Super video, I already have an idea of what I will do with my KTM; the problem will be to get the Remus Exhaust in Mexico.

This is why I love my Remus. I threw away the DB killer the first day I had it. My 1290 sounds ridiculous!

Great video. The Remus without the DB killer takes it. How hard was it to get it out?

1290 Super Adventure has a safety flaw in its design, the motorcycle has a major safety problem.
I bought mine six month ago and since day one I have been experiencing head wobble at speed ranging from 100 to 120 mph.
I contacted the dealer and they said “there is a software upgrade regarding the head wobble”
I took the motorcycle to the dealer, after the software upgrade I discovered that the four setting for the damping is not working any more there is not difference in the performance between sports, street, comfort or off-road.

When will you make the comparison between the Remus Hexacone and the Akrapovic?
I have the Akrapovic but i'm thinking of selling it and buy the Remus Hexacone or the Arrow Maxi Race-Tech because they are smaller and much lighter (the Arrow is also much cheaper than the other two).

Why has no one put a shorty on like most people do with the super duke, it sounded so good with no muffler, sc project shorty and a de cat would sound naughty

    Fantastic sound Remus without dB.
What kind of Remus is it,Titanium or carbon?
Do you have the comparative with the Ackaprovich titanium or carbon?
Personally, I've had the ackaprovich, and I'm not sure if the price is reflected in the quality, and the REMUS is one that I really liked.
    Do you know the GPR?
    Thanks

Hi, currently trying to remove mine, what bolt attachment did you use on the KTM hand tool please? I have the same kit and can't find a suitable attachment

It’s crazy that you have to cut the DB killer out. It sounds much better without it though.

After having used the Remus unit for a week or so, baffle out, I love the sound but it is just a little too loud if you ride more than a couple of km's. Has anyone modified/cut the baffle to get an 'in between' solution? How? Pros/cons.

What about installing the header from Remus and then leave the sound insert on? More torque and a litte more sound. Win win😄 Expensive though, but it seems like you like to spend a few bucks anyway😉 looking fwd to hear your thoughts about your new nubby tires!

Gas-o-Loon ...it’s a beautiful tone without the dB killer, but it does sound loud. I went with the BOS Desert Fox because it has a fully adjustable baffle that works very well. I like the look of the Remus better, although the BOS is certainly better than OEM, but I love how I have quite a big range of tone & volume adjustment with the Desert Fox...still, the hexacone is tempting

      Any update on this?
I just bought a 1290 SAS and is wanting to put a can on it, but torn between the Akrapovic and the Remus.
Both great products, but I kinda want the loudest of the two without db killer!

    Sounds great but you sacrificed
compression pulling the dB , which means less power. Which might be ok for you. Technically you should re-tune the ecu if you want it to run correctly 👍

    • @gas-o-loon7522
      @gas-o-loon7522  6 років тому

Thanks for info. I understood from the technicians that some adaption will take place inn the ECU (fueling, ignition) to compensate. I do not feel any loss of power. But I still believe the bottom end could be stronger for a 1290. I suspect they run slighly lean on low rpms for emissions, as usually is the case nowadays. Will check further!

Please explain how removing the db killer reduces compression.

Get Rottweiler O2 removal kit, runs SO much better after installing it. Just make sure to do a 15 min. 30 sec. "no throttle" reset. And remember that the little screw has to go back in when driving without the db killer, otherwise your carbon end will get burned...!
