I have been getting very emotional through out the series for the simple fact that I used to go with my father on his geological expeditions (we are namibians ). We used to camp in places that no tourist had a reason to visit, in the middle of nowhere on our way to damara land looking at the milky way through the tent or when we slept out side because the series landys gearbox broke. And lately I have been over worked getting my degree (this is my final year) and watching your vids, especially this series, I cant help but remember those days and it has brought a tear to my eye every time. Thank you.
Loving this series Andrew, never had the opportunity to watch it until now. I felt the need to comment when you mentioned the mask wearing. Myself, Austrailian born and bred and never been international as yet because I wanted to see and learn all we have here before I do (now 40 and I'm close). I've lived and worked in all states in Australia apart from W.A as a chef in mostly tourist destinations since the late 90's. This mask wearing has been going on for even longer, and predominantly from the Chinese. I was curious as to why, and the answer I always received from the tour operators or others I asked was "their town/city/country was incredibly polluted and it's habbit". Cue the past 2 years, and my mind is now questioning that reasoning while visiting a place such as you mentioned with some of the cleanest and purest air. Make for some good conversation around the fire with a beer.

Great video! I found the complaints really funny! But have to inform you that there do exist both 10- and 6-packs of eggs in my world. So as long as you buy 6-egg boxes, you should have 6-egg containers in the car. :-D
Great to see Jeramay , open up (or was that open Mic) heck what a comedy duo... Although as a avid camper myself i feel your frustration. Great Video again loving the series. Keep up the great work Andrew.
I love the "Complaint game show" you guys are doing. It'd be a hilarious review show. :) "And then you'd find a box of unused matches next to a dead person." Absolutely brilliant! :D
In Germany you can buy eggs in containers which contain 10 eggs. So this specific egg container would make sense here. One thing I don't understand is, why you need those plastic containers in the first place. Just use the ones you bought the eggs in...
Interested in the Partner Steel stove. I have the opportunity to source one from the USA. However, Do they have standard gas fitting sizes found in Australia?
Great episode Andrew and Jeremy!!! Best laughs I have had on UA-cam in a long time!! Love the honest "review" of some of your camping gear.....yeah, the egg carton issue, thats been the same since 1960!! Andrew, when are you coming to Canada and exploring the far north?
Your favorite friends Andrew, Bubba Baboon🦍. Glad that you're helping me keep old words, ablution, alive. I must perform my morning and evening ablutions. Oh me, those eyes are so funny! Great reviews!! I need a 10 egg container and an Earth Moving gas tank. You and Jeramay make a good team.
The yellow egg carries you get here seem to be designed to carry quail eggs, every one I have ever owned has been too small to carry just ordinary chicken eggs. The usual portable camping stoves available from most camping outlets, we have taken to calling 'food burners', because that is all they are capable of doing. There are some good stoves like the Lido Junior that have good heat control and a grill but they tend to cost around $400! People who design products should be made to use them. So many items are either pure junk, or could be brilliant, with just a little more thought.
Andrew, I've watched a number of your videos and you hit the mark and tone (from a born and bread Zimbo). I hear honest commentry mixed with grood humour. Keep it coming!
The MSR reactor boiler you use, is it the 2.5L or the 1L. Tnx for the wonderful video and product reviews - we wouldn't more of the latter every now and then or some list of Andrew used and approved on your website :-)
I feel exactly that same about the Cadac cooker top and gas bottle. Cadac Skottel braai and the cast iron braai is also not well thought through, the stem fits too loose on the gas bottle, it makes the whole skottel braai / cast iron top move constantly form side to side (unstable) as you use it. Cadac South Africa clearly have not tested their products for a long period before putting it on the market, which is bad...
in your cooking and cadac-stove-rant scene, there is a bottle of SOME FLUID always hidden behind a thermos bottle. magically, from each camera angle. have you both had at least a sip of this before you started rolling the camera? :D
Can't wait for the next one if you're saying it's the best camp spot! As for those stoves, they truly are awful if you've ever used something decent but they seem to be in every self drive package you get in Southern Africa so I'd guess many of us have had the same breakfast time rant to no one in particular 😃
Andrew I have really grown to enjoy your videos. I hope to meet you someday. I was wondering what it would cost for someone to do this trip? Don’t worry if it’s too hard to answer. Thank you.
I have the catac stove and the East African oryx stove m, try the Oryx one from east Africa and you’ll see that the cadac is not the worse in the world haha
ha brilliant with the hippo responding to your comment of baboons :) how the hell do you get your touch to give recoil haha oh my god love the "outtake" mini clip about the camping cocker, brilliant humor
Hey Andrew love the show please check out the Colman duel fuel lights and stoves as you always carry either some diesel or petrol on your truck you don’t need anything else to run the stove they are compact and an awesome bit of kit in my opinion kind regards
You are aware that my Cadac bottle does not just boil ware for tea... right? Here is a list of uses: Cooker, geyser, heater, fire starter & griller. PS: those 200gr “cartridges are almost completely useless other than boiling water for tea ...
This means that you've only tried them with rubbish stoves. I use them for cooking everything, and they use one quarter the amount of gas to do the same thing in half the time. The Cadac bottles and cookers are ancient technology and are terrible in every way imaginable.
Seeing the remains of those 2 Vickers Viscounts, reminds one of the terrible atrocities committed during the Rhodesian Bush War. Flight 825 was downed by a Soviet-made missile on 3 September 1978. Of the 52 passengers and four crew, 38 died in the crash; ZIPRA guerrillas then approached the wreckage, rounded up the 10 survivors they could see and massacred them with automatic gunfire.
Hi Andrew. About the mask. That person must be sick. It is a cultural way of being nice. If a persone gets sick they put on the mask not to get those around them sick. How do I know? I asked some people from Japan touring through South Africa.
yer asians wear masks so others arn't affected by there coughing. I used to think the same thing when I picked them up at the airport in Perth. Our weather comes from antarctica, you cant get any cleaner air than that
South Africans won't come to Zimbabwe anymore, probably because those who could afford it have moved to Australia, USA and New Zealand asking for a quiet safe home. And I find it a bit strange that you always complain about tourists, you are one yourself, visiting there as well, travelling in your cars and planning your trips, but at the end you are there for good time, and that is tourism, looking to have a good time.
Andrew is not looking for your typical tourist experience. Like many of us he’s looking to explore more remote parts of the world where very few people travel. Theres nothing better than finding a beautiful landscape and having it all to yourself!
"This week on 4xOverland, we'll learn that Toyota has lousy customer support, that the African wilderness is really a series of game parks; that you can have crap neighbours even in an empty campground, and a large number of camping equipment manufacturers have no idea what they're doing. I'm Andrew White... come join us, and together we'll slit our wrists whilst spending the children's inheritance."
That was no criticism of Andrew's video, only sadness at what was once wild Africa. ASPW's productions are top notch. As a result, he has a large and supportive viewership. Don't you wish your channel had the same?@@wepopcreative
This is my personal channel and I have a successful Motorsport channel elsewhere so the burn didn’t work. Obviously saying “together well slit our wrists whilst spending our children inheritance” could be misconstrued as trolling, and many people forget that people like Andrew deliver free content for people like us to enjoy.
@@4xoverland Willem Bezuidenhout After viewing your UA-cam video "Camping with Elephants. Wild Africa 10. In the Netherlands there are plenty of eggs sold in 10 pc kartons, you have a Dutch container :)

Great vid. Really like your passion. Steve
I think you and Jeramay got a touch of "camping fever" for this episode :-) A little goofy levity. Nice to see!
I'm just here to say that many here in Germany buy eggs in 10-egg containers.
Is the Coleman camper stove not available in Africa? Runs on campers fuel?

Stoves: Primus have some good controllable 2 flame stoves - also with wind shields.

The dual fuels will run on diesel?
@@sonictech1000 no, but you can get similar ones that do. Apparently they're quite smelly.
The Coleman ones are great though.

Just been watching some of the series I've missed, made me chuckle this one, how bizarre it was 2years ago to see others wearing masks!
