Hey Stevie:You've been pretty busy with all you have going on.Some people don't realize the work that it takes to be sucessful in the Music Biz. As far as gigs go.I played a Birthday party 3 weeks ago. That's the only gig we played this year. I've not worked on any of my own music for the past 3 months.Because of summer projects.Bike Riding day trips.Going to Vegas to see Barry Manilow in 2 weeks.Oct trip going to visit all of the canyons in utah..It all sounds like excuses not to do any music. But it helps to clear all of the old production ideas out of my memeory and come up with fresh ideas.I bought 3 of your production classes and only finished one.I will get to them soon.
@@Steven_Beddall I do mostly corporate/weddings/parties. I'm mainly a solo act (piano and vox), which defiantly helps when it comes to income. The UK live music scene is really hot tbh. I had a guy who just moved from Spain, couldn't believe how good it is. Love the Channel. ❤
You know it Steve: These insights are highly appreciated. Thanks a ton! You once mentioned in one of your earlier videos that you were involved in some rather "bouthique libraries" and I wonder why you no longer write for them and only focus on the royalty free market. Just curious beacause I am kind of planning my journey the other way around. Anyways, thanks for all you're doing! Keep it up!
Yes back in the day I did start that way but their business model has changed since and they also bought the rights to performance royalties so in the end it wasn't worth it for me with that particular library, but there are so many others I'd like to work with and will definitely keep the channel updated with my progress there!
Yeah i am also curious what does this mean.I'm assuming that you are relinquishing your rights to the ownership of you work therefore they are not bound to provide royalties by buying your songs outright for a set of price?
@@Gogies777 Yeah, so basically by purchasing the song outright they’re buying out the publishing rights, so they would be registering the track with a PRO on their own behalf, not the author’s.

Group lessons... Do you mind describing what that looks like for you? Thank you!
Usually 3 people at a time, can't do big groups inside just yet!
@@Steven_Beddall thx!

Hey Donald, yeah I think it's good to get out there and find some inspiration! I hope you have plenty to write about when you get back to it!
I'm considering lumping lessons in as a Patreon option. Your thoughts?
One on one lessons are always a great idea for a Patreon tier!
@@Steven_Beddall super, that's what I was thinking too! Thx!
Nice, thanks for the insights! Would love to hear some words from you on how to market yourself/how to get gigs as a Freelance Composer.
Thanks for watching Damjan, yes that's a good idea for a future video!
Sweet. Mine are:
1. Gigs
2. Teaching
3. Stock Music
That's all I do 😅🤷♂️
Hey Jon, that's awesome man. What kind of gigs are you doing these days?!

@@jonhickmanmusic That's so great to hear man, good on you for hustlin' those gigs!
Thanks for the information! Made me rethink my future plans..
This is interesting! Thanks for sharing the grind. It is real
Hello again buddy. Just wondering if you have ever received any Royalty payments from your work?
Hey Shelby, yes I have but more for the music my band has recorded, not so much stock music.
Hi Steve, do you have a few libaries that you submit to? Audio Jungle are not accepting new authors at present.
Pond 5, Motion Array, Artlist, 100Audio, VFine Music 😊
Nice video! Thanks for the insight and continued inspiration.
Be interested to hear more about how you go about getting custom scoring projects?
Hey thanks Mike! Yeah for sure, I will definitely explore that subject more in future videos!
Keep up the amazing work!
Great vid m8

Thanks for this Steve, great content that I really think is helpful for people who are trying to make music income themselves.
