When Jeff and Bob say “the industry” at 3:15, I took the to mean that ski manufacturers are going to more sophisticated and energetic designs.

Yes, on the all-mountain / freeride segment it seems to be going to the direction of lighter and more flickable now. As previously it was just about who makes the burliest one.
And the more carving-oriented skis are sub-90 all-mountain skis. Or wide frontside skis, depending how you want to look at it.

Great video! I enjoy my enforcer 104 frees as a young guy in CO. But i recently picked up a pair of Moment Wildcat 108s. I havent put them to the full test yet, but i might enjoy them more than my enforcers.
You should look into trying a pair of moments! Theyre harder to come by (reno based company). But from what i have read, almost everyone that rides them never looks back. They sort of have a cult following like the enforcer, but with the entire company vs 1 ski

Hey Elliot. I'm an intermediate skier looking to get out of rentals and I'll be in Colorado for a week in January and going to demo for the first time. Since I'm from the Midwest and will take a yearly trip out west I'm thinking of starting with skis in the mid 80s to low 90s waist width. I'm curious if there is a particular order I should demo the skis. For instance, should I demo from most narrow to widest, heaviest to lightest, or by a different standard? I would love your opinion on the best strategy on the best way to demo skis. Love the content. Keep it up.
I would just stick to similar width skis so it's one less variable, probably like 88-92 would be a good starting point for CO. At intermediate you really don't need anything wider at this point and then as you progress look at dedicated powder skis, but for now just work on mastering on trail skills.
Always worth looking into one-on-one lessons, if you find someone you trust it can be super effective.
Would check out fischer rangers or Salomon QST 92s
They are dead easy to ski and the worse the piste get the more I like them. Also great in slushy spring snow. I'm not a very technical carver though and I've heard other refer to them as old man skis so maybe you are on to something here lol.
i work at rei in the ski department. everyone loves this ski but i ask people if they have ever skied on it and they say no but have read all the reviews. the one guy who has skied on it, loves it and has it in every width

My buddy wanted Enforcers and ended up with Kore 93s. Looks like he made a good choice.

@RicketySkiReviews what about the Black Pearl? Blizzard has been beating that very profitable horse for a decade. They've reworked the Rustler series but the womans all mountain flagship never wavers.

@@RicketySkiReviews Sweet! I’m curious on your take, because I often see the Bonafide 97, Mantra M6, Mindbender 99Ti, and Enforcer 100 lumped in together. What makes it doubly interesting is that you like the middle two but not the latter.
I've been a long time Moment fan and also played on some ON3P and the first time I saw a twin tip I knew I had to have it and never looked back. Just for some context. Spent time out West but currently skiing in the NE so I thought I'd slim the quiver a bit with Enforcer 88s. Everyone seemed to recommend them for icy days. I did have some fun days on them, but then a slushy spring day where I reaally didn't click with them-- they just felt meh and not that fun in what are typically really fun conditions. Probably not the right ski for that. I'm confident I can drive them and that they're not too tall for me. So jury is still out on them overall, but hoping to get more days this season to test em out.
BTW would love to see Moment let you try out their new Commander 92. A racer's take on their thinnest ski available (I believe) would be nice and I imagine you'd have a lot to say and I'm curious how it'd stack up versus all these typically frontside skis that are recommended. Where does it have strengths/ what does it suck at versus the big brands etc. I would also love to see you try out some of their other fun shapes ie Wildcat or Deathwish. If you're ever in VT and your BSL works out close enough, you're welcome to ride some Wildcat 101s.

I have commented before that I agree with your assessment of this ski and Kudo's that in this video you add some qualifying remarks about they work better for a different style and demographic and conditions. I skied the 93mm width and found it dull, stable and steady, like you said no rebound and it doesn't pull you into the turn from the tip or pop you out at the end. For a lot of skiers that is a good thing, for me, and you, its not desirable. The enforcer sure doesn't perform a carve like a race ski, its definitely a damp, steady ski. An old man ski for sure, but you could probably go quite fast and not get in trouble.
I think the comment about "the industry running away from the Enforcer" means other ski companies are making better performing skis with a similar shape, intent. I guess they have figured out how to make a ski perform better, lighter weight, better tip initiation, ect......

Did you hear that Blizzard may be cutting the Bonafide and Cochise after this season?
If sales are falling, it wouldn't be surprising for certain models to go away.
I don't know if I've heard you comment on them, do you have the same view of the Enforcer 88 and 94 as the 100? I'm actually kind of curious about the 88 versus the Brahma.
I think you have to keep in mind whatever you hear from the Skiessentials guys, they are looking at it from a Stowe, VT perspective with New England conditions and terrain being the focus. The two of them are also quite a bit different physically, it's interesting to see how their views are similar and also different.
Have you tried the Enforcer 104 Free?
I ski Brahma and Enf88. Brahma is stronger onpiste and initates faster but Enf 88 is just about as strong, just wIth a shorter edge feel due to shape. The tip is better for offpiste too.

Yeah Blizzard on paper has a ton of different ski models and they update frequently, that's not surprising to hear.
Historically I have really liked the Brahma Line
They are not ditching the models, but they are already so much tweaked from the original Brahma-Bonafide-Cochise line, that with the latest modifications they rebranded them as Anomaly 84, 88, 94 and 102.

Two sheets of metal is one sheet of OVERKILL! Most skis have one sheet of metal… then there’s Peak Skis with its “Keyhole”.

Nordica Enforcer 100 is the only Enforcer I demoed in April, the Blizzard Rustler 10 was also pretty similar in feel, both felt dead. I didn't get a chance to try the Maverick or the Bent cause I was demoing so late in the season they wouldn't let me try anything they didn't have in stock even though they had the demo pairs.
Try the new rustler 10 they changed the layup
yeah totally! I think the two companies are related as well. Definitely check out the Mavericks or even the Fischer Rangers if you like lively skis!

@@RicketySkiReviews Nordica and Blizzard are both in Tecnica Group, so basically the same company. Nordica design comes from Italy, as far as I know, Blizzard from Austria. Most models of both brands are manufactured in the Austrian factory.
Enforcer 94 eastern skier, ex racer, race coach now. 205 pounds.
I've said this before and Im gonna repeat myself : the 88 and 94 are the way to go, dont go 100 its a waste of money.that aside, this ski is the dampest on the market right now, so if you dont ski in the morning, this quite fun. They like speed, and they are meant to be slapped on edge at a really high angle right away. Like you said you cant savor the turns on these. They are also quite fatiguing in the moghuls god damn its exausting 😂 do I like my skis ? Of course, they suit my style on piste of just fucking sending it 😂. But I would exchange them for an armada declivity 92 or salomon stance 90 ? Yes, anytime! 😅

Have really enjoyed my enforcer 93 for all the same reasons and hell yes they wear me out also. Feels like their ability to blast through variable snow is masking my lack of finesse. I’d love to spend some time on something that felt lively and precise with less energy input.
You should review the segment on the head core. Every time they review it they seem to not like it that much.
It's top of my list to review this winter, you're not alone, I get tons of comments like this one.
I don't know anything about Enforcer 100. But I really like Enforcer 88. Although I use K2 mindbender 89 ti this season.
How did you like them? I was very impressed by the Mindbender 99ti
@RicketySkiReviews They initiate turn really well. You feel like you are flying. They hold onto the edge better than lot of other skis. But if you change mind middle of turn to redirect, they are difficult to control. But that may have to do with skis longer than my height.
@@RicketySkiReviews After using more, now I am not that happy with mindbender 89 ti. They are just very turnier. It is so difficult to make long turns. They just keep turning.
I saw lots of this ski at Alpine, Squaw, and Mammoth last yr from May thru July. I Haven't seen this ski at Sugar Bowl, where I've largely been thus far this season. Maybe it's a great crud/spring ski. SB has lots of young Senders none ride this. It's never spoken to me when researching skis. No one I know rides these.
Elliot, those that know how to carve will know exactly what you mean when you say it's heavy, dead with no energy return. A ski can be all those things and still lay out solid carves and plow through the chunder after the storm. If they don't get it... and it makes them angry... they don't know or don't want to feel that energy boost! Yeah, we get it... the shape is aesthetically pleasing. At the end of the day that doesn't cut it for me... personally.
Agreed, I think there are styles of skiing at play as well, but agree with your main point completely!
Enforcers are a bit on the old-school all-mountain style skis. When they were renenwed in 2016 or so, they were something new compared to the skis from 2010s.
And being old-school is not a bad thing. As said, there is still the audience for this type of ski. Bonafide, Mantra M6, Enforcer 100.
I put my brother on my E104 Free last spring, and skied his M6. He was "meh", and I was "meh". Yeah, the M6 felt fine for me, and if I was buying a Bonafide now, I would probably turn to M6 instead. Touch lighter, and bit more precise handling.
It was a soft day, and the 104 Free did carve proudly And did it in more moderate speeds compared to the M6.
Must say I've got ZERO interest in sinking to the bottom in ft of powder! I'm absolutely Loving my Volkl Revolt 180s (I'm 5'11'') I've been almost knee-deep in pow they float right on top of the way the rockered out twin tips as advertised. I can carve, turn, POP!, and straight line wonderfully on them in pow.

When you say the Enforcers have had their day, just look to what happened to Rossi. They had an iconic ski in Soul 7 that they ditched for no good reason in favor of some skis with no edge or personality.

Other skis have caught up with the shape now so it isn't so unique but still is good. Possibly more skiers suit less metal and strength as in don't need it, so the other options now being lighter and more bendy are popular.
Declivitys come to mind. Has 85% of the Enforcers power but most dont use 100% so still works with less effort i.e suits more people?
Enforcers are great at smashing through rubbish and ontop of it too plus onpiste. But most skiers on 100mm skis are probably using for deeper snow days only, and have a quiver now, so don't need a wide one ski trying to do everything.

@RicketySkiReviews The Enf 88s I would suggest as they span the 88cm category pretty well in versatility. I have those and Brahma 88s, and the Declivity 92ti too. Enforcer offers the most wide range of the 88s capability wise for varying snow conditions and skiing at warp speed too IMO.
I tried Kendo 88 as well and while everyone gushes about that one too, I found it planky, not as fun as the Enf 88 and less dynamic onpiste than the Brahma.....so everyone's different right 😉
Nothing validates your feedback like the reviews of the Unleashed 98, 108, 114. The feedback on energy, precision and reduced weight while still being pretty chargey. I would say the problem with them is people expect them to be softer and more playful and end up selling them.
I am not a freestyle skier at all but would buy the Unleashed over the Enforcer. Nordica created a new line but it really was due to just update the enforcer and add a new narrower width in the Free series.
Agreed, I have also been seeing a ton of the 2023 models still floating around for black friday sales, so I get the inkling they're not flying off the shelves like they used to.

Like I previously said -- Mr Ed is dead... :P and the ski probably works well in heavy wet powder and sierra crete, even if it's long in the tooth... but then again when I ski, I'm still on skis from 2012 -- and I'm that moddle-aged to retired old man ex-skier you talked about...

@@RicketySkiReviews I don't like or dislike the Enforcers -- have never skied them... just pointing out the negative characteristics you complain about are possibly positives in other environmants... And of course having fun with teh fact that you keep beating a dead horse...
Great skis... too heavy. I think people like it that want an extremely stable platform that cuts through anything. But it's a lot of work to throw this around in chutes and trees. If they used the same shape but got creative and reduced the metal and maybe added carbon it would be more lively and a weight that's preferable.
Agreed, and I think it's overdue for a bit of a facelift, or at least an alternate version? Idk, the fans are pretty diehard, so it probably sells like hotcakes, but judging by the skis I see on sale, idk, there's alot of the 2023's still kicking around.

They're top of the list for this season, I see so many people on the chair in those skis, I'm really eager to test them.
Ironically, both lineups are completely revamped for 2025.
Elliot, it is time to let it go. I don't know what Nordica did to you, but for one reviewer to keep going back to the Enforcer time and again is just getting old. I think your reviews are quite valid for the most part, but I think we would like to hear about other skis now.
