Why are we just now hearing about this? There have been far too many “remain silent” incidents lately when it comes to aviation. We place our trust in far too many people who do not care about our lives.
Three days ago I was helping my sister with her flight purchase and I avoided paying $199 for Southwest and paid over $700 for United because they have airbus.
And I read, maybe 2 to 4 months back, that the FAA is seeking to hire mentally disabled people. No joke. That is not good. God bless those diagnosed with some behavioral illness, but I think it is mostly the drugs the quacks put people on that make mental illness a real thing. That and very bad life choices.
Yea I do!!! That’s why I stopped flying on “ Public commercial Planes” I’ll only fly on private Charter jets now !! I get to know my pilots health status and planes maintenance history when I book a flight now! And a lot of the pilots that I talk to on my Charter flights say the same thing… they Quit flying for the Big Name guys when it came to the Jab 💉🚫✈️💯👍🏼
What color do you think this person is? Because most DEI hires are white. I bet you didn’t know that. Also if you’re thinking, the person was black keep in mind that Black people seem to have to perform twice as better than the standard in order to get the job depending on the white person that’s doing the hiring. I don’t think it was that, that was a foolish thing to say. I think it could’ve been m cast
Any DEI hired to be a commercial pilot with below average skills has no integrity only selfish entitlement if I was hired because of favoritism I couldn't allow myself to accept it too much personal responsibility at risk for everyone!
A commercial flight and we are just hearing about it now after several months? Why bother to report it now? This should have been in the news when it first happened!!
The details WFAA left out. Bloomberg reported the memo indicated a “newer” first officer was flying at the time and inadvertently pushed forward on the control column. Flight tracking data from ADS-B Exchange shows the plane dropping at a rate of more than 4,000 feet per minute while only 600 feet above sea level. The Boeing 737 Max 8 flew as low as 400 feet before rapidly climbing
This isn't a news story. Weather was bad, the pilots were trying to get below the cloud cover to see the runway. This was a controlled decent and not at all unusual when flying onto the islands. I was on a 757 a few years back where the pilots came over the radio and told us that the big island was socked in with clouds and we were going to need to go in low and not to be alarmed. I looked at the flight data and were were at 700 ft for the last 8 mins of the flight over the ocean. Nothing unusual here. Move on F.F.S.!
THIS is exactly why I cancelled my flight to Hawaii in mid April for my birthday. Can't take chances over the ocean like that. Now I'm glad I didn't go.

SWA has publicly said DEI aka in jobs with life and death actions DIE diversity, inclusion, equity is the policy. First time in SWA 50+ year history a non pilot is in charge of hiring pilots. She may be responsible for the minimum 1000 hour jet experience reduced to only 500 hours.
Article is total and complete B.S. The pilot was circling in bad weather and had to drop to the required 400 ft. level to establish visual contact with the ground. When unable to see the ground (or in this case they were over the ocean) they immediately accelerated and climbed back up to their assigned altitude and returned to their departure airport. Totally routine.
There are periods in the life of humanity, which generally coincide with the beginning of the fall of cultures and civilizations, when the masses irretrievably lose their reason and begin to destroy everything that has been created by centuries and millennia of culture. Such periods of mass madness, often coinciding with geological cataclysms, climate changes, and similar phenomena of a planetary character, release a very great quantity of the matter of knowledge. - George Ivanovich Gurdjief
What really happened is they made a missed approach because weather was below ILS minima. 400ft? At every coastal airport in the world every plane on every approach flies this low and lower - on their way to 0 ft. If there was a reportable incident at all here, it could be the FO, hand flying, allowed the aircraft to dip below the glideslope at some point and the Captain corrected. The "sharp climb" people report is actually just the missed approach, which is a standard maneuver. It can feel abrupt to people who know nothing about aviation - which is a requirement for being a journalist.
New pilot. Lower standards. Were heading for a disaster and then some. Very soon.

DEI hiring and they don't want people understanding just how loosening the hiring standards has made everything more unsafe
I hope you know that there is a pilot shortage so you should be grateful they hired that person. It’s either that person or you won’t travel anywhere.

Smart move….never before have I been so closely looking at the aircraft I’ll be booking when using my Delta App to schedule flights.
Look for more of this insanity as airlines loosen their hiring standards. Same with controllers and ground personnel.
DEI means people will DIE
How do you know what their hiring standards are? Were you turned down?
United Airlines has stated they will now have 30 - 40% DEI hiring practices for pilots, so be prepared for more of this.
Putting them into entertainment is one thing but makeing them responsible for peoples lives is terrorism
Pilot error is way more common in countries without DEI.
And that quite simply is why I’m never flying United Airlines again despite 40 years of they being my first choice for domestic.
@@gamesguy I don't believe it for first world countries. Now if you're talking about third world you may have a point.
