I never make any comment that isn’t 100% positive, and this is a great video. You are killing me with your pronunciation of Port A-RAN-SAS. Come on sir! 😂❤ great footage though.
We live in Texas (more central) and Port Aransas is our favorite! If you ever needed to rent an RV spot we highly recommend Pioneer RV Resort! They have a private boardwalk to the beach and the people there have always been amazing!
Very cool beach for sure! So wide too, and nice hard packed sand! That Parrot was really cool ! I wonder if he could talk? I knew a lady who used to have one just like that one. His name was.....Polly. lol Looks like you had free range of where you wanted to set up your site, and how much you wanted to use. Showers were nice, and porta potties, ok. What did they have out on the pier? Bathrooms, snack bar? Yeah, the sand sculpture was for sure a Hermit Crab. We have had about 6 of them when the kids were small. Great video, enjoyed watching it !! Thanks, vicky
Thanks for the video! Were you able to stay overnight there? I read something about a curfew at night, but maybe that was for another area, or maybe it's a rule that was put into affect after your video.
Several local stores sell the permit. Here is the city's web information link for the camping permit: cityofportaransas.org/departments/parks-and-recreation/port-aransas-beach/beach-parking-permit-information/
Okay so I have to be honest: we were out there for a family weekend at a beachhouse (you passed it on the way to the site you camped at), and my husband and I saw folks RVing on the beach. We just thought that would be miserable because it's soooooo hot (we're from Texas, so we're used to it), and the thought of tracking that sand into the RV seems awful. How was that? We adore the sound of the ocean, and your video looks absolutely lovely. Perhaps we could do it before the hot weather hits. Maybe we'll give it a go next spring. Let me know your thoughts. I'm inspired. 🙂
RVing smart means traveling with the weather (a blessing in retirement). I believe we visited Aransas Beach late in January. Short stays along the beach are okay, but beware of the salt and cover all exposed metal surfaces to minimize rust. We will camp somewhere out of the way of the salt spray if we want to stay more than a day or two at the beach. For example, Assateague Island in Maryland offers both ocean and bayside camping. The bayside gets little salt overspray.
Port A - ran - as. Been there many times.
Yep-I sure butchered the name. You folks keep me on my toes. Must have received a half dozen corrections. Thanks for watching! Lou
Everyone knows it's our'n asses.
Wow, you corrected his pronunciation with another wrong pronunciation LOL 😆. Here, let me help both of you out....
Port A-ran-sas. Your welcome 😊.
Cactus jack, you’re pronouncing it wrong too. A-Ran-sas
Port-a-ran-zus pronounced like this
That sand sculpture looked like a hermit crab to me. Great beach.
Agree. After I shot that clip, I took in the sand sculpture a little more and came to the same conclusion. Thanks for watching! Lou
Hermit Crab. I had one when I was a kid. Going there for sure. Thanks again for showing everyone this spot.
Yep - after shooting that video clip I went back and pondered the sand sculpture. Hermit crab for sure.
It is PORT ARANSAS! ARANSAS! 😆😉
Yep. Thanks for watching! Be sure to activate the notification bell so you don’t miss our next video.

Thanks for the tips! Much appreciated. Lou
Any reported crime at this beach? How safe does it seem for a single woman tent camping?
Well done! You convinced me. :) We will check that out the next time we are in south Texas. Thanks for sharing this info!
Hi guys. We sure enjoy your channel. Down to earth info for real folks. Thanks for watching! Lou
Amazing beach opportunity. And that area is beautiful. Texas has some great beaches to camp on.
You got that right! Thanks for watching. Lou

The parrot did talk. I stopped and chatted with this couple (and the parrot) after shooting the video clip.
The sand sculpture was a herment crab and shell.
Great boondocking location for a few nights. Thanks for watching. Lou

Camp there all the time
Thanks for watching! Lou
At least you spelled it correctly.
You are so kind . . . Thanks for watching! Lou
Be nice to know where you got your permit from and if you saw anything on the beach where you could purchase it. Great find!

Hermit crab sand sculpture.
Thanks for watching. Lou
How is the shelling there?
As I recall, not that great. It is a nice beach area and it does have a beach feel. Lots of beechy shops in the town as well as eateries. Lou
@@LivingOurDreamNow Well, it’s probably not known for its shell finds like Florida. But the rest of the experience will be fun.
That sounds awesome to beach camp there. Have paid $250/night to stay in hotel near the same spot.
Great location with the pier and of course the beach at your doorstep. Thanks for watching! Lou

@@LivingOurDreamNow January would be divine. Makes sense (for that area).

Local stores sell the permit. The city website lists the stores where the permit may be purchased. Lou
Can put a tent for camping🏕??
Yes to tents -- there are also potable toliets and showers here. Thanks for watching. Lou
How many days before you can come back?
You are misprouncing the name of the town, Port Aransas.
My bad. At least a dozen folks have made the same observation. Thanks for watching! Lou
