Enjoyed the video. I grew up on Sunnyvale and grandparents were in San Francisco. I remember Play Land and also remember same spinning ride at the Santa Cruz boardwalk. Like your videos keep them coming. I’m a Tool maker at a large company in Santa . Rosa, 67 and still enjoy the work. Like you I’m a tool nut multiple of machines and projects never enough . Just finished making a slow speed 4 inch diamond grinder. Scraping some worn ways on a mill at home. Video gives me some ideas.

Thanks Chuck. Proof that Bozo still lives among us all. Seems to me that Bozo is always waiting for me to get in a hurry and then its "Gotcha" I just came in from my shop JB Welding a hole that I drilled 1/8" off so I filled the hole and moved the hole 90 degrees. Only thing i can say is that it is a lesson in patience for me. Marching is not a trade/hobby to get in a hurry. Thanks for bringing us along. Looking forward to part 3
Went to Playland on my 9th birthday. Cold and windy, but not inside. Flew off that plate a couple of times and fell down in the big barrel. Had a great time.
Looks like you got it! But their is one more issue you will need to solve that will show up in a month or so. When you surface ground the plate you likely removed the nickel plating on the magnets, moisture and oxygen will turn the magnets powdery dust as they "rust". Merry Christmas Craig
@@outsidescrewball Came to the comments to say the same thing, once that silver layer is broken, just atmospheric moisture will rot the magnet. Also if you're going to use magnets, it's a good idea to have an even number and inserted so that you alternate poles as you go round the circle to give a better gripping flux through the metal placed on them. Hope You're having a Merry Christmas/Boxing Day/ New Year. Cheers from Down Under.
I'm sorry Chuck I didn't see the first part but it looks like you aren't trying to grind on the edge of your abrasive, so the runout would actually help abrasive wear on the face. Maybe I'm missing something.
Jim, thanks for viewing, the reason I did not show the modification to the bolt was it would have been a complete video as I was chasing solutions, I used an ER32 hex collet to secure it in the lathe, then tried extended parting blades to make the cut as there was very limited room for tooling, in the end I have many HHS ground lathe tooling (by others) and I found a left handed radius tool that had an extended nose that would allow me to plunge into the angle where the parting blades wanted to chase the angle....problem solving on the fly and filming is not an easy thing to do...sorry
Hi Chuck ! To me it looks like you have mis-alligned the original PIN, the CENTER of the SPINDEL and the new hole you drilled ! Merry X-mas to you and family from Denmark
I don't see a need to fix something that is not a problem it actually a blessing
Lots of trouble shooting there. Great save.. I will be back for part 3 Thanks for the video keep on keeping on.
thank you Harold for viewing and your supportive comments

Hello Terry, thanks for viewing and your supportive comments, pls keep Bozo locked up for me....
Thats funny Chuck. We should rename Bozo Boudini. @@outsidescrewball
We should bring back lawn darts!

Craig, thanks for viewing and the future issue as I did not think of that....time will tell...

Whew! I appreciate your dedication to solving the problem. Warmest wishes for you and your family this Holiday Season.
Happy holidays! thanks for viewing
Leaving the wobble would have been good entertainment for the grandkids, hehe🤪
good one...LOL
Huh! I was thinking of the San Francisco Fun House before you mentioned it. Good Times.
Quite nice!

Machine a screw with a countersink like you have already, and leave a pin sticking up to center the disk. Put a hex on it to tighten the screw/pin.
thanks for viewing, very limited room for something sticking up when the grinder is in the vertical position which is shown when I use this setup
Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Thanks for viewing....Merry Christmas

Mick, thanks for viewing, the runout IMO doesn't work when sharpening an endmill...
It will keep you out of the Grove it not like this thing is spinning crazy rpms may be a blessing
Show the work you did on the bolt . How did you hold it to do the under cut of the tapered face

Hello Keld, great to hear from you, thanks for viewing
Merry Christmas

The eccentric may be a good thing
try to see the benefit of this "problem" you get a more uniform grinding when the disk is wobling. keep it this way.
thanks for viewing and commenting, the wobble IMO will create an issue when sharpening endmills
Looks like usual deal assuming and not checking bites about every time.
thanks for viewing Brian...
I guess you could have plugged the bad pin hole and redrilled next to it to correct the problem also.
I agree with the idea, but another hole was simple and the bad hole will aways remind me of my Bozo
But the hole there will still remind you of your Bozo. Lol PS haven't heard Bozo's name in many years.@@outsidescrewball
Just trim the disc edge to true it. The disc doesn’t care .
