I always wonderes who was the girl in the background because she had a small role in the series and I think also in the movie but I couldn't find her name. Also there were two amazing singers in the movie, one of them Eric I believe, but nothing else could be found about them
Sadly many of them had some "Hard" times after "Fame". I'm sure for many of them to live down the Show/Movie must have been very hard at times. RIP Gene Anthony Ray (Leroy). Also I sometimes Wonder if David Foster was like Bruno Martelli a Grade A Perfectionist when it came to The Music.
@CBoapinta No one can deny that Erica Gimpel was talented, but no one could sing that song like Irene. I give credit where it's due. Erica was great, but Irene was a gem.
@@ropongi1008Erica is absolutely glorious. The producers actually did ask Irene if she would reprise the role for the TV series, but she politely turned them down since she wanted to focus on her emerging music career. Which is honestly kind of a shame because the music industry robbed her blind in terms of royalties.
Forgotten how bad this was when compared to Irene Cara’s version. It really shouldn’t have been used when you hear it back today, flat in parts, missed notes and generally a weak voice.
I remember watching Fame on TV in the 1980s when I was much younger and singing along (badly!) to this, but I always thought Irene Cara sang the TV theme. Maybe she should have done...I'm sorry, but this a pretty weak version. Irene all the way. #TeamIrene
una de las mejores series juveniles
Recuerdo esa serie con tanto cariño!!!❤ ahora tengo 42 años..
I screamed when Miss Debbie Allen started with the kicks!
Good times.
The original version of this song was by Irene Cara.

Bronwyn Thomas?
The definitive version of the theme song!

No disrespect to Erica Gimpel, I know she was only doing her job, but not many people come close to Irene Cara's level of talent. RIP Irene Cara
Irene Cara was amazing. And so is Erica Gimpel.

yer right!!
this show had such an energy and was super diverse without a hint of the woke disease.
I always thought Irene Cara sang the theme to the TV series but she has a decent voice
Irene Cara sang the theme to the film. The song was re-recorded with Erica Gimpel for the television series when Erica was cast as Coco.
@@EastSide-qc5oy ok thanks for the info
