yarikawa and along the way Jin mentions Otsuna to Taka's surprise before reaching the town and inspecting the Mongol camp and sneak through the Mongols.
    Jin, Yuna and Taka sneak into the town where Taka introduces Jin as the Ghost and they meet the Mongol Warlord Temuge who gives Yarikawa the chance to surrender or die before meeting Ujimassa and despite the tension between him and Jin they learn about a group of Yarikawa archers who have gone to fight the Mongols and decide to look for them to prove their worth to Yarikawa.
