Bless you momma for taking the babies to an antique store!
I enjoy your channel SO much!! It is wonderful that you are keeping the integrity of your old home instead of decorating it with new stuff. I look forward to everything you post!!
Here's a cool idea for old linens: I have an old piece of linen...maybe it was supposed to be a small tablecloth, but around 50 years ago, my grandmother started to ask everyone in our family to sign it in pen and she embroidered their signatures. Most of those people have passed on. I now have it and I had my kids sign and I continue to embroider their names. It's so unique and meaningful.
Wow! I like that! How Special!
You're kids are ADORABLE !!! What a bunch of awesome finds !!! ♥️
Your kids are adorable and so well behaved, they really make me smile!
Love all of it, Lisa! What a fun trip with the family. I'm on the edge of my seat. Can't wait to see the mudroom and bedroom makeover!
And....YOU BROUGHT YOUR PUPPY HOME!!! Too cute!
Thanks for following along!
Your children are precious I love the little faces and the Little Voices. Mommy you can make it. He's so cute
So excited to see your progress at the farmhouse. I love everything you bought especially the gorgeous chandelier and your children are so precious. I can't wait to see more videos around the farm.
Can't wait to see the bedroom!!! Thanks for taking us antique shopping. Awesome deals!! Love the light. 😊
Spent the majority of that video stressed, don't know how you have the courage and calm to take kids into an cluttered antique store. Love all the cabinets.
Loved this video!! You should bring us along for more antique/thrift shopping! I'm so excited to see the progress!
This is so exciting! Can't wait to see the bedroom "reveal"! Oh, heck, I'm anxious to see ALL of it....you've done such a fabulous job already. It's so much fun to see it all coming together. Thanks for taking us on this journey with you.
Thanks for following along!!
Love your chandalier!! Your kids did really well in the antique shops...amazing!!!
I don’t blame you for getting the painting done-if it was a contemporary house with sheetrock, plain walls, etc. it’s not hard to do that yourself, but your house would be a bear to do yourself! I’m so glad you’re going for the wood antiques-they’ll be exquisite with all that white!! The chandelier you bought is so pretty-it looks a lot like the ones that are made in Spain. I have two of those that I’ve carried to every house we’ve lived in! They were my grandparents’. I can’t wait for the reveal of your bedroom!!
What great finds! But girl you are braver than me...I don’t think I would of had the courage to take my kids to an antique store! I kept envisioning broken plates or glass! Lol
You're so right, I was afraid the whole time some thing was going to get broken.
So would I. But I think Lisa's kids
are well behaved. I mean 'They
were not running around like bulls
in a China shop'.
Me too...I got stressed even just watching.🙈😂
Yeah I took my 2 kids to "explore" my first time at an antique shop.....NEVER again!!
I have 5, and no... I never take them shopping. The only time we get away from the kids is work, or the weekly grocery shop. We call it 'date night' lol.
This was such a fun video! I loved how well behaved and involved your kiddos were, too! It was so sweet! I love antique shops and look forward to the day I can do the same with my future kids. And I'm so excited about your new home! It looks like it's coming along beautifully!
I love looking at old wooden furniture. The craftsmanship is always unique and the whole piece is generally real wood instead of more economic options such as particleboard with a veneer.
Loved you taking us on a trip to the Antique store and showing where and how you are decorating your new house with love more videos as you create your place for your FAMILY...Idaho
You Did Awesome In Your Purchases, Kiddo! You Go, Girl! :) Can't Wait To See More ~ Of All Your Renovations!
Hi Lisa! It was fun going with you. Your kids are very well behaved 😊. I love all the goodies you bought, and that chandelier is going to look gorgeous. Can’t wait to see it hung. ♥️👍🏻😉
I can’t say love enough without sounding ridiculous.....BUT I love it all! Great job girlfriend!
YES! Take me to aaaaall the antique shops with you. I love it!
THANK YOU FOR TAKING US ALONG. LOVE YOUR PURCHASES.
Sooo happy for all this thats happening to you and your lovely family
You plant that seed that your son knows “you can make that”. My little one says you can make it mommy you can do anything. Love this
Everything is coming together. I think you’re making wonderful choices for your new home✨
You are one brave Mama; going into an antique store with little kids. Yikes. Love the items you purchased.
This was so much fun! I have a beautiful armoire similar to those you were looking at in the antique store. I had no idea its value!! Same goes for my spool bed. I have a full set of Blue Nordic too. Love it so much. It seems we like the same kinds of things. When I saw your kids in the antique store I immediately thought how the owner must be chewing her nails and then I remembered what happened when I took my child with me to the jewelry store when I got my ears pierced. While I was being poked, she decided to try out the sterling baby teething rings to see if they were like the one someone had given her. I went home with four of them dented by her 4-year-old teeth!
Great finds! Can’t wait for you bedroom & mudroom reveal! I always need ideas! ❤️
Lol. @6:46 you said “I love that bed.” And your son said “well where would you put it, you already have a bed?” 😂 that was hilariously funny. Kid has a sense of humor or is very sarcastic and smart. Your reply though was like, well mommy likes it and will get it regardless of what you think. Love watching your videos. Your new home is going to look just as beautiful as your last.
Your children are so precious 💕💕
Brave girl going shopping with the kids in towe. Girl, with your nak for DIY projects you could make your own quilt. You are a good shopper but I literally get weak in the knees when I enter an antique shop. I end up loving everything and going home with way more than I should. But it all brings me joy every single day of my life. Crystal knobs can always be used somewhere. you can even use them to hang up your coats. Put them on a strip of 4X4 add the knobs and hang your hats and coats. Aren't you glad I am not with you. So easy spending someone else's money. LOL What a find for $48.00. Wow. and I almost fell to the floor when I saw the chandelier you bought. (those darn weak knees). I lived vicariously with you today. Thank you for those moments of joy. Look forward to seeing all that you can share.
That's a great idea! Yes... it's very easy to get lost in an antique store! Ideas for everything!!
I was thinking the same thing about the kids in tow at the antique store Rhonda, Eeek! They were very well behaved though 👏!!
Yes, they were. Kudos to mom. @@loribirchard9102
Can’t wait to see it! So glad you’ll have it done for you. Sometimes it’s DEFINITELY worth the cost. We bought a major fixer upper and I WISH (over 6 years here now and still working on basics) that we had forked over some of the up fronts....
Also- some friendly advice to anybody looking to buy their first home, don’t get a nice realtor! You want someone who is kind but firm. Who is willing to tell you when you’re making a bad choice, and fight for your rights. This was our first time buying home, and our realtor was way too nice, and we got steamrolled. 🤦🏼♀️
Oh well. Live and learn!
The chandelier is beautiful!!
I really enjoyed the video. Your kids are darling!! Anxious to see more of your finds.
OH how I love your video
Thanks for watching!!
Thanks for taking us antique-ing with you, that was fun!! 😄💕
With a home with no closets....would old armoires works for closets (like in the old days.) You are a very brave women to take that many children to an antique shop!!
I used to have an antique store. It’s hard to stay in business when folks want 100+ year old porcelain dishes for $2
oh please it’s just material things.
As with any business, you have to be competitive with your prices in order to succeed. So, if she's finding plates for $2 each at other shops in the area, then she's not unreasonable to only want to pay $2 each. And, if your prices are higher, then yes, you're going to have to shut down if you can't compete with the other stores in the area. It's not her fault that's the price they are going for elsewhere. I highly doubt you shop around and then buy the same item for twice the price (or more) just to support the shop owners, so it's not fair to expect her to do that to support your higher price.
@Coco Squirrel Fortunately a person can pick them up for 50 cents apiece at thrift stores.
I love it! I haven't been antiquing for so long!
That antique store had some pricey items, but I'm glad you found that chandelier!!! 😍😍😍 Can't wait to see the bedroom reveal, and good luck getting those giant armoires upstairs! 😧
I'm so excited for the chandelier!! I guess you never know what you might find!!
Beautiful family....your kids are all so cute!
The look on your little boys face when he was asking for the toy was just the cutest ever. Loved seeing the antique store. When my parents bought their house 50 years ago it came furnished with antiques. My mum still has nearly all of the furniture. Mum is 84 and she also has her great grandmother's table and 6 chairs which were shipped over from England. That shop was certainly expensive. I won a wrought iron tester bed for my daughter on ebay a few years back for $12 nobody else even bid on it. Really enjoying all your videos. xx
Marcia Bruderlin ikr? I couldn’t stand it he was so cute. 😊
Thanks!! Antique furniture is the best! That's great that they kept it all those years!!
@@Jo-ww5ei Yeah when he was nodding his head yes then he realized his mum was saying no and started shaking his head no. I think I would be in big trouble if I was shopping with him as he's so cute I would find it hard saying he couldn't get it! What well behaved children though to be able to take them shopping in antique stores. xx
I wanted to buy the little boy the little I think it was a model airplane I wanted to buy it for him so much! I agree with you the look on his face was precious!
Yep, there is a always a bargain somewhere if you wait for it!! good job.
I love how your kids have complete faith in your abilities to make just about anything.
On a side note, You’re my new hero for bringing 4 kids to an antique shop. 😇
We have the same chandelier above our piano, I love it!
Ross from friends quote while moving the armoire - Pivot, Pivot, PIVOT!” 😆
I don't know you, but I love you for this reference. Cheers, Ardith
I can picture and hear Ross saying that!
In our house it would be Chandler replying "Shut up, Shut up, Shut upppppp!" ;);)
One of my favorite Ross lines ever!
Have you seen the spoof video where they all have huge mouths? It was created using snapchat 😂😂😂
Lisa ... I love Homer Laughlin, too. I have quite a few pieces ~ mostly platters from a very, very small one up to a few good sized ones !! I always look for Homer Laughlin when I am out & about.
That was fun!
I love how you’re basically teaching your kids how to shop as you go. You picked some great things!
Well, first I must say your children are darling and so well behaved. Second, your style and coordination of antiques is amazing. And lastly, I really admire your patience in searching out pieces and not caving in if you feel you can get a sturdier piece for less. Amazing!
Doors not staying closed is the easiest fix . Magnets:))
Jack!!!! What a doll he is!!!
Love the chandelier!!! Have always wanted one in my bedroom and one over the bathtub :))
So looking forward to the reveal!!!
Can't wait to see what you do with all of your purchases. Your home is just so beautiful already but I'm sure it will look stunning.
Moving furniture is a pain, so I can understand your husband not being too excited about it. I'm usually used to IKEA furniture, which is very light and easy to move and also comes apart. But I recently helped my mother in law move her furniture and I felt like I was going to die, massive solid wood furniture is beautiful but so incredibly heavy. Don't think I'll be buying any of my own after that.
I loved this video! You have such great style. Inspiring me big time.❤️
It’s coming together! For the wooden drawers of the dressers or also clothing rods of wood I rub plain white wax on the base of the drawer and where it slides inside the dresser (a small white cheapy white votive will do the trick if you don’t have a bar of canning wax around): It makes them open so much easier.
Wow!! Thanks for the tip!
Beeswax works better for sticky drawers, windows, doors! 3-in-1 oil helps also with sqeaky hinges, latches that are hard to work....add thise items to your homebody kit!
As someone who has owned quite a few antique armoires, a lot of them could 'break-down' so they can be moved! Telltale signs of this are a top that lifts off, and a bottom shelf that pops up! It's been said that these old pieces are the forefathers of our current RTA furniture that you find everywhere! My current armoire is pine...was unfinished and also a knockdown RTA that I bought for 100 about 20 years ago...It came with a clothes rod but I was using it for an entertainment center. See if you can find an unfinished furniture store and see what they may haved
My mother told me to use a white bar of soap to make drawers slide. And if the soap has scent, it makes the drawers smell good.
I want to buy the model airplane for the little one, I want him to have that model airplane. I just wish I could put money through the screen and buy that for that little one so so much! And, I want to buy Lisa the blue flow plate, and I want to buy whatever the other little ones each want These are the cutest children in the world! That said, I can barely breathe with five little ones in an antique shop!Love,Love,Love, this was a blast. Please film every time you go antiquing. Love, Konstance
I'm so excited for you! Can't wait to see your next video!💗
Thanks!
Love your vision. I’m so happy for you 💟
Oh my goodness that place was amazing! I love to antique shop.
Oh I was so excited to see your adventourist trip to the Antique Store!💕💕💕 Its so fun to browse, isnt it? Those prices were expensive though. I thought Canada had high prices.!!! So glad you found some great treasures for your home!! That chandelier is STUNNING!!! 💕💕💕💕. Looking forward to your reveal of your bedroom! All the best with that spiral staircase!
Thanks!!
I really love the blue dresser in your room. Such a pretty color. Thanks for letting us tag along. Antique shops are so much fun, always a treasure to be found.
Lovely. So cool to see young people appreciate antiques/old houses. I think every child should grow up on a farm. Lots of memories will be made there.
Farm memories are great ones!
I remember back a few years ago when my sister in law tried to get a queen bed up stairs, they had to take the stair case out and several people helped lift it through the opening. Then they put the stairs back. I always love your videos. I am having so much fun watching you decorate.
Oh boy, we have our work cut out!
Everything is so pretty!
I love antiquing! You've inspired me to go to a few places I haven't ventured into yet ❤️ Also, your kids are adorbs!
Thanks! Happy shopping!!
Aw you can make one so cute!
I use an antique wardrobe for games, photo albums, etc, we call it Narnia.
So happy to see a mom take her children in a store like this. I always do because they're always with me or else is never get in to shop. But sometimes people can give us annoyed looks just if they hear kids talking in the store like they're certain the children will destroy something or that they don't belong in a store like that. It's very upsetting. People tend to think everyone can get a babysitter to go shopping like this or that we should just stay home all the time... 😒
Stoves! I'm sure these vintage stoves last linger than these new modern ones. I been through two stoves in the last 19 years. My next one is going to be more vintage and I want two ovens in it.
I would have chandeliers in every room if we didn’t HAVE to have ceiling fans! 🌵🌞 so jealous. Great haul!
Love this! Thanks for the great content.
Sooo exciting!!! Can't wait to see everything!! I love antique porcelain and the chandellier!!
I love the chandelier!! Beautiful!! White pitchers and metal pitchers and wooden spoons. The best. I can’t wait to see the house! 🤗
That chandelier is beautiful! - Your Children are so well behaved, a blessing, especially when you take them to an Antique Shop.
The kid commentary throughout the shopping trip...love it! Great finds!
This house is going to be so gorgeous! You are such a good mom to include your kids in shopping :)
What about putting those knobs on your blue dresser behind you?... It will match the chandelier!
Ohhh that's a good thought!
Great haul, can't wait to see your home coming all together 🙏🏻🤗💕
I just bought a package of 4 wheels with stems for about $4.99 at Lowe's. They are plastic not wood. I bought 2 oak nightstands for $10 each at the Goodwill and one had wheels the other one had no wheels. So happy to find a cheap solution.
"And the thing that I want for my birthday is...!!!" So darling! Love following along on your new journey! Blessings!
You found a fantastic place for shopping, I’m jealous! Nice cupboards and hutches for sure
Love it all..some really gorgeous furniture ..just love the unit for the kids room ...good solid furniture to last forever...And the chandelier is beautiful I can't wait to see the end result x
Please, please, please do another one of these videos soon! I adored this!! I've gotta find some local antique shops out my way.
Gotta love good finds on buy sell trade sites. I got two Jenny Lind bed frames for 40 bucks a piece. I’m surprised you don’t have any of those. But the iron frames are just as cute.
Love this video. I hauled around a 1920ish light fixture that is a little more fancy then the one you have. Seriously, I spent around $20 for it over 25 years ago and never used it until I purchased my current house nine years ago. I cleaned it, had it rewired as it had the original wiring and that scared me and purchased replacement crystals for the ones that were missing. Probably spent a total of $30 on all of that. Finally, after all those years of hauling around and sitting in a box it graces my dining room and I love it. It is unique and no one has one like it.
Wow! I bet it is beautiful!!
@@FarmhouseonBoone if I could figure out how to attach a photo I would
Alsi, when antiquing throw a large cookie sheet and a roasting pan in the car in case you find a stove. That way you can make sure you favorite pieces will fit in it.
Oooohhhh!! What a wonderful trip, thank you for taking us along! Oh my gosh that chandelier is soooo perfect! Your children were so precious shopping with you. Such a delight to see progress. I love this so much!
There is a vintage Vogue nursery pattern 1514. There is the primary color boys choice and the pink girls nursery. The pink choice has crossed curtains that might be an idea for your master bedroom. I was also thinking maybe a seasonal flannel lined slipcover for your brass headboard for the colder months if it's on an outside wall. My husband suggested insulated covers that go behind your outlets if they are on an outside wall to curtail some drafting if you have it. I love the browns, blues and whites combination.
So many good ideas...Thanks!!
Lordy that blonde one with the buffalo plaid sweater is adorable! They all are but you can just tell he's something else. 😊 blessings
My parents have that identical chandelier in their dinning area, my mother always told me the glass looking part was actually crystal. 😍
That's awesome!
These videos on your new farmhouse have been so fun to watch! Im so excited to see how you make it all your own!
His little face at 2:34! 😊 Too cute! 🙈💕💕💕
Wow Lisa. So excited for you. Love it. Love antiques and your taste is exquisite. Your house will be a show place. Can't wait.
Magical chandelier! Homer L. Is always beautiful and delicate. Was my Mother's favorite, so my heart skipped a beat when you saw that platter.
Looked like a fun day antique shopping and you found some lovely treasures! The chandelier is gorgeous and perfect for your bedroom. Can’t wait to see the next video!
Beautiful finds!
Love the chandelier. Coming along beautifully, so exciting to watch the progress !!!
Oh, Lisa, your kiddos are precious. And they had me laughing...this was a joy to watch 😊.
Your kids are gorgeous xx
I love that your daughter is helping filming you ❤️❤️❤️
