- “ We love Disco Elysium and Sea Power, and we poured all that love into this project. We hope you enjoy.”-The Artists. Images inspired by the game created by a wonderful group of artists set to the vocal version of Whirling In Rags ( Fire Escape In The Sea ) from the album Everything Was Forever. A big thank you to everyone involved. Incredible talents.

I love Disco Elysium, I wish alcoholism was real
unfortunately it is
No you don't.
@@engliships2126 maybe he doesnt but i do
Alcoholism is only a problem if you acknowledge it. That's how it works, righy?
It’s as real as you can make it baby
Also, this is probably pretentious, but these montages made me realize how many just plain great... *scenes* Disco Elysium had. Not just a great story, or characters, but the kind of scenes and moments that stick with you as that kind of "Hey, remember that time when--" memories. Remember when you first inspected the body? Remember when you sat on that swing with Kim waiting for the tide to recede? Remember the dice maker in the tower? DE doesn't just have great atmosphere, it has great... *moments* .
This feels like one of those internal monologues that would be in harry's head. Thus i shall imagine having this be read in the narrators voice.
Remember when you finally unlocked that dammed blue door?
When you first entered the church?
When you first woke up?
When the world came crashing down into a 2mm hole?
When you turned on Kim’s radio?
When you were first called tequila?
When you first sat in the worlds deadliest chair?
When you connected the dots?
Or when you had your first conversation with a strange woman renting the room 2 doors on your left?
Because I do. And if you experienced them as well: I bet you remember them too.
Fucking hell, what a good game.
It's truly a rare game. There's no filler content. I've never actually experienced this in any game before - this feeling of near-perfect suspension of disbelief.
Remember when you teleported on to a rooftop?
OK cool,
Please tell me how to get down, I'm scared.
The merc tribunal genuinely had me at the edge of my seat. I never expected a story-focused game to be able to grip me in such a way
This made me realise how precious and special human made art is. I feel warm and happy to see the names attached and they motivate me to create something beautiful.
something beautiful is going to happen
and then people say "ai art is also art" :(
@@Service_Spovz its funny. reading the disco elysium artbook and the devs' commentary its so obvious they love art and the entire process. seeing people wave those crucial parts away because "ai art looks nice" makes me feel so sad.
@@InsulindianPhasmid2214 it sure nice but feels so lifeless and empty. AI can never mimic human soul and passion that poured into it however bad it looks.

Knew Sea Power through Disco Elysium, became a fan afterwards.
same
Me too, this band is just something else
As incredible as the writing and art is, DE wouldn’t be half of what it is without the involvement of Sea Power. Both the OST, the inspirations, the cool references to their songs… and general vibe. The game is flooded sprinkled with their influence, and they have a much more important role than just incredible musical artists… They’ve set the tone. As in, the writing is definitely inspired by the vibes of their songs.
Strong disagree, skyrim boy.
@@MojoRisingTV how so, we know DE was MORE than inspired by Sea Power. I am not saying that DE isn’t a masterpiece, quite the opposite - everything in this experience is supporting each other, like an arch. If one thing goes missing, it all falls apart imo. Which is true for almost all masterpieces. I’ve recently played Outer Wilds, another masterpiece imo, and that game, just like DE, wouldn’t have been half of what it was without Andrew Pharlow’s music. Skyrim too btw, by far not a masterpiece but a very nostalgic game for many and ultra successful like it or not, and probably some of the strongest memories attached to that game are it’s music.
You need to evaluate a piece of media from all it’s angles and consider all of it’s pieces. SP didn’t just make the OST for DE, they also set the tone and a lot of the themes. The original creators were fans of their work for a while, and the game is choke full of references and ideas that feel like they are SET inside a Sew Power song.
@@MojoRisingTV for reference, look up Jacob Geller’s video ‘Searching For Disco Elysium’, where he explains some of the inspirations the devs credited, mainly Sea Power and The City And The City.
@@meridiasbeacon7669 The City and the City is such a good book
@@hagonistheman7880 hey internet man
I genuinely don't think I've ever taken a comment less seriously than yours
like, maybe if you included some explanation on why you think Jacob Geller's content is bad or whatever... maybe.
but come here and say "your opinion sucks because you referenced person", get the hell outta here who the hell listens to you. Idiot ass opinion.
Games like this only get made very rarely.
When the music, the art style, the story and the feeling just fuse together and everything is sooo complete...

Disco Elysium felt like a miracle.
A one time wonder and with the current situation maybe we need to make peace with that fact.
Yeah.. but maybe? Someday someone will make something really inspired, not just one of those DE clones that tries to replicate the style, but something new. Something new that couldn’t have existed without DE happening first, but it’ll be completely different and amazing in a unique way.. maybe it already exists and we don’t know about it yet. Who jnows

I listen to Sea Power, like, all the time now. Thanks to Disco Elysium, I discovered them. My most favorite song ever is Remarkable Diving Feat, but whole album it's from is great. I don't know why, really, I just love listening to that song. It's like Waving Flags, but like you are standing on the deck of a flying ship above the clouds and feeling the breeze on your face.
Upd: I've rewatched this video for like 100 times now. I am legit sure a significant % of views comes from me.

God, the pic at 3:15 with Pigs hit me right in the feels
Call your mother.
I love how she was a character you only interacted with for a couple minutes, but they still managed to give her so much personality and make you feel so much for her, and she felt like a real person with an actual backstory (partly because Titus talked about how she was always there for them when they were kids). Love this game.
I teared up when I was done chatting with the jeweler who made dice, and I caught the ones that were meant... For Harry.
It's a strange game.
Players falling into the boots of the detective and straight from the beginning you are facing same questions as the character, with quite convincing reasonings.
It still fits you in there. The fool who really has no idea what to do.
Reels you in with the flashing surroundings and questions.
Disco elysium...
All the points of interests are just sparkles that shine in from the mirror ball. Life is one big disco?
It would be cool to see an animation where each of those artist draw a frame or two in the animation
Before Disco Elysium, I was very cynical about the RPG genre, partly because I had the preconceived notion that games with heavy story couldn't really provide as meaningful gameplay as something more sandbox orientated, where you have more freedom --Yes I play Morrowind how could you tell?--
Then I played Disco Elysium and I realized how wrong I was. This game is Great with a capital G.
Where games like morrowind cast their nets wide, DE casts its net deep.

Beautiful game, beautiful soundtrack, tragically human outcome to its future..
As saddening as the news about ZA/UM is, think of it as a blessing. They can’t ruin the IP With a sup par sequel anymore after kicking out those who made this game so special. Be happy knowing that this game and everything about it has inspired so many creatives, and Disco will live on through what is made going forward.
The image at 3:06 makes me sad. Lely and Klaasje are such tragic characters to me. Two fucked up people in a fucked up world who found solace in each other that they both know they didnt deserve and that could never last

Daaaam', it's touching. I still remember lurking through web to find any fan arts at all and now there's so much quality pieces made with a lot of love for the game
Whenever I hear this - I just fall back into the world of Revachol. I need to go and play it again.
I love that the artists names are actually on their pictures in the video so we can actually know who did what, makes me very happy :) I'm always pleasantly surprised seeing a few familiar names out in the wild as well!

I guess I'll put this here because of the complicated nature of what happened with the game itself. Disco elysium and your music for it made me realize that I am okay being a Bisexual man and that the story of harry finding himself in a confusing world just connected with me on such a deep level. I just finished Disco about three days ago. Such an amazing experience... The music definitely helped set the atmosphere... Very hard core.
i just love Kuno and Kuna. no matter how mad they were, they still melted my heart.

Came here to say the same, what an amazing piece depicting the untold and forgotten stories of the revolution.
Lost a family member shortly after completing the story of this game.
His body betrayed his degeneracy, a bloated slave to the ghoul, with almost no future left.
But despite that he overpowered his demons, reclaimed his dignity, found love and happyness from the brink of oblivion and then dies of a fucking heart attack.
This game, its writing literature, philosophy and experience is genuine and literally the most cathartic experience i'v ever had in my life, and it was accidental.
Rest in Peace Gregory, i guess.... off you go into the wild pale yonder.

Holy smokes, amazing work by the DE community!
Truly! Those are some great arts!
Why this sequel obsession is so tiring. Every other comment is waaah, I want more, I need to experience this for my whole life. You will probably have the means to replay it in 30 years with your grand-kids, but in the meantime go to the myriad other strands of life and fiction, we have games like this, we have books and movies like this, you need to put a little bit of work to find them.
This is a marvelous game, I am so glad it exists ❤❤❤
THIS IS A HARDCORE ART MY DUDES
I find that there isn't that much info about Disco Elysium on the web somehow. So a lot of (especially smaller details) are just left unknown. I'm on my second playthrough and it feels like I'm still getting only a narrow part of everything there is to learn about characters and the world. In the end everyone ends up having their own totally unique experience. Its incredible how you can write something like that

Just finished the game. Didn't expect this to bring me to tears. Just beautiful, seeing people put their love into this project.
I remember watching BSP when they first started touring around the U.K. They always have been and will always remain a top band, i still have all of their T-shirts. sadly the earlier ones won’t fit me. I knew i should’ve bought large tees.
It’s a shame the original makers of the game were fired….it would have been nice to have a sequel we need more games like disco Elysium we need more games that are actually political in general.
Absolutely. While they're very different experiences in terms of actual gameplay, I find that Night in the Woods and Kentucky Route Zero touch on a lot of similar political themes, albeit in more abstract ways than Disco Elysium does.
@@MythicFoxNORCO is similarly good, though a lot more surrealistic. A lot of the dialogue is much like Inland Empire’s.
