HowLongs I know. She has gotten way less awkward and now. Now the awkwardness that is left is seeming just cute. I did not like her before, but I enjoyed this interview and she is very easy on the eyes.

Like how much more intelligent and creative than the average person she can be? Love how the stigma of autism is used as a downer, when in fact, most of the lower autism scale is actually evolution. Increased intelligence for the trade out of social interaction. With the technology flow going the way it is, these "cool" social butterflies will become the outcasts and the intelligent "aspies" will dominate, without the need to worry about how to act socially, they can concentrate on being better than you or I.
She's never said that she has any form of autism. She's just genuinely uncomfortable when she goes on these late night shows. That is something she's said before.

I had no idea she was in 4h. And now I have even more respect for her, and she became 1000X hotter.
The producers of Parks and Rec created the role of April after they met Plaza. And now they change the gender of another character on Legion because of her. She is a very unique woman in the acting world.

Technically, ignoring context, it means neither “second best” or “second to last chronologically”. It means second to last in a series (be it a temporal series or not). Although in the context of the OP’s comment, “second best” captures the meaning more accurately than “second to last in time”. There’s nothing about being second to last *in time* that makes sense in saying someone is the “penultimate of beauty”. Whereas saying she’s the penultimate of beauty clearly means she’s not the most beautiful but the second most beautiful - which is pretty much the same thing as saying the second best in beauty.
You're right, "second to last in a series" is more accurate than "second to last chronologically," but I don't think it can be used to mean second best.

if i was interviewing her, i'd be the same way. she constantly derails interviewers who aren't ready for her random takes on things. whether that's her schtick or just her way naturally, i dont know, but if i were interviewing her, i would make sure i stayed in the drivers seat the whole way.
Nobody does the awkward pause better than Aubrey Plaza. It's the reason she never did Craig Ferguson's show - he was scared she'd own him during that segment.
